Travis Frederick, C (6-3 5/8, 316) — Frederick stood on his numbers from the combine. Frederick’s versatility on the offensive line — he has started at both guard and center, and performed at a high level in doing so — makes him a desirable pro prospect. Ricky Wagner, OT (6-6 1/8, 309) — Wagner stood on his numbers from the combine. Both Wagner and Frederick were worked out in the position drills by Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Jim Turner.
DJ Hayden ran a 4.33 or 4.42 depending on who ya ask: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...yden-posts-blazing-40-time-at-houston-pro-day
Stedman Bailey was timed at 4.62 and 4.66. Far cry from his 4.52 and 4.50 (official and unofficial) times at the combine. I wonder why there's such a discrepancy. And what does that mean for his draft stock? Interesting Miami worked out Geno Smith. Fauria ran a 4.72 and 4.8 in his forty. Only weights 243lbs? Is that an error? I thought he was around 260...?
I just want to be clear, and I felt I was pretty clear in my #MockTwo explanations....if D.J. Hayden's sternum is healthy and cleared for contact then he is one of the very best corners in this entire Draft. There are very few corners I would take above him. From what I have READ, the issue is the sternum, not the vein. I'm told that the way veins heal, there's even less chance he tears the vein again in the same way. But I imagine that in order to fix him up they had to crack his sternum open and that is what needs to properly heal well enough for contact.
Utah Pro Day tomorrow. While we are on the topic of heart problems, has anybody heard anything about Lotulelei?
Consider that to take Trufant you've got to go for him at 12 and yet to take Hayden you could get him probably in the 3rd round.
Good. If Stedman falls enough maybe Ireland has no choice but to take him. I can dream. Fauria.. If he makes it to the 6th round (unlikely but not impossible) you have to scoop him. On another note, Gavin Escobar continues to disappoint me. Did not run fast at his Pro Day. Not a fan of the kid. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
To me, the jury is still out on whether Jim Turner is a good O line coach who can develop players. Hoping to see that he is great, since we may need him to coach some kids up. I mean, if Martin doesn't develop well, we're really screwed at OT. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Not sure where he saw it, but... http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013...ay-katz-escobar-mcfadden/?page=2#article-copy
Joseph Fauria... Height: 6072 Weight: 259 lbs 40 Time: 4.72 Vertical: 35.5 inches Broad Jump: 10 feet, 0 inches No surprises there. Hell of an athlete.
Haven't watched much of Fauria, and watching youtube highlights aren't going to answer my question...He has the pedigree, the great measurables, solid production...Why the hell is this kid a late round pick? Bad hands? Bad character?
Ck, how's his groin doing? Obviously the workout numbers suggest alright, but any long term concerns? Do you know if Miami has shown any interest? Met with him or anything?
But the question is, "Can he play football," specially at the NFL level. There seems to be some question for what I have come across on various sites - but nothing concrete. I haven't seen him play anywhere, and do not have time to dig up tapes. But, I remember that Vernon Gholston was on hell of an athlete, too, and a number of people had various questions about him.
A lot of really poor tape as a blocker. Partly because in 2011 and prior, Rick Neuheisel was trying to fit a bunch of square pegs in round holes as far as running his offense, personnel be damned. Had Fauria playing some roles that are really odd for his body type and player type. But part of the poor blocking tape is just him being kind of clueless about it. Otherwise he's a natural pass catcher, runs solid routes, true seam threat, nightmare in the red zone, ridiculous number of touchdowns once they switched offenses. One of those guys that can actually accelerate and run under a deep pass. Also should be noted he was kicked out of Notre Dame for being an immature kid. Slapped a priest on the *** as a joke and was hit with a sexual harrassment claim by the priest. Res Life suspended him, and instead of serving it out he was so pissed off he transferred to his runner-up school from back when he was getting recruited. He showed more of that immaturity I think in 2012 when the eye in the sky on network television caught him mimicking a referee as he announced a penalty.
Star did damn well today. Heart is arrow up and he is gonna get checked again at the beginning of April.
