    I could live with this.

Would prefer to preserve the sleeve stripes, and I do agree with whomever said that the logo on the sleeve is overkill. Just keep double sleeve stripes on there and we're good. Also, the sock stripes.

By the way, I also agree with whoever said the number outline in the white jersey should probably be coral, rather than navy. The less navy the better IMO.

Disliking the new logo is not an indicator of a person who hates change on its own.

Saying the original logo is perfect, is not a guarantee of a person who hates change either...it is a red flag however.

First of all, very few of those pictures are representative of the position of the Dolphin in either of the old logos. They may be curved but they are more parallel to the water, instead of perpendicular to the water. I tried to explain this to you earlier. This, other than the helmet, was my biggest gripe with concept. The "traditional" position is a frolicking one. When a dolphin means business it looks like Row 9 Column 3 in your Bing search. Not far out of the water, slightly curved body but nose and tail parallel to the surface.

Secondly, you may not be a traditionalist who fears change......but you are giving much of the same argument a traditionalist who fears change gives.

Take this for what it's worth, jmho but I think white face masks would be a mistake for this reason...

I've worked in prisons before and in one, the bars on the cells were white. When we would conduct a check of the cell blocks, you could walk right past a cell and the white of the bars would reflect the light back. This made seeing inside of the cell difficult at times. We tried an experiment. One of the empty cells we painted the bars black and instantly we could see right through the bars as if they weren't there.

Now it may be an apples to oranges comparrison, but based on my experiences and jmho, I think a white face mask would have a similar effect; limited players' vision. Now I'm not saying have black face masks but I just think an all white face mask could have a similar effect.

    Food for thought.

That's more of a paint + color issue than anything. Various paints have different properties, like being glossy or matte or satin, etc. Glossy + white is probably like you described, but a matte + white probably isn't blinding.

Also, other teams currently have and have had white face masks, without that incident happening.

The white in the logo will just be transparent on the helmet. I don't think it will be a separate white.

That said, I hope this also means the end of the "glitter" helmets. Flat white or bust!

I would think they'd be larger...especially the shoulder logos...I think its all about how the logo will look on the helmet though.....i think it's going to be much bigger and stretch from bottom back to front top....somewhat like the seahawks helmets...just look at the helmet itself and look at the logo, it looks like it was designed to follow the allowed space on the helmets at the angle I'm saying...wish I still had my photoshop..:-(

I like the mock ups with less orange in them personally. I don't want the Dolphins to look like the U.

I'm wondering if they solved the issue of the away uniform or are just going to go all white as default

I think the U has great uniforms that perfectly embody South Florida and its culture, so I don't mind. My issue is, with jt's mock-up, the orange clashes with the thick, blue helmet stripe.

The aqua one looks awesome, and he did a perfect job, given the details he was. Just saying, there's too much clashing going on in the right one for me.

***Disclaimer, this is an entirely subjective opinion by a business school student who has never taken a class in graphic design***

I have no graphic design background either. This is just a "what I like" statement.

I don't mind the U's uniform for them, but it's theirs. I don't want to mimic or echo a college team. I like the Dolphin's identity. And I picture that identity with white and aqua primarily and very little orange (or technically coral). I agree about the clashing in the mock up. I just didn't care for the orange sleeves.

I think their abandonment of the green portion of our previous uniforms, in lieu of more aqua, would be somewhat of a move away from the U's jerseys.

this is a painting i did for a client...as you can see it shows a jumping Dolphin in the position of the dolphin ion the new logo...This is not an everyday jump by any dolphin, it is in fact an extra "flair" they sometimes add to a normal jump when they are feeling extra frisky, which is why I choose this pose for my subject. It's not the norm, its extra energetic, its like a table-top jump on a dirtbike as opposed to just up and over....

that being said, the logo itself more resembles a dolphin in the seconds before the jump as he gives that last powerful thrust underwater to achieve the launch....THAT is when the dolphin generates his MOST power....THAT is the one that symbolizes the strength, grace and power of the Dolphin....not the lazy simple curved leap...

take this for what its worth...

I knew when I saw the logo that I had seen something similar before. Darren Rovell reminded me of it:

Right, that too...But I'd just assumed that'd be player preference. I can't imagine more than a couple of guys would wear that on any given day if that were the corresponding undershirt. If it were up to me, I'd say white undershirt. Can't really go wrong.

As far as the U's identity goes, I see what you're saying, and I agree and disagree. On one hand, I love the look, and I think it's something that we should emulate, but on the other, I don't want to lose our identity, either.

The issue is, it's tough to maintain the identity through modernization... Like, who here WOULDN'T want striped sleeves? But unfortunately, I think the logo is too modern for that to work. Especially considering that our numbers are probably going to more Oregon-y.

One thing I want to add is, I am really happy that we're doing the white-on-white helmets. U or not, it's become synonymous with Miami. Even the Heat have white on white jerseys now. Perhaps it's a homage to Crockett? Whatever, it works!

    Great job JT!

IMHO the choice of font for the number will be critical. And, I'm torn on something along the lines of what we have, or have had in the past, and a more modern style. I agree with those that have said the logo on the jerseys is overkill. Not sure if I would prefer stripes, or just nothing there. Little accents like the piping around the numbers will definitely play a factor in the overall look too. But, based on what we know, and what JT has mocked up, I think the chances are we're going to be happy with this new team look, and not embarrassed by it.

I will also say that I am not sure about the white face masks. And, I know I am in the minority here. But, to me, using a darker color (either aqua or navy) would add contrast. The white on white just looks a little too plain to me.

    Guilty as charged.

Didn't Crazy say the jerseys had the "DOLPHINS" script above the numbers like they currently do?

I admit that it's hard not to think less of someone's intelligence every time they make the whale comparison since it's been shown that it looks exactly like a dolphin.

No, that was me being stupid and classless. I usually have enough restraint to avoid posting everything that pops in my head. I just tend to get annoyed when I see the same comment over and over from the same poster. It makes me think they have nothing to add. Sorry.

Good spot! Like the logo even more now that you can see the whole thing. My remaining doubt was over whether the tail was upturned or not, from this it's more a flat tail with the main body launching upwards. Much more dynamic than a flat body with an upturned tail.

I think it's a great logo. (Personally, a "M" behind the Dolphin would have been great, but..ok..)

If I was FORCED to have this logo, I would just put the Dolphin in the traditional pose, for historic continuity.

One serious issue with the logo though.

it is a terrible logo for a ball cap. Will look great on T-shirts, and jersey's.
