    -Dion Jordan
    -Jamar Taylor
    -Dallas Thomas
    -Will Davis

Aside from the names all having a weird "back to the future" lean to them (Dallas, Thomas? JT, Davis? those are like crossword puzzle clues concerning fmr dolphins)

All 4 are outstanding athletes, they all run well, they move well and not just in straight lines.

It really looks more like a Jimmy Johnson draft class minus the legion of trade backs JJ was famous for doing. To me, this is what we need as it is far easier to find players who can run then it is to find "it's a big man's game" types.

The other change is, Jordan and Thomas are both nicked up with torn labrum's, which would usually mean they are off the menu, which is a real sea change for Jeff Ireland.

My other thought is Devo Bess is going to have a huge year in Cleveland, he was on track for 1,000 yds in 2013 and the Browns have less on offense then we had in 2012.

Weeden may target him 150 times...

BUT, you could see why he did not fit here any longer, we needed more playmaking potential over solid dependable hands/route runner that is DBess.

Does anyone happen to know if we drafted anyone with the picks we got from the Browns? Or were they are part of the bizarre trade back into rd 4 for Willie Davis?

Another thing, pick #106 is originally the Jests #4..my goodness I hope we take a HoF/pro bowl player with that choice..that would be lovely

You mean aside from Trent Richardson who, despite being injured, ran for more touchdowns than our running backs combined and Greg Little/Josh Gordon who combined for 9 TDs while our entire WR corps managed 3?

Yes, aside from their offense, they had less of an offense than we did

I did make a point. It was: You either didn't bother to quickly research the Browns actual production on offense or you chose to ignore it :wink2:

Little, Gordon, Benjamin, and even Norwood and Massaquio were a better group of WRs than what we had last year.

I think Bess will have a good year, but that isn't because they have no one.

Nah, watched some of their games..:D

They need a Bess badly, what they had was young Wr's with physical talent who were wildly inconsistent, young Qb has to have a safety net and that is Bess to a "T".

    He's also a heck of a leader.

I don't understand why we drafted Will Davis in the third round when all scouting reports had him projected as a fifth rounder.

Weedon and Tannehill are equal at the QB level in the NFL at this time. Neither is a top tier Qb, but they aren't bottom tier QB's either.

The Browns have the better running attack at this time and as far as Clay and Fasano are concerned. The Dolphins didn't even appear to have any interest in signing Fasano to a new deal. Clay has been a major disappointment so far. Depending on how well Kellar ends up playing in 2013, right now it is hard to say which team has the best TE group between these two teams heading into the 2013 season.

The Dolphins should have the better receiving corp this coming season, based on the players each team now has on their roster. Of course this will on be determined in the first regular season game of the season for both teams when they meet in Cleveland on 9/08/2013.

They didn't and reports on both Taylor and Davis are varied. Mayock is one of those who had a 5th round grade on him, but Charles Davis sitting right next to him said he was drafted right where he should have been and thought it was a good pick up.

Will Davis himself said he was talking with the Dolphins the whole time, but when they took Taylor in the 2nd he thought they wouldn’t pick him. That would indicate that he was on the Fins radar. Ireland just waited as long as he thought he could to grab him.

I believe Ireland said why in his Press Conference after...

There was a run of DB's coming off his board and he moved back to get him before he was also taken... I could be mistaken, can someone else confirm???

I hate to be the ******* but why not? Please keep in mind tha I am very excited about our draft but we must be honest with ourselves:

    Staying put:

Jarvis Jones (wanting pressure ala Dion Jordan) OLB
    Menelick Watson OT
    Jamar Taylor CB
    John Jenkins DT
    Will Davis CB

    EDIT: noted on hindsight cliche.

After we moved down, two CBs went off the board: Ryan and Webster. That hardly qualifies as a "run". It's way more likely that we liked players such as Bailey (who went to St. Louis before we moved up) and moved because up because Davis was sitting all alone at the top of our board now.

I loved the Jordan pick, liked Taylor and Thomas, and hated the trade up for Davis. Jordan is a bit of a project, but he's an absolute freak. Huge upside there. Jamar Taylor will be a very solid CB, and Dallas Thomas moves very well. Thomas will be a very good pulling guard.

I just don't like the Will Davis pick. At all. I watch film on the guy, and I see a CB who shies from contact and gets burned often. I see a guy who gives up big plays in both the running and passing game. I'm not saying he can't be coached up, but, I get the same feeling from Ireland trading up for him as I got when Ireland traded up for Daniel Thomas. He just overspent for an underwhelming project player when there were much better prospects on the board. Only this time, we JUST selected a much better player at Davis' position. I don't get the pick at all.

I hope I'm wrong. But, I hoped I was wrong about Daniel Thomas, and I wasn't.

Maybe Ireland gets a play-maker on offense in day 3. There aren't many left, and that's really what this team needs. At this point, I'm hoping for Swope and Dion Sims in the 4th.

Brother, you don't draft *prospects* at #3 and you certainly don't trade up to do so. In case you are to debate a Jets fan; monster, beast, freak- any of that sort. Any Dolfan conceptualizing "project" should be too busy crying to be thinking.

    Edit: projects not prospects

A player with Dion Jordan's physical tools... you do draft at #3. When I say a 'bit of a project', that means add 15-20 pounds of muscle to him, work on his leverage technique, and teach him a couple of inside rush moves. He isn't a huge project. His upside is immense, and absolutely worth the #12 and #42 picks. Without any doubt whatsoever.

    Day #3 was odd:

-Jelani Jenkins/like that pick, we need rangy Lb's
-Dion Sims/people think just a blocker, imo he is more polished then just a blocker

-Mike Gillislee-don't really like that pick, don't hate it, don't love it, like my Rb's with more speed
-Caleb Sturgis-make the kicks he should make and I'll like it

I like the draft overall, think we could have done better though.

Jordan is also going to making plays right away. Impact plays, even.
