just saw some jenkins highlight videos, he has more INT´s than sean smith ever had, look how deep he is in coverage
w/o a 6th we had to take our top kicker there or not get him at all. nuf said. Carp sucks and is unreliable. Good kickers win games; bad ones cost us them, just like Carp did 2 for us last year.
Mike definitely plays faster than his 40 speed says:
so the draft is over? we're "set" at all other positions to the extent of turning our nose up to late rd talent?
Meh. I've talked to Dustin a few times. Nice kid. Was all-ACC academic I believe. He's very confident but why wouldn't he be? He dates a golden girl
Never with Ireland. As much crap as he gets he is out of this world good at drafting in the last few rounds.
Met him once and he seemed like a good guy to me but hey so does mike vick. From what I've heard 'confident' would be quite the understatement.
Less then obvious point but with Bess gone and Carpenter having one foot out the door, Ireland's 08 claim to fame has officially parted company with the franchise
??? Out of this world good? That must be sarcasm. The only ones on the team ever since he's been here is Reshad Jones Richard Marshall Lamar Miller - 4th rounder Briant Hartline - 4th rounder Charles Clay Jimmy Wilson Nolan Carroll That's 6 out of like 25ish ever since Ireland has had the GM job here. One is an all pro safety. The rest are below average to decent. I don't see this out of this world goodness you're talking about.
Nope, not sure why. Can't really argue against him though, pretty good track record. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
You do realize what the odds are of finding a solid starter on your team that late in the draft right.
Concussions had to knock Swope either off or way down our board. At least he goes to the NFC. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 via Tapatalk 2
That still doesn't make him out of this world good. Two of those players are likely replaced with some of the defensive backs we drafted this year (Caroll and Nolan). So you can pretty much subtract them. And not sure Lamar or Brian even counts as they were 4th rounders. To be out of this world good they have to be at Reshad Jones level.
Chris Clemons, too. You realize that's a pretty damn good success rate, right. Not to mention or rotation guys who actually made the team and can groom into decent backups.
are you high? You have no conceptual understanding of the draft whatsoever if you think contributing guys in the late rounds are below average to decent at best. NONE. Stop talking please.
YES. Look at how many late draft picks that have made our roster or other teams rosters and are still in the league: Rishard Mathews - 7th round pick Kheeston Randall - 7th round pick Jimmy Wilson - 7th round pick Frank Kearse - 7th round pick Charles Clay - 6th round pick Austin Spitler - 7th round pick Reshad Jones - Last pick in the 5th round All those guys are still in the NFL and we drafted them in between 2010 and 2013. Hate on Ireland all you want but that success rate is out of this world.
Yep, they sure have contributed, to 7-9 seasons for 4 years straight. That's wonderful. How long did AJ Edds stay on our roster, BJ Cunningham, Josh Kaddu, Gates? You guys think 4th, 5th round picks are throwaways? They're not. Stop talking up Ireland as if he were in the same league of Thompson, Reese, Newsome, or Baalke cause I don't buy it and he's not even close.
The one guy he missed on was Mike Mariani, he thought he'd go as a UDFA and fisher poached him in the 7th rd and he went on to be an all pro kick returner in TN He also took Donald Thomas who turned out be a darn good player
I'm not an Ireland supporter really, but in the end if you are avoiding the fact that this has been a very good off season for him, then you flat out have an agenda. People were accusing others of this, I didn't think much of it but it's starting to get ridic. I'm sure when Dion Jordan pans out as an all star, some how Ireland won't get acknowledged for it.
Out of this world good in the late rounds means finding guys who actually make the 53 and contribute, sprinkled in with some starters and an impact player here and there.
