I don't know about you guys, but I feel our suffering is about to subside a bit.. Excitement is in the air in late March and we have ton of draft picks that can impact our team. Philbin is establishing a great team identity and is proving to be both a hard *** and an intellectual coach. EXACTLY what this franchise needed. Ireland is cleaning up his image a bit and is taking chances that a Parcellian organization would never look at. Our logo is changing and our identity is transforming.

I for one cannot wait for 2013. We are due to break out of this funk with a weakened AFC East and a boatload of young talent.

Kinda, in that I am very interested to see what Tanny can do with some real WRs. I don't expect the playoffs this season though.

Gonna wait til after this draft. With that being said, I haven't been this anxious for a draft in a long time.

Actually, I am, in past yrs I had serious doubts heading into the year.

Some see holes at OT and Cb, I see teams winning with subpar talent there so to me it is not as important as it was say 10 yrs ago.

What I do see is guys who can make plays and average guys in positions that really don't matter.

Would still like to see a Cb or 2 added, otherwise I think we are in good shape for a team that basically missed the playoffs the last two years due to losses to the Bills and Jest, if we had swept we'd have been in the dance at least.

I'm also VERY, and I mean very excited to see how god awful the Jets and Bills are going to be..

  10. I'm still to nervous about Tanny to get excited without seeing improved play from him. Face it if he plays like he did last season, even with an improved WR corps, we are not going anywhere.

  11. I am also concerned about wheeler and ellerbee. Dansby and Burnet were both good players.

Dansby made 1 game changing play in 3 yrs, an Int to seal a win when the other team was driving, otherwise he was just avg.

I will miss Burnett b/c he brought attitude, otherwise, eh.

I haven't felt this good about the team since 2009, but I'm still nowhere near sold on Tannehill or Philbin. Both worry me.

Both of them did not know when to keep their mouth shut, espcially Burnett. I hear that last year a lot of players did not even want to talk to Dansby anymore. No matter what you said, he said the oppisite.

Its about time this team unloaded the clowns and jekwads.

I agree. We could improve overall and still end up with same record as last year. ON PAPER our schedule is brutal. I just want to see this team with Philbins guys play with Philbins philosophy. At least the draft is just around the corner.

I feel we need to hit on a difference maker in the draft to really take the next step to the playoffs.Currently we have only 1 on the roster and that is Cameron wake. The argument can be made for reshad jones and mike Wallace but we will see.I love the signing of Wallace but he is not a top 5 wr but he will stretch the field for us and as for jones I think he is an asending player but 1 year doesn't make a career.
Give me a true shutdown corner,or a Jason taylor like compliment to wake and another true game changer for tanny like tavon Austin.Ireland has 11 picks in this draft and he needs to find a star or we will looking at 8-8 or 7-9 again with this schedule.I am cautiously optimistic!

I stopped purchasing season tickets two years ago, after 35 years as a season ticket holder. I did so because of my disappointment in Ross retaining Sparano and Ireland after the 2010 season. I didn't go to any home games in 2011, but I missed the excitement of actually being at the stadium and I ended up attending six home games in 2012.

While I still have huge question marks concerning Ireland, I like the direction the team is headed under Philbin, so I have decided to purchase season tickets for the 2013 season. I also plan to attend the Dolphin game against the Bucs in Tampa.

My expectations for 2013 are realistic. I expect this team to continue to improve, but I will be surprised if they actually make the playoffs. I still think they are probably at least two years away from being a legitimate playoff contender, but depending on how their drafts picks develop in 2013, this could change.

I am looking forward to this coming season with more anticipation than I have in quite a few years.

Well, if you have a subpar MLB. Everybody here remembers how Zach Thomas locked down the field from the MLB position, if we can find somebody to be that sort of machine we'll be set.

Seems to me that Philbin wants to build a morally-based roster built on mutual respect and hard work with a sense of thankfulness. I wouldn't want it any other way! I am definitely excited, but doesn't it seem that no matter what this team does, they get no respect from the national media. All the cheap shots on how we've paid too much for the FA's, and whatnot. Winning cures many ails though.

And for the new logo/uni's, I believe it's a ploy to make us buy Madden this year! (How many have a "buy it every-other year" mantra? LOL!)

I think what separates this offseason from the last 10+ is that I don't feel that we have to resort to "how bad the jests and jills are going to be". We actually have some things to look forward to as Dolhpans, but it's always nice to see the the jests and jills struggle...heck we may even be seeing the downward edge of the pasties as well...

Seriously, I have to temper my enthusiasm for this team until the draft, but yeah, it's encouraging to be optimistic at this point. And looking forward to the draft as I haven't for several years...

I bought it last year, and can honestly say, I will never ever buy it again......and I've been buying it since Madden 64. I got into it the developers and they basically told me to piss off. It has been getting worse and worse the last decade, and 12 was just unplayable.

Well, now that the consoles are moving the X86 (PC) hardware, the developers are going to have to start over. Personally I hope they start to put it out on PC again, that way we aren't at the mercy of the developers to get it right (yay mods!)

Not excited or worried about the season yet. The draft is to important, so I am focused on that. I love the fact that we have so many picks this year and would welcome trading our early 2 for a 1 next year, unless there is someone there that we can't pass up. I have been so envious of how the pats have manipulated the draft, for years. Maybe this year is an example of how ours will be for a while.

Pretty much. The graphics get better while gameplay has gotten worse and worse and no franchise mode made the game useless for me. I played it a handful of times and never picked it up again, Ditto with NCAA 2013. I'll probably rent them this year out of curiosity, but no way I'm shelling out $120 for the garbage they've put out recently.

This is exactly why I got into it with them. I still had franchise mode, but going into the draft, you couldn't study the players and there was zero insight. That has been a favorite part of the game for me since day 1.
I only play franchise so nothing else they added was any value to me.

IF it goes back to PC, then I might try it, otherwise, EAsports can just bite me.

Can we get into this on another forum? I'm not being snarky either, I could go on for days about how much the Madden franchise sucks and how the NFL made a mistake by making their rights exclusive to EA. NFL2K is what got me into sports games.

In the end, last year's draft at Pick # 8 means more than any selection this year. Ryan Tannehill needs to be our biggest difference-maker. If he becomes that, everything else will take care of itself.
