Sigh. Leave it to the Tragic fan.

The NFL had already merged. And going UNDEFEATED is different than a winning streak. In that case..going UNDEFEATED was the goal. Not a win streak.

But hey, what do you expect? I'm talking about the nuances of both streaks in Basketball and It's not like Orlando has basketball anymore.

Thats like saying the 1928 Yankees werent the best team ever because they didnt play against the Negro Leagues. Bad argument imo. Agree to disagree.

Ugh....I think if you disqualify 40% of the best players because of the color of their skin,...yes..I would say it cheapens the accomplishment. Don't see how that is a bad argument.

    Let's make a deal.

I want to fight in the UFC. But I only want to face quadruple amputees.

I then guarantee that I will go undefeated and thus retire as the greatest fighter in MMA history.

For some reason you insist on always bringing my team into the discussion. I didn't say **** to disparage your precious Heat, but you couldn't resist hitting me when I'm down. Dickish move. This isn't Fanhell.

As far as what I was referring to, there are obvious differences between the Fins and Patriots records. The main being the different total of games played/ # of playoff teams. The way the 72 Dolphins don't give a **** about the Pats 18-1, the same way the Lakers give a that's *** about 27

I think its hilarious that no-one down here is sad, upset or whatever. We talked about it at work and the general reaction was how funny it is Chicago celebrated like they just won a title. Seeing them celebrate a REGULAR SEASON win like that made me realize how f***ing amazing this team is and how lucky I am to have this happening to my home area in my lifetime. The second reaction was "Oh well, 27 is still amazing. It will be another 40 years before anyone passes us". Third most popular reaction "The game was a lot different back then too. All things considered 27 is more impressive now than 33 back then".

I do think it's important that we stay focused and put together another nice run of 7 to 10 wins though. Congrats to the Bulls. Only way anyone would have cared about the streak ending is if the Knicks ended it when we were this close.

As to the Lakers not caring about 27....they shouldn't. The former ones have their record and the current ones should be worried about just making the playoffs.

    It's. My. Job.

Your argument is still flawed though. Dolphins played two playoff games and then won the super bowl.

Patriots failed to complete their three win postseason.

That has nothing to do with a winning streak. That only comes into play if the Heat was going for 72-10 and failed.

This streak is what it is. Arguably more impressive than the Lakers 33 in 71-72. That's it. That's my argument.

The streak being over sucked most of what little interest I have in late regular season NBA games. But it was fun while it lasted. About the only game I'm still interested in is the San Antonio game.

As for the streak, I think it will be added into the legacy of this team and Lebron. If they win the championship, then it will add to their argument as one of the best teams ever. And likewise for Lebron's individual legacy. If Lebron gets his ring count approximately in the range of Jordan's number than much of the argument for GOAT will be based on things that one did and the other didn't, like this streak and the Bulls winning 72 games.

If Lebron wins 5 rings and stays at his current level another 5-6 years...I will have NO problem calling him the best player ever.

I think he wins 5, maybe 6 if everything goes perfectly right for him for next 6-8 years.
That level hes playing at? 4-5 years of that and yes, the debate will come down to him and Michael. When he is done, he should also be #3, maybe even #2 on the all time scoring list as well, imo.

No, you are missing the point. Everybody here has made fun of the Knicks. It's easy. It's fun and the Knick fans here are usually good sports about it. You're the guy who takes it to the next level after the joke is over..

Person A) Lol Knicks lost again.
Person B) Man, they suck hahah
Person A) Yeah, yeah they do.

I think me and Boik take zero offense too what many people say, it's obvious some posters are so caught up in the NY/Miami rivalry as a whole in multiple sports, that the anger sometimes rears its head. Not saying this is Alex at all, but a certain UF homer who I won't mention is ridiculously combative with me and Boik....and the media.

Frazier is a HOF player and has been announcing games longer then you have been alive. I think he has a pretty good beat on things. And if you think hes strictly a homer Id beg to differ because if you ever listen to his broadcasts he is the first one to point out the Knicks flaws and give credit to the opposition.

Its his opinion. Whats the problem? Just like you have your opinion, I have mine and so on.

If hes saying its a weaker league hes including the Knicks in that statement. Its not blanketed by "except for the Knicks" or anything like that.

Being a HOF player and announcer doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. That's irrelevant, IMO.

Not too mention I think you will find all old veterans think that the Era they played in was better. Basketball, Baseball and football.

Deacon Jones made many remarks of how he could get 35 sacks in todays age, Ty Cobb saying he could bat .400 at 70 years old in the current era....bluh bluh bluh. FAR from a comment just to "hate oj the Heat" like u guys all like to believe.

It does give him some degree of qualification. Certainly having played against great teams and players gives him some degree of qualification since he did win a chip and all. If he had only been a HOF I would agree probably but hes stayed around the game and hes seen the good and the bad come and go. Its not irrelevant imo.

See and thats precisely why I think Frazier's comments are relevant. Hes said so many times that there were no players like Jordan, Lebron, Kobe during his era. It was height that won because there were no bigs. Hes qualified his statements by saying he wouldnt know what to do with any of those players so I think the last things hes doing is being genocentric (or generationally biased). Hes stated many times that this generation is much more athletic then his own but his generation had better fundamentals (because they had to). Listen to his broadcasts and he brings it up ID say at least once a week he will say something along those lines...

I think you either know what you're talking about, or you don't. Playing and/or commentating doesn't inherently give you credibility in my eyes because there's been more than a few players who have met those requisites and have been total baffoons.

I don't know enough about Walt Frazier's work to know how credible he is, or isn't. I agree when Fin-O says that it's likely an old guy who thinks the era he played in was the best, as is often the case with old players.

I totally agree that simply playing isnt enough, even if you were good or great like Frazier was. And like I said the reason i think Frazier is credible is because hes not inherently generationally biased and hes stayed around the game of basketball. He acknowledges the good and bad with each generations game.
