The Colts would like to close the book on a very successful free agency year with the addition of vet ILB Bradie James.
Seattle would like to welcome 2 more quality depth signings: Justin Bannan on the DL for just $550,000 and Leroy Hill at LB at $530,000. Both players agreed to massive paycuts to play for a contender.
The butt soreness is strong with this one. We just watched a guard go for $13 million in free agency and last I checked Beatty for over $13 million so I feel just fine picking up the best run blocking tackle available.
Thats about what I had figured. Colston went for 16 last year and Wallace is better plus hes a Dolphin. Based on my calculations: Colston x 1.5 Dolphin Factor = 24M Pretty much same thing is happening with Ellerbe.
With all the high-priced OL, I'm thrilled with signing Gosder Cherilus at $6 mil. Elite RT to go with the league's top LT, Cherilus graded out at +26.3 by PFF this year.
True. His perceived value league-wide to casual fans might be down because he was drafted so high and didn't pan out at LT, but he's really a solid RT, perhaps one of the league's best.
I was happy to get Welker with a single bid at the end, and for 13.25 million was a good price for a named WR with a lot of production going to play with another elite QB.
Finally Seattle has landed their starting SS, Kerry Rhodes for 5.3M. Rhodes was a surprise cut from the Cards despite being PFF's 4th ranked safety (FS or SS). Rhodes allowed just a 64.5 NFL rating against on passes and displayed solid play vs the run and pass. He had 4 INT's and 6 passes defensed.
Cardinals throw conscious to the wind, don't follow PFF numbers and want another Safety out of their price range.
I know sports24/7 doesn't. He is getting himself a comp pick for Quin. Speaking of which, once Barwin and Powers sign, I should have an idea of who gets one. Those two players have the potential to move into the 7th round spots.
The New York Giants announce the signing of their new Starting TE Brandon Myers $3,900,000. He is the 4th TE in the last 4 years and Eli Manning has proven over this time to develope TE's at a very high level (Kevin Boss 2010, Jake Ballard 2011, Martellus Bennett 2012).....is there Pro Bowl Potential in Myers???
strictly highest paid for FAs? Or will you factor in significant FAs signed vs those lost? If you did that some teams just might not get compensatory picks.
Highest paid. It's how we have always done it here because it's the only way to do it where it's black and white.
They could sign Jerome Long and trade for Chris Long for the DLine and they'd have the longest team in the league. Or two Long lines.
LMAO no. I went for a more run blocking line considering who I have at RB. So that made Loadholt the choice (PFF's #4 overall run blocking tackle).
If he thinks Barwin and Powers might sneak in...I think it does mean he's there at the moment. Which if he is....that's cool. Totally wasn't expecting it.
Rams are tickled pink to announce the free agent acquisition of Ahmad Bradshaw. I believe we are around $16k under the cap. Ready for the draft.
