I only have 157 tweets. But I had a nice little twitter fight with Jason Cole and sadly an Omar retweet.

More happy about my retweet from Kevin Smith and my reply from Jason Mewes and Ralph Garman.

Am I the only one, or has this "drama" made you want Jake back even more - simply because we've invested all this time in watching this darn thing unfold?

He's got a clean bill of health, I know he's gonna train with a scientific approach, he's 27.. I'd be good with 3 years 27 mill.

I never wanted the guy to leave. The offense is in serious trouble if Jake Long isn't at Left Tackle.

No..just the realization of Martin at left tackle is enough to want him back, also, he was a great player 2 years ago, and he's only 27..

I never wanted him to leave, and I believe the same thing you do, but the way this has unfolded has made me want him to stay even more. I think I was resigned to the fact that he was gone, and that feeling of resignation has changed, obviously.

To me, his return will be a reason for celebration, as in the story of the prodigal son. When someone is lost and then found again, the return is that much sweeter. If you're not into the Bible story, it's also a damn good Rolling Stones song. Come on home, Jake. We'll drink some wine and have a feast!

That's my feeling too. When it looked like some team would far outbid us, I thought no choice to but to say goodbye, but now it's so close it will be extremely disappointing if he decides to leave.

    Boston, MA...
I think Jake Long's situation is similar to Ed Reed and Ray Lewis before them both. Ravens let Ray Lewis test the market a few seasons ago to see how much teams would be willing to give him. Ed Reed and Jake Long very likely want to stay with their respective teams, but want to check the market to see if a team would pay up so to speak. Jake Long "wanted" $11m a year, which means he would likely settle for $9m-$10m(moreso $10m). The other OTs that are FAs are waiting on Long to set their own prices so they have not helped Jake Long to drive his own price up. Jake's wife seems to be friends with Tannehill's, the OLine seems to love him, and he wanted to test the market, but like Ray Lewis, will ultimately return to his old team and be happy after no one decided to pay up. Simple.

    Now I see the problem...

CAA isnt just negotiating for Jake here... they're negotating for 2 other clients in the process as well. They have to get Jake as much money as possible to help facilitate 2 other deals they still need to do...

    Damn agents...

I love Jake. I wore a #77 shirt to 5 games last season. However Even he has to realize he has declined seriously in the past 2-3 seasons. The fact that he didn't sign elsewhere might shock him into reality.

Florio is a douche . I used to love PFT but he has become the most pretentious guy ever. Like Greg Jennings first consideration should be packers fans. He has become the self proclaimed righteous voice of the NFL. That said come home Jake!

But it's just a guess. Long knows Jeff Fisher takes care of vets. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he picks Rams.

That's basically Peter King in a nutshell. If you ask him about football(he'd really you not. What about craft beer?) he'll give you his rough estimate of what is possible. Maybe, he hasn't thought about it too hard.

Correction. THIS is Peter King in a nutshell:

    Pumpkin Ale
The Coffee at the Buffalo Airport is pretty good
The Red Sox suck, but they might surprise this year or they might not.
I spoke with Vince Lombardi this weekend and he told me that the Football is made of pig skin.

The more this drags out, the more I think Long will re-sign. If he was really willing to go to the Rams, or any other team, then he likely would have done so already. He's had ample opportunity to hear pitches, talk to coaches, work out contract details, etc.

He's probably a little annoyed that he's going to take a pay cut compared to his rookie contract, but that's just how it works.

most recent examples point to the contrary..... Dating back to McNair. But he will ground and pound, and that has appeal to Jake.

Peter King also guaranteed the national media the lockout would not end and the 2011 season would not be played.

In regards to Jake. I am willing to bet he is being offered only a two year contract. Not sure why I think that just do. Maybe 3 years tops.

Do not think its a bidding war either. Miami had a price set and I am thinkin gwhen he visited St.Louis the price was not much different. Considering he has to pay 6% tax in Missouri for 10 games, if both offers are identical he could save himself 100s of thousands of dollars a year just by staying here.

All the owners are in Phoenix. I read on pro football talk he was not even at the facility yesterday as first reported because all the brass was already in Arizona
