Absolutely love it. If you go back to my first posts about the drafts I was calling for this guy. Didn't think we would have a shot in hell at landing him. Big props to the Irish for a slam dunk pick and trade.

I'm happy tonight. As someone who was anti-Ireland from his past moves, I like this. I like John Martin at LT. I don't think he can play RT. I think we need a big brute, and there are options out there for RT, Winston at worst. So I would have been disappointed if we let Jake Long walk in FA, and then blew a first and second rounder in replacing him. Psychologically, that'd be a tough pill to swallow. I personally don't think a blue chip tackle is the key to a championship. And I also think 2 or 3 "good" tackles are better than 1 great one.

And I didn't want to see us trade down for more guys like Misi, Odrick, Merling. Guys who aren't bad, but just not difference makers. So we take advantage of the short bus Raiders, and get a potential game changer. We have some talent in our secondary. We have young new LBs. We certainly have more talent there than many other teams. But when you look back at some of the teams who won a lot of Superbowls, or just teams that make noise...it's teams that can get to the QB. We already had a good pass rush. We got a 6'7" coachable, bright, athletic kid now. Lest anyone forgot how annoying batted passes are from last season...this, sacks, covering the tight end. He will hopefully be our game changer that gets that sack or strip late in the 4th quarter.

As, Kurt Warner says he thinks Dion Jordan will be the guy in the Top 100 list next year.

We have 9 picks left. There's not a team in the league that doesn't need to strengthen some positions. I like the talent we have going into tomorrow. But iall comes down to Philbin and Tannehill anyway. Say what you want about "catching the Pats." For as long as they have Brady and Bellichick on paper and in reality, they will be a ***** to deal with. The coach and the QB, that will usually be the most important variable.

When you're 6'7", 22 years old, and have access to world class coaching, instruction, nutrition, and facilities...it should not be that difficult, by the 2014 season.

I don't see him as a base DE in the 4-3. In the base IMO, he should be the Sam. He can rush, he can drop and cover and run with TEs like Gronk. He is very fluid in space. In the nickel, he can move to RDE opposite Wake and they both can tee off.
It is pretty cool that he and Josh Kaddu were roommates at Oregon, and now they are together on the Dolphins.

I never expected we'd have a chance at Jordan. I wanted Tavon, but if we didn't get him I was hoping he'd go to an NFC team, so seeing him go to St Louis was the next best thing to getting him. Being a Ducks fan since the days of Dan Fouts, I'm happy to see any of their players go to Miami, but up till last year and this, it has not happened much, if ever.

Jeff really impressed me with how he got this done. He's elevated himself in my eyes. Excellent job of working the Raiders, getting great value in the trade, and then getting the best defensive player in the draft.

Regardless our opinions on Ireland this move was a steal. I believe this pick alone regardless of our record may have allowed conversation of extending our GM. This is a tremendous victory to move up that far for a player with so much potential. Lets DRINK and be Merry! Kudos

He's at 3.8 % body fat, he can gain 10lbs and he still will be able to keep his speed..he's not as skinny as most think..he's 248 lbs with 3.8 % body fat...that's freakish.

This is not a KeeKee Mingo body..he's thicker, more dense, just as explosive, more coordinated, tougher player..don't sleep on this kids nice demeanor, he's plays with an attitude...

I just can't believe we got my top rated defensive player..

These last 2 years have been a far cry from the Parcells era...and I'm loving it. Is it Ireland with free reign or is it Philbin putting his vision of the team together. Either way im psyched for 2013.

I doubt he even starts. If Odrick really dropped that 20 and he's staying at DE, Jordan is going to be one hell of a player to bring into sub packages. The utilization comparison I heard that intrigued me was Aldon Smith. I don't expect 14 sacks as a rookie role player but just the pressure aspect from his athleticism has me thinking about this positively.

Yup..it coincides with the way his body looks muscular wise...

He's not skinny, he's got good muscle on him, and his joints aren't skinny..

3.8 bodyfat? Show me a picture without his shirt on. 3% bodyfat is dead, you know. I seriously doubt a professional football player is anywhere is .8% body fat from death. That's probably .2 lbs. He's 6-7% at best.

You prefer maybe a left tackle with half the athleticism and a quarter of the upside? How long have we been unable to cover tight ends? Can there be double teams of the Kraken with this kid in the lineup? Somewhere, Cam Wake is practicing a sack dance.

Oh ok. they basically made it up then. Probably using a **** measuring device (Dexa scan being the most accurate). 4% body fat looks like this.

To be honest...no. I am not excited about the pick. The trade was a steal, and if Joekel had been there I would have been very psyched. Jordan...no, not so much. I think we could have had a pass rusher at pick 12 that would have produced just as well. I am not impressed with Jordan. I don't think we needed to trade up at that point unless it was to take Lane Johnson.
