I agree completely, which is why I kinda feel the need to defend the guy at times. Without him, the NFL draft would in no way be what it is today
Lol..ohhhh sh&$ that's good stuff..I will be all up in your *** with Sheldon Richardson analysis if we pick him..him and Dion are my defensive version of Austin/Eifert, I really don't care which one I get.
For the folks who really want a premier Dend at 12, and they don't drop to us, whatta you think about taking our playmaker at 12, and Datone Jones with 2a.?.. 3 down player, totally versatile, strong as hell, has some pass rush skills, 18 stops behind the Los last year, grown man body already, I mean I don't think we're gonna sign Starks long term, so we'll move Odrick there next year and have Vern as our only guy.
Look who decided to show up...and he leaves us with this????? Hey, I made it to the gym this morning. First time since.... July. Damn I have lots of work to do
I think you have to pull the trigger on Jordan if he's there in a scenario like that and maybe Jones. I see the logic in Richardson, but pass rushing is a bigger need and those two also have big time upside.
I suspect the Bills will take Tavon Austin, I think Barkley is in for a fall on draft day. As for our pick in that scenario, Jones does make sense, but think we'd go Cb or trade back. Wildcard would be Eiefert Though, the team most likely to trade back would be Oakland, if we wanted the #4 a #2 and #4 should be enough, though a team like SF would make more sense to move up.
Could you imagine Spiller and Austin on the field at the same time? Jones is going to be the pick IMO… CB later in the draft.
I disagree with that. The popularity of the draft has nothing to do with Kiper. It was the internet. Anyone could be doing Kiper's job and the draft would be as popular today as it is. He was just doing it first, but the amount of coverage the draft gets is something that Kiper probably hates because there are many more people do what he started and do it better. Kiper never lets an opportunity slip by to remind us he was first or has been doing this so long. Basically, the draft popularity grew in spite of Kiper, he was just the only name that anyone knew because he was the first.
I have some mixed feelings about Mel's work, but at the end of the day he knows his stuff. He has some weird rankings on occasion, and sometimes he moves players up and down his board strangely. That being said, I think that Fluker is a solid player, I watched quite a bit of film of DEs going up against the Alabama OL and Fluker seldom got beat from what I saw, was dominating. I'm not thrilled with him at #12, but he is a player. The head scratcher for me is Ansah at #2, you've got to be kidding me. I would draft Menelik Watson at #2 before I would draft Ansah there, at least he succeeds in his prime directive, beating the player in front of him.
