I'm just happy Shou has a new topic to lecture me about. The Tannehill's holding us back bit was getting stale.

And he turned out to be so completely wrong......well at least in the eyes of the people "in the know" running the team

I suspect that's why that argument vanished

Shou, do you have a problem with people giving opinions on college or even NFL players? I'm guessing your answer is 'no', cause if it was 'yes' your time spent on NFL forums just makes no sense whatsoever. I do not get the point of these threads you've started. To show that people outside the NFL don't know every piece of relevant information about a college kid? Shocking.

Really? The team's improvment in 2013 isn't still hinging on Ryan Tannehill's performance? The relationship between winning and good quarterback play in the NFL suddenly doesn't exist, simply because the Miami Dolphins signed other offensive players?

The GM and Head Coach obviously felt we were lacking in the talent around Ryan Tannehil and that that was a large part of the offenses struggles. Would you seriously disagree with this after the way these past 2 months played out?

Please dont try to back your way out of this one.

I didnt quite understand all of the clamouring in the draft chat, and threads regarding getting swope. or any WR for that matter. We re-signed Hartline, Got Wallace and Gibson. It was pretty clear IMO that WR wasn't a priority at all in this draft for us. Not sure why everyone wanted us to draft one, regardless of who it was.

It's just that Shou hates anything to do with using film-watching as an assessment tool, which is about all us fans have regarding the draft. If the NFL & armchair GMs relied upon stats to assess players like Shou does, he probably wouldn't be such a negative Nancy right now.

I'm still a little shocked Dolphins management traded away one of the league's most efficient playmakers for the equivalent of a 5th round pick.

Surely a top 10 playmaker at WR is worth a 3 year 12 million dollar contract, no?

Were any lessons learned there, Shou? (while you're teaching us lessons) (maybe that that advance stat you promote is worthless....or at least worthless to the people "in the know")

The GM and head coach obviously felt that more talent was needed at the skilled positions on offense. Whether the level of talent at those positions in 2012 was the main variable in Ryan Tannehill's performance is an unknown, which was my position at the time. In other words, it was impossible to know whether Ryan Tannehill would've done significantly better last year with the players he will now have around him. Some people were assuming he would have been much better, but there is no real way of knowing that.

Gibson was even more efficient.... and we already have an efficient possession receiver in Hartline. Don't need any more than that and especially not at the price of $3 million. That's too much for a guy who will be 4th or 5th on the depth chart.

How do you feel about the trades of Anquan Boldin and Brandon Marshall?

Now, I'm certainly not trying to portray myself as never wrong, but I think there's more to consider in these trades than meets the eye.

Vanished like Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Shou's a smart guy, he knows when to retreat to a more defensible position.

But Shou, I'm a little disappointed in you buddy. I thought you'd at least come up with something like "Irish realized RT's limitations but knows he stuck w/ him so he decided to get him better weapons and hope for the best". You mighta lasted a handful of pages with that one. But the Swope nonsense, LMAO, you never stood a chance.

Oh I agree. I like Davonne Bess. Always have.

But he was a decent slot receiver, nothing more. He was promoted by some as this top playmaker that was being held back in our offense.

Obviously the rest of the league(the people "in the know". The people with ALL the information) sees him for what he is. Worthy of a 5th round pick in trade value and about 3-4 million dollars per year. A prototypical #3, #4 so to speak.

Those people must not have access to this website: http://live.advancednflstats.com/

LOL please stop. You think we all fancy ourselves effing psychics? Why do you even participate on a message board that talks about the future? Yes, we can't see the exact future from the present (brilliant observation, by the way), but there are odds and probabilities and trends and variables that would lead you to hypothesize a likely outcome. Would the Charlotte Bobcats win more games if LeBron James was on the team? We'll never 'really know', but you're delusional to answer anything but 'yes'.

The only guys we reportedly wanted at receiver were 2 guys who performed more than just a receiver role [Austin & Robinson], a role no one on our current team is capable of. Outside of that there was no need to clutter the receiving corpse with more of the same when we could improve depth elsewhere.

I didnt think Ryan Swope would've been drafted at all, Coach Philbin made it clear last year he doesnt want WRs labeled as a "slot" guy or a 1, 2, or 3. He wants interchangable WRs where they can line up all over the field, which is the reason Bess was traded and swope was never an option, both labeled as only slot WRs not able to line up outside the numbers with any major production.
