agree 100%. I finally got sold on the logo when I saw the positioning of the logo on the helmet.

    This.

Goodell would never allow it. He'd force Ross to sell the team first.

  3. I hate the jags 2 tone helmets, but I did see one interesting idea while looking at all the different dolphin mocks. There was one with our logo but the bottom two inches were aqua, with the rest white and the logo above that. It made it look like the dolphin was jumping out of the water with the sun behind it. It really looked nice, with a little work I could have liked it.

I honestly liked Jt's mock of the Jags' helmet. Way better than the actual one they unveiled yesterday.

Out of the three teams in Florida, Jax is most likely to leave, then Bucs, then Dolphins

The people who think the slouched over dolphin looks more aggressive than the new stance have never seen a dolphin. And it looks nothing like a whale...just saying

I would love any pro team out there. Only thing close they got is the Wranglers ECHL hockey team. And UNLV basketball fun to watch. Other then they no good sporting events, other then a Laker preseason game and 1 King preseason game, the Rodeo and a race once a year. thats it.

The more I see them, the more I like them. I still think the white jersey needs "something." Honestly, the best uniforms they've ever had, IMO, are the the one's from the 1994 season. They could have gone back to those and I'd have been thrilled. This rumor of a third uniform is interesting and frightening. Worst case scenario? All orange with a silver helmet.

Im already busted and I know for a fact the Dolphins are reading this... with no way to prove it's me so I may as well just say-

You're welcome, ThePhins, for posting and giving information regarding the uniforms, which directly led to lots of accurate mock ups :)

True. I actually went their two years ago with my brother, saw Johnny Chan vs Helmiuth in a heads up battle. Jackie won, but Phil had a good come back! I love poker, play all the time when I am there! Do pretty good I must say!

Honestly, even if there is black piping on the unis I wouldn't really care. With me it's about the logo and the helmet. Both of which I love.

I agree, Any team would be crazy not to roam the message boards for info and fan opinions, especially on things like the logo. When the leak happen I am pretty positive that they went here to gauge fans reactions

  21. Nice clip, pretty sloppy play even for heads up. Lots of ego between those two. Fun to watch.

I don't play that level, or any where close, but I have been supporting myself playing poker in underground games since 08. Lot of bad players with a lot more money than they have knowledge of the game, keeps average players like me in positive cash flow. I can just sit back and play ABC poker, Hellmuth style, see 5/7 rivers in a 3 hr sit, and walk away with an easy grand. Boring but it pays the bills. Guess you would call me the old school grinder.

Yeah, I dunno how the Bears, Packers, Steelers, Colts, Giants, Chiefs, Raiders, et al, can play in those uniforms that have not changed appreciably since the 70s or before. Don't they know they need some fancy new uniforms to give the team some pizzazz, so it will inspire the players to play better and reach new heights? :omg:

The Front Office and such genuinely don't read these boards normally.

They only do when they have something specific they are looking for. Right now, they are looking for something specific.

JT - I can say with 100% accuracy that no, they didn't read this thread to gauge fan reactions during the initial "leaks".

The more I look at these uni's, especially the white one, the more I feel sick to my stomach. ORANGE needs more accent. If any of you want aqua and blue, then go root for Tennessee or Carolina.

When something is iconic, you're throwing away your brand equity by changing it. Yeah the new logo and uni's are fine (and not the embarrassment they could have been), but when the history of the Miami Dolphins is written in 50 years, I doubt this set will be on the cover page. I bet in 10 years when we have a new owner, they'll realize the value in what they had and go back to it like the Giants, Jets and Bills did.

    No you're not.

Many, many, many major brands change their logo over the years without taking a hit, whether it be sports or other businesses.

WADR, you're basically making stuff up. I have literally had to study logos and logo changes in school.

Just a SMALL sampling of some of the biggest businesses in the world, that have no problem evolving with the times when it comes to logos.

Fair enough. For CORPORATE logos. Can't say I recall a whole lot of people walking around with corporation logos on their apparel. The point being made here is tradition. You can use Denver, Tampa and the Chowderpukes as examples of success after logo change. But, they NEVER won a Super Bowl BEFORE that. Miami has. We HAVE a winning history and legacy. That's what we want to get back and retain. There is no retro in this logo or in these uniforms. The blue overpowers the orange. The design is foreign. It'll be like cheering for a new team. And that is a very sad thing.

It took all of 5 minutes.

Just google image search: "(name of business) logo evolution". Again though, I literally had to study this stuff in school to become a graphic designer.

Kind of like how you had to learn which eyeliner and fishnets went with which leather pants to allow you to rock as absolutely hard as you could.

Did you just say you don't see people walking around with corporate logos on clothes? Really?

Our old logos are dated. Simple as that. The ones before the 97 change, were poorly crafted and post-1997 just don't fit with the times.

Many of the logos you talk about like Green Bay or the Cowboys are very simple icons or letters that are timeless. A grimacing dolphin in a tard helmet is neither simple nor timeless.

    Here:

    Another quick example:

Not talking about the cartoon '97 version. The original was the winner. The logo and the uniform. Bottom line is, adding blue to subdue the orange is taking away the team identity. Simple as that.

Isn't that living in the past? I understand we have tradition, and during that time, we snagged a couple Super Bowls. Really though, we've had the same logo for decades and were due for a change. Sorry but 2 Super Bowls in 20+ years is def not a "winning" history. We've been at the bottom of the AFC East for a WHILE (with the exception of a year or two more recently, as well as back before my time). But when i look at the new logo and Uni's, I still see the Miami Dolphins. There have been plenty of teams in the league who've changed/updated their logos, it was about time we got on board and set the tone for the future. Some say feminine and weak....I say modern and sleek. Simple, yet, attractive. Fast, agile, elusive; just a couple of verbs that come to mind.

JMO....and of course....to each their own.

FWIW, i would say that the organization was gearing more towards Modernized Tradition (lol, if that makes sense), as opposed to a more Modern Throwback/Retro look. :confused2:

  38. So any changes to improve the team is in your mind taking away the team's identity?? So getting rid of our first coach and hiring Shula, that took away our identity, even though it was moving forwards making us better?? What about the facemask, should they all be single bar?? Come on, times change, teams and society moves forward. Change happens.

Our original logo was not a really well done logo. It looked 70s. Not a clean logo at all. Had a lot of design flaws. imo of course
