I laid the biggest stink ever for getting rid of Welker, Im on the record for I knwing what the kid could accomplish at this level, and understood his special talents..

I think we could get a third for him, at least a fourth, nothing less.

Damn! How much is club level? I can try and convince my better half to let me join if it isn't much. Getting laid off and having a 2 day old little girl isn't working in my favor though lol

So Welker does it almost twice a year. Sounds meaningful.

If the salaries and contracts were exactly equal...for this team right now...would you rather have Davone Bess or Wes Welker?

Ive been glad to have Bess as a Fin, but he clearly has one foot out the door. He'd be fighting Gibson for 3rd on the depth chart this year, so a 4th seems fair. Do it.

Welker, but if you had it to do over, would you have traded Welker to New England? That's the point. Trading Bess may be a similar mistake.

Welker has been in the league 8 years (not counting 04 because he did not play) and has 13 - 40+ yard receptions. That is more than 1.6 per year.

Bess has been in the league 5 years and has 1 - 40+ yard receptions. that is 0.2 per year.

This is per reception, not per year. Welker averages about 110 receptions a year, so he averages almost two 40+ yard catches a year.

Well, I don't know. I'm not connected. I'm just hoping for a trade down to 31. And I just realized that Gibson kills my case for hoping under the logic I concocted.

I'm sorry to hear that, bro. I'm almost in the same boat. Company seems to be tanking after many years of nothing but growth. President is rumoured to be scouting for another job. That can't be good. Hold strong. Easier said than done but hey, what else we gonna do?

$24 for a year/$15 for 180 days. Sorry to hear about your job situation. Hope it gets better! And congrats on the baby! Completely missed that til this edit.

    Comprehend better.

    Thats what I originally suggested (a 5 + a future 5). Anything more is $$$$

You took the position (based on no objective data) that Welker is the much better downfield and big play receiver, and then when stats were presented that directly contradicted that, you ignored them. You've offered nothing to comprehend other than ipse dixit.

I took that position and explained to you why the stats are the way they are. You chose to ignore it. Not my problem.

Also, used to be in the club. Haven't been posting much due to my career taking off. But since its now taking on (i guess that would be the opposite?), I have more time on my hands.

Anyhoo, the club is insane. These freaks (term of endearment) write a thesis on the slightest detail of the game. It's really something that even a die-hard fan like myself can't begin to comprehend. Hell, I love this team but not enough to write reports wherein it seems as if the writer was studying for the bar.

Join up. You won't regert it. Might soon do so myself.

Why? Because they're both slot receivers? Lazy argument.

Bess has been here 5 years and never topped 820yds & never caught over 79 balls (both of which came two years ago), whereas Welker was a phin for 2 years (really more like 1.5) and was coming off a surprisingly good season - arrow was pointing up. WRs take time to develop, especially undrafted ones like they both were. Bess has been here long enough to know what we have: no TDs, no RAC. Also, the system changed now where Philbin, so people say, wants guys who can line up in a few different places.

yet the soon to be 32 year old Welker makes twice Bess's annual salary. Your "objective performance data" means crapola. Like MrClean says, you only need the data collected from the University of Our Eyes, and that data is consistent with what the NFL thinks about Welker & Bess.

There's no crazy conspiracy preventing Bess from being recognized and paid like Wes Welker, and it's certainly NOT quarterback play like you nonsensically push forth. Welker had a revolving door of crap at QB for 3 years here (Feeley, Harrington, Fiedler, Frerotte, Rosenfels, Lemon, Culpepper), yet the Patriots still gave a 2nd rounder for him. A SECOND ROUNDER!!!! Tannehill was paradise for Bess in comparison. What we get in trade for Bess will tell you everything you need to know about the true difference between Welker & Bess.

Again, this is football; your obsession with data as if it's more important than the actual play on the field is out of control.

Don't ask how much the club level is? I'm going to do it as long as it's not a recurring charge to my card. I want to test it out and I have a jones for some draft info

If good QBs make WRs better, and Hartline had a record year and Bess was on his way to record year before injury, then how come some don't think Tannehill is a good QB?

    You can't explain that.

    No not that, nvm.

The club level is great, don't currently have it but when I did, it puts you ahead of media as far as breaking news, in most cases

If Bess is traded is there a possibility of drafting a WR at 12? I know Austin isn't likely, but what about Patterson?

Different skillset, IMO it makes Bailey or Swope a target as soon as 54.

I can. The some are wrong. I haven't seen such posts but anyone posting that Tanne is not a good QB doesn't see the game of football very well. This kid is very talented. But forget good. We need to ensure his growth to great.

Get the shotgun now. You'll want familiarity before you have to use it. lol
