Tried to do one with minimal trades down, and with the inflexible goal of taking Tavon, regardless of other cirumstances... I ended up adding a lot of explosive YAC players, but ****ed myself on the Oline as all the guys I wanted were taken befor eI could get to them.. even the value picks like Menelik, Xavier, B Winters and Schwenke. Great offensive players, great help at CB and FS, plus DE. Very little Oline help. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 12: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia (A) Round 2 Pick 10: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame (A) Round 2 Pick 23 (G.B.): Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida State (B-) Round 3 Pick 15: B.W. Swearinger, FS, South Carolina (B+) Round 4 Pick 21 (CINN): Jordan Reed, TE, Florida (B+) Round 4 Pick 22 (WASH): Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati (B+) Round 5 Pick 13: D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston (A-) Round 5 Pick 33 (COMP): Zac Stacy, RB, Vanderbilt (C) Round 7 Pick 11: Earl Watford, OG, James Madison (A-) Round 7 Pick 18: Eric Breitenstein, FB, Wofford (F) Round 7 Pick 44 (COMP): Corey Broomfield, FS, Mississippi State (F) Breitenstein was a mistake. I meant to click on his name to see some info on him, and selected him by mistake. Can;t miss with a Wofford player though.
Hey, I can bring 32 to rookie mini-camps, okay? Then I cut a third of them, like American Idol's Vegas week. Or is that So You Think You Can Dance? Or is it both...? Anyways.
Man, moving up just doesn't happen. I offered #44 and #47 to move up to #26 to grab Lane Johnson who fell and they just flat out refused. Of course he gets taken #27. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 19 (NYG): Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina (A) Round 2 Pick 11 (T.B.): Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina (A-) Round 2 Pick 12 (CAR): Arthur Brown, OLB, Kansas State (B+) Round 2 Pick 15 (DAL): Barrett Jones, C, Alabama (B) Round 2 Pick 22: Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida State (B-) Round 3 Pick 15: Jonathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International (A) Round 3 Pick 20: B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary (A) Round 4 Pick 14: D.J. Swearinger, FS, South Carolina (B+) Round 4 Pick 15 (T.B.): Jordan Reed, TE, Florida (B) Round 4 Pick 19 (NYG): Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State (B) Round 4 Pick 29 (T.B.): Xavier Nixon, OT, Florida (B) Round 5 Pick 13: D.J. Plus, I have a new H Back and TE. Cooper is immediately starting at LG, while Jones is given the chance to beat out Incognito for RG. Nixon is my RT, competing with John Jerry and whoever else (brain freeze here...) One of those CBs should develop into a dependable boundary guy. Tried to grab Xavier Rhodes but he was grabbed RIGHT before my pick. Cooper was the backup plan. I got 2 2nd round guys in the 4 and 5. And either Cyprien or Swearinger will develop into the safety of the future. Carradine is hated for whatever reason but he'd immediately start, assuming he stayed healthy, so our secondary got a lot stronger in 1-2 years, our pass rush has improved, we've got back up plans to allow Starks/Soliai to walk, and I took a flier on a monster WR for the redzone. Oh and TE is secured. Arthur Brown plays spot duty eventually challenging for the spot Koa Misi is sitting in. Long story short this is like cheating. And now the draft is ruined because Im fully wanting Miami to move to #14 for a 2nd rounder.
I dub this one.... The Brady Bunch of Concussions ........ with a side of turnovers We've now got a pressure cooker of a front 7 properly matched with a ball-hawking secondary, and lots of future salary trimmed as there won't be a need next year to re-sign Dustin Keller & Incognito; Patterson & Carpenter are adios; and Starks & Misi are on the trade block.
Well, that was fun. Wish it was that easy to trade down in real life...anyway, here's my first attempt. I will be trying again! Round 1 Pick 19 (NYG): Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia (A) Round 2 Pick 10: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State (B+) Round 2 Pick 15 (DAL): Devin Taylor, DE, South Carolina (C-) Round 2 Pick 17 (NYG): Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State (B) Round 2 Pick 22: Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati (D+) Round 3 Pick 15: Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M (B) Round 3 Pick 18 (DAL): Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State (B-) Round 3 Pick 20: D.J. Coming out of the 1st round with Austin, Johnson and Lotulelei, and still with five 2nd and 3rd round picks....in real life, arise Sir Ireland of Miami. Edit - just noticed your 'Future Draft Pick' grade, you've been a naughty boy.

My biggest problem to be honest was that they wouldn't let me draft guys like D.J. Hayden, Dennis Johnson, Marquess Wilson and Mark Harrison as early as I wanted to. I was BARELY able to get Mark Harrison, and he was only available for me to get on my final compensatory pick #250 overall. And they wouldn't let me draft Peter Lalich at all. My only regret with all the trade downs was missing out on Devin Taylor. Getting Tank Carradine makes it stupid to regret that but I still like Taylor nonetheless and I took like 36 players so Taylor should be one of them.
Bostic fan here (as a mid-round pick). Nabbed him (after trade downs) with 4th pick in 3rd round. He has some big flaws but with coaching and aggression - I think he can become a starting ILB. Needs to be more aggressive; learn to read plays better and improve how he takes on OL.
That was a frustration. I missed 2-3 guys (including Hayden) because of that. Kept looking, couldn't draft, traded down then they were off the board. But, still a blast doing this.

To be honest, that protected me from myself. I would have taken Stedman Bailey WAY sooner, for instance and missed out on additional high talent plus extra picks from trades. Maybe the lesson is that we would have a better haul if we waited for some guys... Even if we missed one guy we liked.
Wow. Love that draft class. You'd have gotten an A+ if the guys running the site knew anything about Stedman Bailey.
I am so ****ing spoiled for the real draft now. If Ireland doesn't bring home 22 Pro-Bowlers I'll feel like he is clearly incompetent compared to us.

Or why the Jack Doyle and Matt Scott love?? (that's not an attack on you, I just can't believe those guys get an A and Stedman is a D) Confounding. I suspect they go too much off measurables and Stedman is neither tall nor fast.
I don't think they like Scott or Doyle. I think they will give you an A grade in the 7th regardless of who you draft.
I will admit, trading down 100 times in the first only to grab eifert late in the first and then having like a million 2nd round picks is really fun .
How about trying to make it realistic? One trade down allowed..... but in the 3rd round when you're not given ridiculously excessive value? Who can be the first to get straight A's? BTW, the Carradine hate is ridiculous. Can't even draft him if you're looking for a great score b/c he's almost always a B- even though he almost never lasts past the 2nd round. I don't know how any of you get to draft Austin without trading up. Every single time I've done it, he gets taken at 11th overall.
