more than half the time when I miss out on Tavon at #12, (sometimes the rams trade ahead of me and grab him, or pick #11 grabs him).

but oddly enough, more often than not, the jets take tavon like 75% of the time on this game for me with their first pick..... hmmmmmmm

SD took him most of the time when I did the game. I think I was able to get him only the first time I played. I think they CHEAT.

If I really want to get a mock for myself going where i for sure get Austin in that game, i just spam end it and start it over to see how long it takes.

Maybe its just a randomized coincidence on my part, but..... its weird that the jets are getting Tavon upwards of 80% of the times i play the game... wasn't the consensus like them going straight D-line or something?

One time I did a trade down for the Vikings 2 first rounders, and I noticed Eric Fisher going 17th or so. No way in hell he goes that low.

Not sure why people should be striving for a high "score" on this thing. But it was kind of fun to trade down constantly and then pull in 36 of my favorite players, literally more than a third of my entire draft board.

You know what would be cool though would be if the software that runs the game was sophisticated enough to sense and learn from the global picks that all the fans are making for the teams, and so the software is able to run more sophisticated prediction models for those picks based on those trends.

Initially when I saw the game that's what I thought it might be doing and I thought it was genius...but it turned out to just be mechanical based on a bunch of inputs that the game's creators arbitrarily decided.

That wouldn't be too hard to do with the existing system they have in place I shouldn't think.
It'd also be good if they incorporated a draft pick points chart so the trades are more realistic.

Yeah there's a lot of things that I would change.

You could have the computerized picks "learn" from global user tendencies so as to make more accurate computer picks. You could could allow the user to propose trade ups and trade downs, have the software gather data from the PROPOSED trades as well as the successful ones, and tie the chances of a trade proposal succeeding to some combination of the chart value being offered and the tendency of other users picking with that team to trade up or down.

It would be a game but also be a market information gathering tool. If you polished it up well enough you could sell the thing to ESPN whole and then ESPN website users would be playing the game (which means more market input) and ESPN could even incorporate mock drafts and player rankings based on the information gathering tool on its television shows.

Percentage based software that changes based on historical trends or votes really isn't that hard to do, so its not a tall order

The difference between that idea and the game we are currently playing.... one word. funding.

The game seems to be a pretty clever game based of just lists of inputs that any fan or group could do with alot of time on their hands... it doesnt seemed to be based off a database that is too 'in depth'. My guess is they also probably don't update anything once the hard numbers are in. for a free program its pretty dope, anything past this would be moving into $$$ territory unless you can still pirate pretty well.

Its relatively easy to trick this hting, based on people's previous drafts.

I have a hard time declaring any draft that Miami leaves without an OT a success but hey maybe Eifert does in fact fall to our 2nd rounder on a regular basis.

Then we get Carradine in the 3rd (and give it a B lol) or Bailey in the 5th

My favorite draft I've done yet. Building in the rumor that Miami may be interested in trading back into round 1, I think this is the most realistic scenario I've had play out yet...other than Gavin Escobar.

Why could that not be realistic in your opinion? I agree it is a good haul, but it also looks plausible to me.
I think if we do this draft game on that web site, but just ignore the trades, we're likely to get a more realistic result.

I consistently have Lane Johnson, Xavier Rhodes and Star available at 12. Jarvis Jones keeps going top 6 and Tavon Austin keeps getting picked by San Diego.

Just went a bit crazy with accumulating picks. Still missed on certain players. But, I also think I got one of the most certain players in the draft and then landed WRs and CBs that I like. The trading is just wild.

Round 2 Pick 3 (PHI): D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston (C)

Round 2 Pick 17 (NYG): Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida State (B-)

Round 2 Pick 23 (G.B.): Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State (C)
Round 2 Pick 27 (N.E.): Akeem Spence, DT, Illinois (A-)

Question for those that are more familiar with this game. How do you get the team that is on the clock to trade their current pick? In other words, when I go to propose a trade, that pick is always grayed out. So, I can't select it.

I can trade back no problem, but have yet to figure out how to trade up.

It's grayed because that pick is already selected as the pick you want when you hit 'Propose trade', you then click on which of your own picks to offer in exchange before hitting 'Propose trade' again. Or you can suggest additional picks for the other team to give up in exchange if you want to balance their value against yours.

You only get one chance to offer, if the team accepts you'll see the trade details, if it doesn't you'll just see them selecting a player or accepting another team's trade offer.
