My iPhones have never crashed. Very reliable in my experience. Though I have been disappointed with the iPhone5. Going to wait to see what the next gen entails, but there is a good chance I move over to Galaxy S4. I am very intrigued by the Ubuntu OS for Android.
Osx is a fantastic OS no question. But if you're not using it for complex multitasking and file management then it's really pointless to pay up to 3 times more for a computer used for Web surfing, light word processing and some photo editing. Most computing can be done with tablets or phones now anyway.
A Gmail account signs you up for lots of stuff: YouTube, Drive, Calender, Google Now, Docs, Google Plus. They also have Chrome books out that use your Gmail to use.
To be fair iphones have done a lot of things. Also when we had that discussion, I was dealing with a 2nd generation Droid that had a battery life of poop. With ICS and now Jelly Bean the glitchiness of Android has gone away. Which also to be fair is something that it took Apple a couple of generations to really shake loose fully. Im on a first generation Razr Maxx which works fine since I got it about a year ago...waiting for one of two phones I know coming down the pipeline that I cant talk about since I work for a certain cell provider Without coming across as a snob as much as possible....Working with cell phones for the last 8 years and with Apple phones in particular for the last few, I see a pretty equal amount of foot traffic in my store regarding service issues on apple phones despite the fact there are two apple stores within 10 miles of where I work. Power and center button all day bro lol. Not to say it doesnt happen with droid or windows phones; it does. They all have their frozen moments. My Macbook is nice and pretty much glitch free and thats what I was aiming for. I think the quality on the computers feels a lot better to me then the phone. But like I said, there are certain things I miss about PC. Not going to trade my Macbook in anytime soon since its only like 3 years old but I might go for a Surface Pro tablet over an iPad so I can have the best of everything....
Boik, out of curiosity, those two phones you were talking about "coming down the pipeline" you can't talk talk about them because they haven't been officially announced?
I think android is about to make a huge jump if the X phone does as well as I think it will. As a spec whore, I really want that phone. It works. It's beautiful. If they update the camera firmware, it'll have a great low light 10 MP camera. Right now android has the powerhouse in the S4, the beautiful HTC One, the rugged Xperia series, the phablet Note, Optimus, Xperia, and soon to be One version, the minis from Samsung and now HTC, the cheap but functional BLU phones, the developer heralded nexus series, and a host of other market catering phones. What android needed was a phone that worked out of the box for even your grandparents. This one is that phone. It has near vanilla android, visual customizations, sleep mode notifications, amazing battery life, excellent Google now integration, and it should have great OS support. Google isn't in the business of selling phones regardless of the fact that they own Motorola mobility; they're an ad company. If I were Google, I'd take all of that information and go on a media blitz to show just how far android has come. Sent from my GT-P3110 using Tapatalk 2
Make no mistake, Google bought Motorola to avoid patent lawsuit issues, it was a purely defensive move..had to study their business model thoroughly in college and that is what it boiled down to, mtn of cash meets potential liabilities in terms of vaguely granted patent lawsuits.
The Iphone 5S and iO7 contain rather pedestrian advancements. iOS7 actually steals a bunch of stuff from Android. THEY SHOULD SUE!!!! People who like Apple are going to think whatever they do is great but Apple certainly doesn't mean innovation anymore.
Excellent case study on how tech saavy some iPhone users are.* http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ke-iPhone-waterproof-claimed-fake-advert.html If you think software can make your phone waterpoof, you have problems.*
Wow. I think as ridiculous as the people were that thought software could make their phone waterproof, its equally ridiculous to think that stupidity is unique to Apple users.
It's not unique to all users. Just in this case, to the select number of users who actually wrecked their phone/tablet.
Gotta wonder if these users will simply re-purchase their apple product and re-sync their data. See, if this move was covertly made by Apple themselves, it's genius. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3302
Android gets software updates in a far different and manner but I suppose.* I guess the point is that Android usually appeal more to people that like customizing their mobile experience therefore understands how tech works.* The appeal to Apple, to some, is you don't really have to know much about the product to actually use it.*
This is an awesome line. So you think anyone who likes Apple thinks they are great and Apple doesn't innovate anymore because, well, you said so and because you think Apple sucks? You started a thread to whine about a company. That's even funnier. You have taken time out of your life to whine incessantly about the company and it's products. That's funniest! I'm an unabashed Apple fanboy. My wife and I have the 5S, we had the 4S and the 3GS. The only complaint I've ever had about any of them is the battery life on the 5S is a little mediocre. It's better after some fixes. To say the 5S had "pedestrian advancements" is quite funny, it's light years ahead of my 4S. I have a first generation iPod Nano. From 2005-2011 the thing got used and abused everyday, still works perfectly today. iPad 2? Works like a charm. My iMac is 5 years old. It gets used and abused everyday. Never run a virus scanner. In that 5 years I've done a grand total of nothing to it, besides run the standard cleaning programs to empty dead files. Still runs the same as it did the day I bought it. In the previous 5 years, before Mac, I built or modified 3 different PC's. I would not go back to a PC for all the ****ing tea in China, unless I wanted a gaming rig but I don't PC game so that is irrelevant. I don't buy Apple products so I can say "look at me, I own Apple this or that, I'm the greatest". I buy them because they work seamlessly for my needs and they are quality items. I don't think I'm "smarter than anyone" because I buy Apple products. I do it because it's my choice. Some people are perfectly happy with their Android device, good for you. Happy with your PC? That's fantastic! I did my time with PCs, I found someting that for me, works better. Maybe I should start an "Android is trash" or "PCs suck" thread. Wait, I don't need to jump on a soapbox and scream "look at me, I hate CompanyA because I don't like their products!".
Figured I'd ask this here. Is an iPhone 4 8GB worth it? I want to switch to Virgin Mobile for a no-contract plan. The iPhone 4 is going to be $99 on Black Friday. Doesn't have MicroSD though, the LG/Samsung/Kyocera phones do. Normally I wouldn't look at an Apple phone, but previous model or not, 99 dollars is pretty cheap.
Yeah. So I got a Macbook Pro. I just stare at it, hoping it will feel my hatred for it. It just sits there looking all well-built and quiet.
After being a huge fan of androids for years I made the switch to apple about 3 years ago. iPads, iPhones, Mac Book's etc...I've not once regretted the decision.
