I never expected to get Dion Jordan....had him rated above Jones, Ansah, Mingo...I'm stoked.

Mingo was my plan B in rd #2, thought the Browns reached tbh, problem with Ziggy is he takes uncertain steps, he reminds me a lot of Cam Wake, but the lack of polish shows with him.

I love the versatility of Jordan. Jordan in a (hate to say it) Nick Saban defense... whew doggy. Hope we can use him all over the place as well.

But every time I see Ansah, I can't see anything but instant superstar.

i think Jordan's value isn't only in his pass rushing abilities but also his abilities in coverage. If he can shut down the new NFL hybrid TE's while generating pressure from time to time, good lord! This pick (to me) had the patriots in the crosshairs saying we're coming for you.

    "Definitely not contact-shy"

Nope, he sure isn't..and he's only been playing defensive football for 2 years...

What are we anticipating, spending most of his time at end? or at OLB?

    Cause we're geniuses.

Seriously, did we also get an offensive Red Zone Threat with him? I'd be disappointed if it wasn't tried.

In my opinion Jordan clearly projects as a defensive end. I know Gruden hated on the pick quite a bit. He said if it were him he would just "chip" block Jordan with one of his backs. Thing is Jordan is athletic and fast enough to actually cover in passing situations. He's not just a pass rusher. The guy can probably cover Rob Gronkowski or any other big dominant tight end for that matter.

Now he just has to be used correctly. Disguise packages so they're not sure when he's coming or dropping. Move him side to side before the snap, driving olinemen crazy. Kevin Coyle has to work over time to put him in the best match up for success. He can be dominated if he gets hands set on him. Unfortunately, a chip block might work more often than not. But if you don't know when he's rushing, dropping, nor from which side; how are you going to chip him consistently?

I tell you this, we cannot complain. Like the pick, don't like the pick. We made the biggest splash in FA and the biggest shock in the draft. There is not a bored Dolphin fan on planet Earth nor bored Dolphin hater for that matter.

Remember when Cam Cameron tried to make Jason Taylor an eligible receiver at TE?

Gruden has a habit of slating our picks last few yrs. Hard to 'hate' on a legit top 5 player but apparently Gruden does.
