Quinton Patton might be the most complete receiver in this year’s draft class, at least according to fellow draftee and Mississippi State cornerback Johnthan Banks. After getting lit up for 11 catches, 87 yards and a touchdown against Patton in 2011, Banks was quoted as saying that Patton was even better than any SEC receiver.

“I feel like (Patton) from Louisiana Tech is the best receiver I’ve played against since I’ve been here, Banks said. “I’ve gone against some good ones in the SEC, too, but he’s probably the most complete.”

Patton had an incredible two-year run at Louisiana Tech, becoming one of the best receivers in school history and, in turn, the country. His smaller stature and under the radar productivity is reminiscent of Deion Branch ahead of the 2002 draft.

I read some good stuff about him but is he a "slot" receiver? With all the Bess rumors floating around it looks like we need a new "slot" guy soon... :pity:

At LA Tech he primarily played outside, right receiver. However, in JUCO his freshman and sophomore years he almost exclusively played slot receiver according to an interview of his I read a while back. Presumably that means he has the experience to play slot and outside receiver, which could match the versatility the Dolphins are looking for at the WR spot. I think his skillset matches well to both, decent size at 6'0". He's not a ridiculously quick slot receiver with burst, but is pretty universally praised for his solid routes and could make an impact anywhere on the field. I'm a big fan, I'd consider him one of my "guys" during the draft process.

    Two words: Keenan Allen.

BTW: what's the chances of me joining the DB fan club? Loved the guy going back to when he was playing for June Jones.

I think (and I've heard others share the same thinking), that he can play any WR position. Some people actually feel he is a pure slot guy. I think he is one of the most complete WRs in the draft from what I've seen. IMO, he's exactly the type of WR the Dolphins need and something they don't have.
