I had him going 2nd in the draft and then had him going no worse than 5 to Detroit, if Jags took a T.

Jordan is everything Odrick isn't. He will take pressure off of Wake and I believe he is the second coming of Javon Kearse. He is every bit a freak like Kearse and will only add muscle and bulk.

Best part is we only gave up a second to move up to number 3 and get the best defensive player on the board. I feel like we raped the Raiders, though it isn't that hard to do.

Now we have more leverage to force KC's hand in trading Albert. They need to move him, we gave the Raiders the pick they wanted. We now want to keep our other second and will force KC to take a 3rd instead. If KC tells us to go to hell we will then sign either Winston or McKinnie. Either way need is filled and we still have picks.

Johnson would have been the safe pick. Jordan is the winning pick, the right pick. Love, love, love it.

I'm seeing Jordan as a "Tiger" or "Jack", who atm is a bit weak, his body is not really developed enough, sort of like JT in 1997, but the talent is just there with him.

Consider this, he has size 14 feet at least, yet they are active, watch his back peddle and smooth change of direction, love this pick.

Sports science rates his athletic ability up there with D. Ware, and D. Freeney. Acceleration equivalent to the WR's in this draft. Freak Athlete.

According to trade value, we had a positive 500 point trade. I'm wondering if there was a better trade for value ever.

I love this pick. Cam Wake has to be smiling ear to ear.

I told a buddy of mine that body wide he reminded me of JT when he was drafted. Lanky, doesn't look like and end and yet it works. He wil get bigger on an NFL program.

Lets not forget he is also a high character guy.

2 things, his first step is explosive, secondly, watch his body lean, he knows how to use his frame/weight when making a tackle.

This is the opposite of a Tank Carradine

Mayok loves this guy. Compares him to Jason Taylor and Aldon Smith, and says if he adds 20 pounds he could be a Demarcus Ware.

    That's some high praise.

Really like this pick. I thought they might go Lane Johnson when they traded up to #3 and I was about to turn the TV off in disgust. I was on the phone with my father when the trade happened and I wish I could have recorded the conversation. I told him: "I can't believe they traded up so high to pick an OL, the only player I would have traded up that high for is Dion Jordan."

What is the shoulder injury and recovery time? When do you all think he'll be back in the weight room, will it be soon enough for him to get the 20 pounds of muscle on? Bottom line I really like the pick, and want to know will Jordan be ready to bookend Wake at full NFL strength by game one?

And major kudos to Ireland for ripping off the Raiders to go up and get Jordan, he wasn't the sexy pick, but I think for us to pressure Brady and take over first place in the AFCEast this year, Jordan looks to be the best pick possible.

Now we see what El Jefe plans for replacing Long at LT.

Color me a very happy camper with this pick, I think!

+520 -- which equates to the 38th pick in the draft.

It's a new era, but it still makes you feel good.

Best part about this guy is his toolbox: he covered tight ends frequently in Aliotti's 34 scheme. Coyle must be happy; this guy dropping back on a zone blitz...yeeeeeehaw. I am very happy with this pick; one of my favorite prospects in the draft. Tavon at #8 was a surprise, but many had him going to STL.

How can you possibly justify an edge rusher being worth #3 but not an offensive linemen?

B/c he is more then an edge rusher, he can cover as well, and speed rush, and has massive upside.

A Tackle though..uhm...think I've been over that one lately

To win the AFC East, we have to go through Brady and the Pats. You have to get to Brady and quickly. Wake and Jordan coming off the edge is a great way to do so. That can be a vicious duo.

But we do have a problem, Wake is the Kraken, named so b/c he has this ability like he has an extra set of arms to tackle and sack a Qb while falling down..

BUT, Jordan is a better visual fit for it..he really does have long long arms

It's a bit like having a V-12 ferrari bending the edge on one side and a sort of phreak on the other side who can do things Kraken couldn't like drop into the coverage?

    Kraken, Baby Squid, and Phreak?

Actually it is pretty simple in my point of view. We have a week secondary and the best way to improve an average secondary is to improve your pass rush. We have one pass rusher right now in C. Wake and Dion Jordan significantly improves our pass rush and depth on the DL.

Besides, I was not thrilled with the options that would have been available at CB at the #12 pick. If I had my choice I would have stayed put or traded back slightly and picked Eifert from ND.

Nonetheless, Dion Jordan to me is a much better pick than Lane Johnson at #3 because there are much more options to bring in and start immediately on the OL. For example, Winston - Clabo - Albert - Mckinnzie are all viable options to start immediately on the OL available through trade or FA. Albert is the only one who would cost us significant resources and thus I would shy away from him, but the other three would be good options.

If we are ever to supplant the Cheatriots, we need freakish athletes, guys who make coaches plans seem silly, Jordan is one of those athletes, to me he's a "must have"

So fired Coach Gruden, you have to defend Gronk, do you think your left tackle would have done it?

Nope, yet one would advocate for doing the "smart" thing and taking the tackle.
