Do you think you had a better chance of not being born with Down syndrome than the people that have it?

Well if you are going to reprimand someone for supposedly being ignorant and supposedly hating based on ignorance, you better have something more than assumptions and "logical conclusions"

The opinion he gave is absolutely NOT consistent with homophobic people. Every heterosexual man shares this opinion because no heterosexual man will EVER be able to understand what it is to be homosexuals, and vice versa.

Right now you are coming at me with fluff. Where is my double standard argument?

I asked and you delivered. Thanks. I'll take that information into account now. It's a common theme to suggest it is either natural or by choice. So I can see where Wallace came from.

FWIW, I do NOT hate gays. Not against them. This was strictly on Mike Wallace.

Ahh yes, the gay guy in the NBA should be forced to live in the closet, hiding who he is, unable to let his friends know about a meaningful romantic relationship he is having so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of the homophobes.

Jason Collins, just like all the gay NFL players, and gay miliatary people, and gay teachers, etc., should be free to live their lives openly and without shame because their not doing anything wrong. The bigots are wrong, and if they need to be publically shamed into either changing their tune or keeping their stupid opinions to themselves, then so be it.

Overall nothings conclusive. But, I think logically it will come down to genetics.

And what does this have to do with the quote you responded to?

Wallace is allowed his own opinion. All he said was 'All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys' how is this inflammatory? Where did he say he hates guys who do it? Its a statement that has little if anything to it. Its not different than saying

'All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with fat girls.' Does that mean I hate fat girls? No, it just means what it says, that some guys mess with fat girls and there are in fact beautiful women out there. There is no hate involved.

People need to just chill the **** out.

I sure as he'll didn't mean you were gay. I meant you cared way too much about another mans opinion despite saying you don't really care.

    How is he making fun?

English is spoken in America right? Wallace hasn't said a damn thing wrong, not in the slightest. His statement is not bigoted in any way.

Not getting why another man likes other men is not against the law.

I think my father told me that when your opponent starts arguing against coming to logical conclusions in an argument, then that is when you've already won the argument.

Because his ignorance can hurt people..it shows a lack of compassion and understanding..lets just say for example there is a kid out there 12/13 years old that doesn't understand why he's looking at Billy and fantasizing and not Sally sue, he also happens to love the dolphins and bought a mike Wallace jersey..

Well for what it's worth, and this is just IMHO, homosexuality is not derived from one genetic marker that is alone responsible for sexuality. IMO it comes from certain genetic factors that together produce the homosexuality in the person. Therefore, since it is not one individual genetic marker, IMO it cannot be passed down to off-springs like any other hereditary trait. It is pretty much dumb luck that all the aspects were present to produce homosexual tendencies.

Obviously I am speaking about genetic homosexuality, there is also the aspect of social homosexuality and mental disorders that can cause homosexuality in someone.

    This is just IMHO.

Your father is right. Thing is, you have no evidence or support to come to this "logical conclusion". So in effect, it is not a logical conclusion but just a hasty, emotional one.

Quick question... is it genetic that I am very attracted to Spanish women and am not attracted to Asian women? Or do genetics not apply in that case?

Then he should get used to people questioning his choice because that's how the world is. People question each other's choices all the time. Only this time the subject is sexuality so it has to be a huuuge issue.

What if I only like blonde Asian women? Does that make me a bigot against my own preference bc Asian women aren't naturally blonde?

While I agree he also needs to understand he represents a team, a city and the fans to a degree. He should have just not said anything... Or he should have said what he feels and added something like.. I dont understand it, but respect your decision..

To be fair, it may have been Dick Van Patten.

I have Mike Wallace's tweet as evidence that Mike Wallace made a homophobic tweet. I came to the logical conclusion that he believes what he tweeted.

Did he say gay folks can't love god or be Christian? Or did he just say it is a sin? B/c all Christians commit sins. Sinning does not mean you can't love God or be Christian. If so, there would be no Christians, lol.

Dude you really have to get a grip. I can't even begin to tell you the negative public opinion on my faith, yet it doesn't affect me or anyone else like me in the least. Wallace saying he doesn't understand it is in no way "dangerous to society."

What's dangerous to society is thin-skinned people looking for any reason to be "offended" and blowing it so far out of proportion that it becomes viral. I'm quite sure if no one said anything about it, that tweet would be forgotten by the end of the day.

Ok. Folks here have said they have jokingly said this exact thing to their gay friends. Are you going to "logically conclude" that these people are bigots and homophobic as well?

Of course he believes what he said, but what he said was not the insulting part. People are insulted because they are assuming Wallace is a bigot and homophobic, only that assumption would warrant a response like this. The tweet itself does not.
