Admittedly I'm not tech savvy enough to use this thing. It looks intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I am more tech savvy than your average person, but something like this is where I kind of take a step back. LOL.
What's tech savvy about it? You save your passwords in there, it installs extensions in your web browsers. When you need to enter a passwor, you click the key, type whatever password you created for the app, and it logs you in. It also stores individual service passwords so you can securely write down your Steam name/password. Not complicated or all that techy...
Truth be told, I've always been intimidated of synching devices. Had wireless headset way back (F u logitech) and after two weeks it wouldn't synch with my cpu. Anyways, since, I've kept things on my phone, on my phone. Things on my cpu, on my cpu. Guess I saw that feature on the s.ware you linked and it turned me off.
That's not sync. Sync is the act of automatically copying information from Source A to Source B. What you're describing is just a device crapping out on you. Anyway, 1Password's ability to sync with Dropbox is an asset, because you can then access your passwords anywhere. If you have a 64 character password to your Gmail account, you can bet you want to be able to copy-paste that sucker from anywhere.
For an alpha, it's pretty stable. I'm impressed, especially considering how buggy ArmA 2 was at launch. I need to get more play time in now that I've somewhat upgraded my system (newer SSD).
First thought; bad timing, GTA5 is out next week. Second thought; worse timing, I'm still finishing up other games from earlier this year. Third thought; man, I hope ACE and ACRE are ready to go for this game. Fourth thought; going to play the hell out of this during my Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks from work. Fifth thought; wait, Battlefield 4 will be available by then. Crap.
Its Arma 3, and it is pretty damn good. They fixed the clunkiness somewhat, and the added tactical movement speed and custom stances are amazing. This game won't die until Arma 4. It will be modded like crazy with an excellent community - missions, models, campaigns, islands, you name it. As Desides mentioned, ACE and ACRE mods are definitely on the top of my watch list.
Still haven't touched this… I swear I will at some point. I hear the launch has gone kind of rocky, so I'm waiting for a patch or two.
So finally got around to playing this. Been impressed with the performance compared to previous games. Am able to run it at near max settings on my laptop (675M 4GB/i7 3610/12GB RAM) with good FPS.
A lot of people are complaining about its performance, but I think the issue is that they have draw distance cranked up. That's the real performance killer in this game. I haven't noticed any performance issues, but I have a fairly monstrous machine. i5-3570k, GTX 780 OCed, 840 Pro, 16 GB RAM, 1200p resolution. I can run basically everything, though I admit I have to crank my fan speed up in ArmA 3 and BF4.
Yea draw distance hits performance pretty bad. SSAO too and AA in sandbox style games are always performance eaters. Mine is set at 3000 overall and 2600 object. Bloom, motion blur, depth of field, and PPAA disabled. Don't really like the looks of any of those in most games I play. Everything else maxed. I'm assuming most of these performance problems are multiplayer based though. I've only been doing the showcase missions so far.
