They mentioned recording a movie about the draft and had an actor come to the stage to announce the Miami Dolphins pick. Does anyone else have any additional information about this? Is the movie based on the Dolphins? Thanks guys and I found this really neat!
Its a movie called "Draft Day"....starring Kevin Costner who is trying to balance his personal issues with being the GM for the Cleveland Browns.... I actually really like Kevin Costner in sports movies...so I cant wait to see it http://www.deadline.com/2013/04/draft-day-movie-cast-finalized/ would have been cool to see one of our "gurus" to get a small role..lol
That could be it, but I know for a fact they had an actor announce our pick. I am really excited for the movie whatever it is
well taking a kicker is rare, so they probably filmed him making the announcement just in case they want to use drafting a kicker as part of the film?
I would, this just isn't one of my favorite drafts. That doesn't mean that I necessarily think that it will be a poor draft, it just lost steam for me with the Dallas Thomas pick. I'm not thrilled with the Dion Jordan pick because I have questions about him and it cost us #42 which could have been used to get Menelik Watson. I didn't like the trade for the Utah St. CB that cost 3 draft picks and I didn't like the 5th rd pick spent on a kicker- in both cases it cost us a shot at some good players in a deep draft. I'm surprised that we didn't draft at least 1 WR, especially with Bess traded. Dion Sims was a solid pick, but at the end of the day this Dolphins draft pretty much bored me, and disappointed me a little. I'm not sure if WRs Da'Rick Rogers or Marquess Wilson are available, maybe we'll grab one of them in the 7th rd. I'd feel a little better about our draft if that were the case.
He had 5 sacks last year. He has 14.5 for his college career. He gets tied up with and handled by OTs too much, and far too often he bends the arc like a cruise ship trying to make a u-turn. Jordan is one heck of an athlete and he moves extremely well, but don't get carried away with yourself. If he's one of the premiere pass rushers in this draft, it's only because it's a lousy year for pass rushers. Both guys at FSU are better pass rushers than Jordan imo. Btw, I wonder if Brandon Jenkins got drafted yet, might be worth a 7th.
I think NFLN said the commish was making fake draft announcements for the movie. Maybe the actor was just a Dolphins fan?
