    He shortchanged Austin's height at 5'7, he's 5'8 .5

I seriously don't understand how anyone at this point, can't see the difference in Ireland pre and post Parcells. Its straight up denial or agenda based to deny the difference...there is simply no other logical reason. More than that, I don't know how anyone can say they can predict who Ireland is going to or not take, he has no real pattern.

This whole thing may blow up in his face and expose him as a fraud, but he's doing things completely different with Philbin than he did with Parcells.

Absolutely, that's cause Mando's gonna Mando (which is just a latin version of Cole's gonna Cole), but he's far from the only one still making these assumptions.

I'll just post what some guy said in the comment section.

" You made some points but let's at least get the facts straight. Austin is exactly 5'8"1/2, not 5'7". He also benched 225 pounds 19 times at the combine, ther are some LBs who struggle to do that. He has never missed a game in college or high school. If you look at his build he is well muscled, he's not frail in the least, he's just short. He's within a whisker of being just as big as Wes Welker, DeSean Jackson and ex Dolphin great Mark Clayton. If you watch this guy, you'll see the most electifying player to come out in awhile. He just MIGHT walk on water!"

He gets the details wrong but he's right that Miami aren't drafting him, which I've said all along.

That comment is pretty ridiculous, and ironically enough, he gets his 2nd fact wrong. He didn't bench 225 19 times.

Also, for what it's worth - I heard the same thing. Like literally 12 hours before Armando did...

Okay I should have read the article, that's my fault. I read the last line of "He just MIGHT walk on water" and I started to roll my eyes. Didn't realize he was referencing something Armando said.

But still I'm a bit disappointed Im being fed the same information as Armando Salguero, makes me think I'm being given smoke screens now.

IMO this is pretty good news for Austin fans as the odds of Armando being wrong are generally pretty high.

Part of me wishes someone would take him before our pick so we don't kick ourselves for passing on him.

What if I claim to know what Miami IS doing?

I am not, at least not with our current roster, as big on Austin as most in here are, but it would be far from a bad thing if he was our pick at 12. Arm-and-Oh, as always, has no clue.

The fact that Arm-And-Oh is making headlines in Thephins is laughable. The man is a picture of slight of hand and misdirection all culminating in.....absolute nothingness.

The scoring TDs without being touched thing strikes me as a stat that lacks context. I doubt anyone here has enough experience tracking how many touchdowns a wide receiver scores without being touched in college to where they can tell if that's a good or a bad thing. Could go either way. Put a different way, scoring 14 TDs without even being touched could be evidence that a guy had it easy in college where players are significantly slower than him. He'll be physically challenged more in the NFL by players that can get their hands on him, and so maybe that stat suggests he'll disappear once that happens?

If Miami doesn't draft Tavon Austin at 12 they'll be going completely against the curve in terms of who they've shown interest in for the 12th pick. So far it's mostly WRs and DTs. A trade is very likely my guess being down. If it isn't Tavon Austin who else could it be really? You don't just do limited interviews sign another prospect and the suddenly take him at 12.

I still think we trade the 12 for a current NFL starter.

Or trade down then trade a pick for an NFL starter.

It's an Anglicism, mate. Team names are considered a plural subject. e.g., "Manchester U are playing like a bunch of wankers, today."

I also know that nobody can predict or say that just because a kid is bigger or smaller whether or not he is going to get hurt more easily, but being somebody that is a Mech Eng and studies two bodies in motion colliding for a living, lets just say that the laws defined by Sir Isaac Newton do not favor a kid his size. There is Potential as well as Kinetic energy playing against him each and every play.

What you suggest, and what I am saying are my key reasons for not being completely gung-ho on the kid. I watched him run at will all over Oklahoma. Watched and rewatched that game actually. I was both amazed and amused....but, that Oklahoma defense was NOT very good, and I couldn't help but think he looked like a High School kid that was just that much faster and quicker than everybody else, but was also thinking that if a linebacker ever got a bead on him, it was all over...that of course never happened, and the kid put up incredible numbers...but the NFL is an entirely different animal, and sooner or later somebody is going to lay a snot-licker on him.

It's all moot unless we look at all the receivers tds..

I like the point though, think it is reflective of his unique compact explosiveness and lateral agility.

No thanks. I am of the opinion that he is not close to being ready to come back. Good reason he wasn't traded already.

That and the fact his current salary would SERIOUSLY handcuff us financially, and it will only be a year of solid play before he is demanding more....again.....

Way too simplistic, IMO. Speed, agility, quickness and awareness provide as much injury protection as size. Actually, more.

The Oklahoma defense lacked no amount of talent, IMO. It was schematically ambushed. Very similar to when the Dolphins schematically ambushed the Patriots with the wildcat in 2008.
