He was a valuable commodity to another team. There should be sufficient compensation regardless of how he got here.
Bess got in the doghouse late last year and as we know thats a very small temporary house .He was a good player during some down years.

I hate to see him go. I think he is a much better slot receiver than Gibson, but Philbin obviously feels differently. I think the Browns are getting a very good receiver and it won't surprise me if he gives the Dolphins fits when the Browns play the Dolphins in their first regular season game this year.
The Dolphins have traded wide receiver Davone Bess to the Browns, according to a league source. Terms of the trade were not immediately available, although it is believed the Dolphins got a middle round pick in return. Bess signed a three-year extension with the Browns as part of the deal.
