With the 83rd overall pick, the New York Giants are pleased to select:

    New York Giants Take:
The New York Giants continue to add depth to their D-Line with the addition of Brandon Williams, DT from Virginia. Williams is a strong 340lb disruptive 3-down DT capable of playing up and down the D-Line. He shows explosive power to collapse the pocket, is a force against the run and plays with more speed than expected froma man his size. In 2012 he set a school record with 8.5 sacks (2[SUP]nd[/SUP] most by available DT this draft) along with 68 tackles including 16.5 for a loss. Williams was just the third player in Division II history to be recognized as a three-time All-American, Williams earned an opportunity to prove himself against the nation's elite at the Senior Bowl and turned heads in doing so
The Giants look to use Williams in a rotation with Chris Canty and Linval Joseph.Williams the largest of the 3 DT’s will be asked to be a disruptive force upthe middle to allow their DE’s to pressure the pocket from the outside on passing downs, and along with 320lb Joseph look to clog up the middle in the run game to take pressure of the LB core. The Giants are excited to add his versatility to the defense.

With the 84th pick, the Houston Texans select...

    Justin Pugh, OG, Syracuse

Pugh was the 3rd ranked player when we made our pick in the 2nd round, so when he continued to fall we felt we had to move up for him. This guy should start day one for us at guard. He was a very good tackle in college and while we're confident that despite his shorter than ideal arms, he could play tackle if we needed him to, but we are already set at tackle and could use an upgrade at guard where he is even better suited. We feel with his athleticism, he is an excellent fit in our zone blocking scheme. For some reason offensive lineman have taken a big slide in this draft, and we are very happy that this was the case as our offensive line was in the greatest need of an upgrade and by adding Lane Johnson and now Justin Pugh it could become a strength.

    DJ Hayden, CB, Houston!!!

We contemplated going a number of ways with this pick, but ultimately felt that Hayden was the best player on the board. If not for his life threatening incident in November, we feel he'd be long gone by now, so we're comfortable taking him here even if some may think it's a reach. Doctor's say his wounds are fully healed, and he only has to go through one more test before resuming full contact. We don't anticipate him missing any time in our offseason program, though we understand it may take time to get back in game shape (although you might not know it based off how he looked at his pro day /DJ-drool).

Going forward, the pairing of Hayden and Taylor should make life difficult for QBs, especially those in the AFC East.

We projected Poyer to battle with 3rd round pick Josh Robinson for the slot duties. With the amount of passing we are expected to see, both should should get alot of playing time.

With the 87th pick in the NFL draft the Arizona Cardinals select... Josh Evans, FS, Florida. After Rambo slipped through our grasp we weren't going to risk losing out on another starting FS. After looking at a number of different prospects at FS we felt Evans was the best on the board. He played over the top allowing Elam to roam and make plays. While Elam may have gotten all the attention, Evans led the team in tackles and all-around showed he could assist the defense in a number of ways.

Evans plays aggressive and isn't afraid of hitting someone. Evans needs to bulk up a bit but right now he can start day one and help the team out in many areas.

With the 88th Selection of the 2013 draft, and the first pick for the Carolina Panthers, they select.....

    OG/OT Dallas Thomas -- Tennessee

    • Height: 6'5
    • Weight: 300lbs
    • Experience: 3 year starter at Tackle and Guard in SEC for Tennessee

The Panthers need help on the line, to protect Josh Freeman, so he can throw to his awesome WR corps of Calvin Johnson, Jeremy Maclin and Sydney Rice. Getting someone who has 3 years starting experience in the SEC at both Guard and Tackle, gives the Panthers flexibility to put Dallas anywhere that helps. Dallas' weaknesses are mostly strength and lower body issues that we believe can be easily fixed, and we plan to get him fired up and ready to go for the season!!!

We have a trade...thanks Titans... With the 89th pick the Rams select RB Montee Ball, Wisconsin.

    [video=youtube;vtzFN4hbCds]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtzFN4hbCds[/video]

Rams Take: Well I could watch that highlight video all day and I'm not even a big Eminem fan. Montee is a very good running back. I've been doing this GML thing for several years now. And I have to say getting Montee at the 89th pick is one of the best value picks I've ever had. And I've selected some good backs, Jonathan Stewart and Arian Foster (7th round) to name a couple. That comparison to Curtis Martin is right on cue. Ball has wonderful vision and balance when attacking the hole and then taking on defenders. His spirit after contact is superb. He runs with great body lean, always moving forward. And he's got a great bubble. He's in the perfect weight range for a back his size. There was some consideration with another back who has not yet been taken who times faster but IMO is slower to the hole. You can have a back that runs a 4.4 but if he doesn't hit the hole fast, the correct hole, he's not going to have a chance to show his speed. Montee runs a 4.59 and while that's not ideal, neither was Emmitt Smith's 40 time when he came out.... nor Curtis Martin. A tenth of a second in the 40 doesn't matter if you have a defender squaring you up and you can't run around or thru them.

Montee will fit in wonderfully with our existing running backs. Ahmad Bradshaw, Isaiah Pead and now Ball with Ganaway and Starks. It's a nice mix of differing styles and they will thrive behind our all star offensive line.

Paired with Charles Godfrey, we feel Tj Mcdonald will excell. Considering we have Captain Munerlyn back at nickle, with Sean Smith and Brandon Browner bringing a HUGE defensive backfield, Tj next to the vet Godfrey will succeed right away.

The New York Jets have traded the 95th selection in the 2013 GML Draft to the Cincinnati Bengals, from their bulletin they have selected...

With the 95th pick the Cincinnati Bengals select SS DJ Swearinger, South Carolina. We are thrilled to see Swearinger fall this far and decided to trade up to secure him. Swearinger will compete with Antrel Rolle at SS and could see the field in a 3 safety set with Reggie Neslon and Rolle.

    With pick 3c1 Pittsburgh selects

    Jonathon Bostic,ILB Florida

    OVERVIEW
Like most Florida Gators prospects, Bostic was a highly regarded prep athlete who could have signed with virtually any program out of school. After picking the Gators over the likes of Miami, LSU, Florida State and Clemson, Bostic emerged as one of Florida's best young defenders, leading all freshmen with 18 total tackles in 2009.
Bostic appeared in all 13 games a year later, starting six games and demonstrating surprising instincts and ball-skills for an inside linebacker by picking off three passes in his first extended duty.

While he never matched his 2010 success as an interceptor, Bostic emerged as one of the Gators' leading tackles, topping the team with 94 stops in 2011 before dropping to a disappointing third with 68 tackles in 2012 to close out his career in Gainesville.

Instinctive, physical and productive against quality competition, Bostic ranks as one of the better no-nonsense run-stuffing inside linebackers of the 2013 draft class. As his five career interceptions and 7.5 sacks attest, he's also capable of contributing against the pass -- traits which should help him earn a selection during the late second to mid third days of the draft.

    ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS: Instinctive, physical football player who doesn't back down from a challenge. Reads the action well and is faster to the ball than he might appear on the track. Closes with aggression, bringing his hips and driving through the ball-carrier to flash the ability to make the big hit. Seems to enjoy the physicality of the game, rushing to take on fullbacks and pulling linemen.
Does a nice job of keeping square and taking on blocks aggressively, rarely losing ground. Slides off blocks to make the tackle if the ball-carrier gets close. Good strength for the drag down tackle. Keeps his eyes on the quarterback when dropping into coverage and shows some understanding of route development, slipping into holes to thwart passing opportunities. Good ball skills for the position. Times his blitzes well.

Natural special teams candidate due to his aggression, physicality. Vocal team leader.

WEAKNESSES: While Bostic is quick to take on blockers, he isn't necessarily quick to shed them. Appears to have shorter than ideal arms and will lose sight of the ball when battling with blockers. Appears to possess just adequate sideline-to-sideline speed and may struggle to protect the edge against speedier NFL ballcarriers.

A bit stiff in his upper body and can be eluded in the open field. Relies on his eyes rather than athleticism when in coverage and will likely struggle in this area in the NFL, making him likely a two-down linebacker.

COMPARES TO: David Hawthorne, ILB, New Orleans Saints -- Just as "The Heater" has done for the Saints and previously the Seattle Seahawks, Bostic will make a club as an effective run-stuffing middle linebacker despite a lack of top-notch speed.

After a couple other LB came off the board Pitt Gm was happy that Bostic was still available. Bostic has the attitide and ethic Pittsburgh loves and we feel he can contribute right away.

With the 97th Pick in the 2013 GML Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select ...

    jordan mills, ot, louisiana tech

It was rumored that the Vikings watched not one, but two of their targets move off the board over the course of the last couple of picks. Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention.

Having lost starting right tackle Phil Loadholt through a contract snafu earlier in the offseason, the Vikings apparantly felt the need to strenthen their offensive line by adding Mills to the team. Mills is a small school prospect who really held his own during Senior Bowl week, apparantly impressing the Vikings enough to select him early here in Round 4.

    Measurables
    • Position: Offensive Tackle
    • University: Louisiana Tech
    • Height: 6'5
    • Weight: 316 lbs
    • Arm Length: 34 inches
    • Hands: 9 3/4 inches
With both Barry Richardson and Max Starks on the roster, Mills faces an uphill battle to break into the Day 1 starting lineup, but we wouldn't rule it out. He offers tremendous upside at a variety of offensive line positions and may find himself in the starting lineup sooner, rather than later.

    Here's a scouting report from NFL.com:

Minnesota needed to strengthen their offensive line in the draft. In selecting Mills, they've done just that. He's a physcial, versatile player that offers intrguing upside here early in Round 4.

With the 100th pick in the 2013 GML Draft, the 49ers select:

    Mike Glennon, QB, N.C. State

    [video=youtube;9Tqj7oSeWpk]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Tqj7oSeWpk[/video]

Without a doubt, the 49ers needed to find a backup to Alex Smith in this draft. Some had 2nd round grades on Glennon, others, not so high. The 49ers feel that taking Glennon with the 100th overall pick is solid value as he should sit behind Smith and learn. Glennon could arguably have the strongest arm amongst quarterbacks in this draft. His tall stature and arm alone made him appealing for 49ers at this pick. A huge flaw in Glennon's game is his pocket mobility, but if given time in the pocket, he should be able to work his magic.

With the 101st Pick in the 2013 GML Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select ...

john simon, de, ohio state university

The Minnesota Vikings are very excited to select Defensive End John Simon. Let's get the cliches out of the way. Simon is a "classic overacheiver," a "high motor guy" who is "relentless" when it comes to pursuit of the quarterback. It's a fancy way of saying he may be maxed out as an athlete, and scouts don't know if his skills can translate to the NFL.

Let's look at it another way. Simon is the kind of play DJ would draft in the first round. He's a physical freak, undeniably strong. It's rumored that he put up 38 reps on the bench press and can run something like a 4.6 40 yard dash. You couple that with strong leadership skills (Team Captain) and tremendous heart (2012 B1G player of the year, third team All American), and you have the makings of a special football player. He is exactly the type of guy we want on the team moving forward. We've got no qualms being able to pick him up here early in Round 4.

    Measurables
    • Position: Defensive End
    • University: Ohio State
    • Height: 6'1
    • Weight: 257 pounds
Simon will most likely find his playing time for us as a situational pass rusher, where we can match him up against the less athletic tackles of the NFL and allow him to wreck havoc. We also expect him to contribute on special teams, a role we anticipate he will embrace and excel in.

Here's a scouting report from the National Football Post:

Every year you hear about someone making a roster who wasn't expected to. We believe that John Simon is that exact type of player. He may be a little limited physically, but he has tremendous drive and heart. We're happy to add him to the team here early in Round 4.

    New York Giants Take:
The New York Giants were excited to see local Brooklyn native Oday Aboushi available with the 104[SUP]th[/SUP] overall pick. Aboushi is a tall 6-6, 310 tackle that started all 25 games at LT the last 2 seasons and 5 games at RT as a sophomore at Virginia earning himself 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] team ACC honors in 2011 and 1[SUP]st[/SUP] team ACC honors in 2012. Aboushi will audition for the starting RT position with James Brewer and Brandon Mosley but will more likely be pushed inside as a Guard. He has good size, top heavy, tough and gritty trench temperament suited for a power based offense, is physical at the point of attack and aggressive getting to the second level as a blocker.
The Giants like Aboushi’s versatility at the tackle position and feel in time he could be an excellent starting RT and will be first one called on should starting LT Beatty suffer an injury. He figures to get the call at one of the inside Guard positions next year but could push Brewer for the starting RTposition. The Giants have always liked versatile OL players, capable of playing multiple positions; we believe Aboushi is one of those players.

Coming into the offseason we had Matt Hasslebeck on our roster to be a consistent backup. We felt as a team that his $7 mill a year salary was above value for a back up quarterback. We were able to replace him in the 4th round with what we consider to be one of the better options at QB in the draft. With a young core at QB on our team we feel that we will have success at the position going forward.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1664604/logan-ryan

    How Ryan Fits in Seattle:
Seattle uses a man coverage scheme with some zone mixed in on occasion. We tend to lean towards bigger, more physical corners and Ryan fits the bit. He is a bit raw at the position being a former HS QB/RB who converted to corner but we like his potential and ability to learn the position as he has done relatively well so far. As our 5th CB he will have time to continue to learn at the NFL level and continue to evolve as a player.

Though we added some talent at cornerback during free agency with Powers, we felt that Blidi Wreh-Wilson would be a nice fit as depth then eventual starter for our team. Blidi is a large corner which adds another dimension to our defensive backfield, who are mostly smaller corners. Blidi had a really solid senior bowl, after a solid career at Connecticut. We feel Blidi Wreh-Wilson is a steal in the 4th round.

Wow, it looks like I have a lot of expectations to live up to here as the General Manager of the New York Jets. With picks #110 to #114, I want to thank the rest of the league for only taking one player off my board. Yes I’m looking at the ‘Aints.

With the 110th selection in the 2013 GML Draft the New York Jets draft out of Kent State, OG Brian Winters.

Brian Winters has the ability to step in and be a starter from day one, but is expected to compete with Vladimir Ducasse for the left guard position.

    Analysis:

Brian Winters is quick off the snap and loves one on one battles with defensive lineman. He’s strong and has great balance stemming from his experience as a collegiate wrestler but will grab too high and possibly lose battles against smarter, veteran lineman early on.

Has experience all over the line and played in all 49 career games. The combination of quick burst, strength and finishing ability put Winters second on our depth chart for guards right after Kentucky’s Warford, we here at the Jets organization are happy to walk away with this young man.

With the 111th selection in the 2013 GML Draft the New York Jets draft out of The University of North Carolina, LB Kevin Reddick.

Demario Davis is expected to start next to David Harris but we feel Kevin Reddick could take that role if he has a good camp.

    Analysis:

You can describe Reddick as intelligent and hardworking who’s had his motor question but I feel it’s more of him playing within the safe confines of his ability he sets for himself. He’ll fulfill his assignments but should be taught he can do more. A four year starter with two of those being a captain on the team, Reddick gives us the ability to blitz from the inside spots from our 3-4. He’ll be solid, but some coaching might be able to coax him to find some of the potential that made him a possible higher selection last year.

With the 112th selection in the 2013 GML Draft the New York Jets draft out of Louisiana State University, CB Tharold Simon.

We have a deep group of young defensive backs, but felt we needed more size and someone that we can groom as a starter down the line if either Kyle Wilson or Antoine Cason don’t live up to our expectations. Tharold Simon has the size and playmaking ability we want in a future starter.

    Analysis:

Tharold Simon is a bit raw and would have been better served staying in school for one more season, but his ability is something that can be advanced with the right coaching. He has quick read and react skills and playmaking ability as seen by his 22 pass breakups and 7 interceptions. Simon will need to learn to use his hands better, but can learn the proper hand fighting technique to succeed.

With the 113th selection in the 2013 GML Draft the New York Jets draft out of Georgia Southern, S JJ Wilcox.

With Glover Quin on board we feel our safety position has been upgraded but some competition is needed for Antonio Allen.

    Analysis:

Wilcox has only spent a year at safety but is athletic and has the build to play the position. He started out as a receiver and will be more of a coverage strong safety than a pure in the box safety. He might take a season or two to groom but has the upside and ability we want out of our defensive back unit.

With the 114th selection in the 2013 GML Draft the New York Jets draft out of Arkansas, QB Tyler Wilson.

We ecstatic that we have Joe Flacco, but aren’t as happy with our backups. Enter the man who will learn behind Flacco.

    Analysis:

Tyler Wilson will play Russian roulette and stare down incoming defenders. He’s show that he can take a hit and get up. Wilson has a strong arm in the intermediate game and is a quiet leader but needs to quicken up his release and can float balls on deep routes. Should have came out last year, but still capable of being a starter in the league.

    New York Giants Take:
The New York Giants feel they have created a balanced backfield with the addition of Johnathan Franklin with the 115[SUP]th[/SUP] overall pick. Franklinis a smooth, one cut runner who shows patience setting up his blocks and ample speed to get to the outside and turn up field. He has proven to be a strong 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] down back as a competitive blocker and shows excellent hands as a receiving option out of the backfield, solid change of pace back. His numbers over his 4 years at UCLA are impressive with 43 starts, 4403 rushing yards and 4920 all-purpose yards. In 2012, as a senior Franklin had his best season yet. Franklin carried the ball 282 times for 1,734 yards (6.1 yard avg) and 13 touchdowns. Franklin was a driving force behind UCLA’s first-place finish inthe Pac-12 South Division. Franklin earned a second-team All-Pac-12 selection.
Franklin will battle veteran Ronnie Brown for the 3[SUP]rd [/SUP]RB position with the Giants next year and will see some duties as a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]down back. The Giants are excited that Franklin has the chance to learn from Brown to help improve his blocking and pass catching skills. Franklin has the chance to be a similar back to Warrick Dunn and have a long strong career.

With the 119th pick in the NFL draft the Arizona Cardinals select... Keith Pough, OLB, Howard.

Pough is the all-time leader in Tackles for loss in the FCS with 71. Pough has everything you look for in a great LB. He is a natural athlete, good instincts, high motor, high energy guy. He will be groomed to play on the strong side for the Cardinals.

With the 120th overall draft selection, the Miami Dolphins select...
    LE'VEON BELL, RB, MICHIGAN STATE
    [IMG]

The Dolphins are thrilled to add a power back to complement the electrifying Lamar Miller in Le'Veon Bell. Bell may not be more than a short yardage back in his rookie season however he will certainly push Daniel Thomas for playing time with Dion Lewis still in the mix. At the end of the day, the Dolphins knew that they needed some extra "umph" at the running back position and believe Bell will do just that. He has the strength, size, and instincts to be a successful NFL player. The Dolphins have a lot of youth at the position but have high expectations for the likes of Miller, Thomas, Bell, and Lewis. Welcome to Miami, Le'Veon!
