    With regards to the running back situation, any chance of grabbing Montee Ball Isfahan he happens to drop to our second round pick? Pairing him with Lamar Miller seems too good to be true, but I would do it.

    Dang, I guess I shoulda said "mark it down". ;)

    My Delorean is in the shop but you don't need a time machine to see where we are going. Maybe I should shut up and let you guys fantasize about Austin in peace.

    Elvis won't be 30 until next January. I don't know their full plan for the defense, and I don't know his price, so it is tough to say, but getting 9+ sacks a year opposite Wake would be HUGE.

    For the record, I'd be just as happy with John Abraham, but I was trying to talk only about guys under 30.

    I like Montee Ball, but if we take any RB in the 2nd round (and I'm not advocating that we do) it better be for Giovani Bernard who has gamebreaking ability. Ball in the 3rd would be fine with me. Actually I wouldn't mind Ball in the 2nd per say, I just would prefer so many other players.

    Worse? In terms of depth, maybe, but Lamar Miller has the potential to be MUCH better than Reggie Bush. He probably is already better, honestly.

    The Dolphins will draft an offensive lineman or a CB with their first round selection. Austin will end up being drafted by the Rams. Mark it down.

    Rex Ryan is a buffoon, not a clown. I understand the confusion though.

    Clowns intentionally attempt to bring joy and laughter to people.
    Buffoons unintentionally bring joy and laughter to people and start Mark Sanchez while getting a tattoo of one's wife in Sanchez's jersey.

    He pays real estate taxes because he owns the stadium and the land, which is not the case for almost all nFL teams. He can build his waterpark or do whatever else he wants to do because it's his land. Not the county's.

    If he is willing to give the land back, then he won't have to pay the tax.

    I appreciate that Ross cares about the team and is willing to spend money. Despite my criicism of Ireland, I renewed my season tickets and have been treated excellently by the organization over the last two years, so I have no complaints there. But that being said, I would still vote against the upgrades if I lived in Dade County.

    There simply isn't enough return on the investment. You have mentioned San Diego before, and that city has not suffered without the Super Bowl. What the NFL and all these leagues don't want people to see is that you can live without them.

    But if the people want it, they want it. I applaud the Dolphins agreeing to the referendum.

    I a 100% agree with you, that a single SB every few years doesn't bring a whole lot to the area.

    However, a revamped stadium can bring other events and teams to the area on a more regular basis which could help.

    I'm not sure I agree. I would say:

    WR = absolutely
    TE = yes
    RB = unknown. I became a Bush fan, but I always hated how many negative plays he was prone to. If Miller provides almost as many positive plays and fewer negative plays then we wold be ahead.
    OL = unknown. We finished last season with Long injured again. Are we any better off with Long on the bench than we are with him off the team and more cap space available?

    I'm a big believer in developing players. But to do that you have to occasionally jettison older and/or injured vets and trust your evaluations of the younger guys. It's what the successful teams do. The fans always panic b/c they see loss of "name" players as a downgrade, but I don't agree that's always the case. Reality is that there are only so many spots. You can't always (or even usually) wait for the young guy to be "proven" before moving on from the vet. You just have to decide if he's ready based on what you see in practice or in limited game opportunities.

    I want any 1 of 3 RBs in this draft. It must be either Franklin, Taylor or Ball. Accept no substitutes. None before the 4th round though. I think at least one of those 3 will be OTB in the 4th.

    Are you sure he owns the land ? I thought it was leased to Robbie (all 160 acres) at $ 1 a year. Did he or Huizenga buy it ?

    Ross takes a nice shot at Huizenga, when he says "He spent $ 250 million, and when you look at the stadium, you wonder where he spent it."

    I believe he owns it outright. I certainly could be incorrect, but I don't think so.

    Huizenga was actually first to make plans to develop the rest of the land with an entertainment/shopping complex (Kraft actually did this with Patriot Place) with a Dolphins and NFL museum which would have guaranteed the stadium a Super Bowl once every 5 years in perpetuity. Huizenga wanted a permanent set of rotating hosts and didn't believe in justs ending the Super Bowl anywhere a new stadium was built

    Perish forbid sir. The Eifert Fan Club considers Ertz to be chopped liver compared to their masturbatory fantasy. :shifty:

    I'm guessing that the rumor of the Dolphins interest in Gavin Escobar is genuine and he'll be the TE drafted in the 2nd or 3rd if possible. IMO, he has the best hands among the TEs in this draft.

    Actually, Ross sees it all the time. It was spent mostly on the club Level, where the rich people sit, and actually is very nice.

    Huizenga also widened the consourses on the lower and upper decks so you can actually have a little breathing room and a chair.

    But nothing that changed the seating, so ross is right about that. What Huizenga probably should have done was take the $250 million he privately spent, taken that to the county, pledged another $100 million and tried to partner on a new stadium. At that time, he probably could've gotten it done.
