Is there a kicker out there as good or better than Carpenter for less money?

They were saying he has the most consistent power but his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired.

FTR, that's what ranking him in the top 10 says.

but top 10 out of 32 means you are the top 31%, not as impressive as being a top ten WR, top 10% or even QB, top 15%

Well, I started thinking after that point that we will win 8 games this season according to them because we look just average on paper.

If it makes you feel better, PFF rated Fields as the 5th best last season. Their opinions probably come from more actual tape study than the Bleacher Report does, IMO anyway.

I glanced over their article on ranking the 4-3 DEs and it seems like Odrick was in there somewhere. Perhaps Fin D just missed him?

Edit: I went back and scanned the article and Odrick is not there as a top 50 4-3 DE.

Also, Vaughn Martin is listed as the 34th of 35 3-4 DEs.

I think I'll continue to give more credence to PFF's ratings than I will one guy from The Bleacher Report. Still, thanks to Fin D for listing them in one place. It is something to talk about as we approach the slowest 7 days of the year.

It is entirely possible. In fact, probably likely.

EDIT: I went back and checked and did not see him again. I checked all the DL position rankings (3-4, 4-3, DT, etc.). Its possible he's not ranked because he's sort of tweener right now.

You did not miss him. He is not there among the top 50. Comparatively, PFF ranked him the 59th 4-3 DE, Vernon was 34th and Wake was 1st.

Some of these are absurd, and that's not even with aqua colored glasses on.

    Wallace at 33?
    Keller at 21?
    Solia at 50 (last)?

There is no chance there are 32 better WRs, 20 better TEs, and 49 better DTs in the NFL than these guys.

We absolutely need to bring in competition. Kicker is an easy place to save money - you really do not need a big name, high contract guy. Wasn't the Ravens kicker this year a rookie/first year guy?

As for the rankings, some of them are just ludicrous. Soliai at 50?

Wallace you could argue mid 20's at best but hes not a top 20 receiver. The other guy who cares.

All I can say after reviewing this list is, if Tannehill only plays like the 22nd best QB in the league in 2013, it won't matter who the Dolphins draft this year or who they signed in free agency. Because if he plays to that level, this team will once again have trouble having a winning season.

I realize that his rating is based off his play from last season, but he needs to dramatically improve his play in 2013 if this team is expected to have any chance of having a winning season. Hopefully he will improve enough in 2013 to move into the top 15 QB's in the NFL. I think he has the talent to eventually be a QB rated in the top 12-15 quarterbacks in the NFL, but I don't ever see him becoming a top 10 QB in the NFL.

If he cuts down on the TOs that would be a big help. Get the ball to your new playmakers in position to let them make something happen. Those will be his biggest tests I think.

Top 10 is a fluid and evolving concept. Sure there are uber QBs like Rodgers and Brady, but I can see Tannehill giving us some years like Flacco, Roethlisburger, etc.

Amazing we were the 7th ranked scoring defense and were stiff against the run allowing the 7th lowest ypc thanks to a dline that was the strength of the team, yet Starks was 23rd, Soliai 50th, and Odrick wasn't even ranked.
