He is not a super fast guy, but he'll fight for yards and get four to give almost every time.

Five months ago, everyone goes like, eff Carpenter, let's bring in someone to push him. Today we draft the best or 2nd best kicker of this class, and everyone's all like eff Ireland. Fans ...

A kicker... Swope is getting the Davone Bess treatment. Oh well, if he's a UDFA, at least we probably have the inside track.

Ireland, Philbin and Sherman DO NOT want Swope.

They are basically holding up a sign that says that.

    Move on, kids.

If he doesn't miss big time FGs like Carpenter did, I have no problem with this pick.

And then you keep praying. I'd rather let Rex Ryan east cheese whizz out between my wife's toes than let that kid on my roster.

Carpenter got out of shape last year, and he was making 3 million dollars, there's no excuse for it, and he's now on serious notice.

Its mostly his $ 3 million price tag. This guy was brought in to compete, and if its close, they go with the cheaper rook. This is the normal NFL cycle.

Bah this is basically our last pick in the draft, other one left is basically the same as an UDFA, might as well get a good kicker. Cut Carp, save some money. People kneejerk too much here.

The Dolphins are clearly just chucking darts at a board with University of Florida players names on it.

gillislee is a guy that will run people over and get the tough yards. he also gets better as the game goes on, and was a workhorse for the gators this past season. his game against LSU was really great. 34 carries 146 yards 2 touchdowns.

With the money they save on DCarp and one of the CB's being cut they can add a vet OLman

I don't mind the pick I guess. A very good kicker can be a huge asset. I just don't think he's as good as D-Hop. Certainly doesn't have the leg that Dustin has. Or the swag:cool:

I'm wondering if Hopkins would have been a better pick. He has a bigger leg and is pretty accurate. Sturgis is more accurate but doesn't have as good of a leg.

Hopkins definitely would have gotten us more touchbacks.

This was definitely Rizzi's pick. He liked Sturgis better.

can you guarantee he'll beat out carp? no? then it's a questionable pick when there's still talent on the board.
