Exactly. The ability to pull off a great trade value is one thing, but then what you do with the pick is a different skill and result. I'm impressed by our trade up, and hopeful about the pick. Truthfully, what Ireland did with the remaining picks annoyed me. Disagree with Cole's grade, especially as he's referencing irrelevant improvements through FA as feathers in Ireland's cap in a draft review.

I would give us an A in Free Agency though. (Although that doesn't always work out so well for teams)

What Ireland did in FA is not at all irrelevant to the draft.

Okay, perhaps an objective view of the Dolphins from Jason Cole is about as equivalent as an objective view of the Buffalo Bills from Chris Berman but still...

Nice to see us get some love in the press!!!

You can still goad him into trying to defend himself on Twitter. Gets under his skin lol.

I never see the point in grading free agency and the draft separately. They are always tied together and should be graded together.
I love Jordan as our first pick.
If Taylor turns out to be a solid starter, then I'm happy as hell.
I'm also looking forward to Dion Sims as our 2nd TE. Tired of bringing in scrubs (backups to Fasano) off the street to be our blocking TE. A two TE set of Keller and Sims could be fun to watch, especially on the occasion when Sims gets a pass and bowls someone over.

If those three players pan out accordingly and we replace Carpenter and save some money, when combined with Free agency, then it's an overall grade of A, especially if we pick up Winston now. If Jordan is the only one that pans out, and Taylor ends up being our #3 CB, I'd still give an overall grade of B.

Yeah, wasn't he the instigator of High-Fivegate ?? Surprising that he'd give out such a good grade....Not that these grades really are indicative of what is to be...they are just someones opinion of our picks based on what they know now...

He's no Evan Silva that's for sure, now THIS guy hates us and especially Ireland, but he's a complete hack also. By the way dearest Evan gave our draft a D+ and justified it by involving the moves Ireland made before the draft, that's how committed he is to being a total prick towards us.

Years ago during a Dolphins-Patriots game in which Miami was eliminated from the playoffs picture, Cole and Armando were caught high fiving, presumably about Miami being out despite both covering our team as beat writers. It came to light when Wayne Huizenga called them out at a press conference and both first denied, then got caught in multiple lies as to why they were high fiving.

From what I remember though, Cole eventually copped to it while Armando didn't. Or maybe it was the other way around...?

Yeah, the worst part was saying they were high fiving because a bronco player scored a TD but he wasn't even playing.

So we should give him a higher draft grade for signing Mike Wallace?

    I totally disagree.

Oh...even that story has changed. Last time I goaded him about it:

    @JasonColeYahoo 18 Mar 12
@WarrenFerguson1 @wildcatlh @V2David I high-fived when they were eliminated from playoffs because I was sick of Wanny's awful coaching.

The story it keeps a' changin with Cole.

How about this blast from the past. Posts documenting his so called apology at the time: http://www.finheaven.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-30544.html

I think it was Ozzy and it really was funny. Whoever it was, they wouldn't let it go and kept at it until certain people were crapping their pants in public.

That was a one in a million shot. The Raiders are in CAP hell with no maneuver room, top 10 talent kinda flat, and not many takers wanting to move up. It won't happen again with the cards falling that way.

I agree GA....also you have to consider the overall weakness of this draft...in most drafts, this deal would never have happened that cheaply for us...
