Right you are. The Dolphins have a few options right now. Adding another wouldn't hurt, however.

Hey look at that, Jon Martin just won the left tackle job.

This probably came down to years. I doubt we were interested in giving him more than a one year deal.

Even though Martin was a rookie and was made to switch from his natural LT position to RT and then back to LT he gave up 6 sacks and 4 QB hits. In comparison, Sebatian Vollmer, who played 15 games at RT, gave up 6 sacks and 7 QB hits. We have to also remember that he went from protecting a (mostly) pocket passer to a more mobile QB in Tanny.

If Martin can/has put some muscle on I think he'll be a fine LT for the Dolphins.

I think it is great that some fans have so much confidence in Martin as a left Tackle but it would be more reassuring if the Dolphins had the confidence in Martin as a Left Tackle. I just don't believe that they have shown much confidence in him or they would have been saying it all along. For Tannehill's sake I hope Martin is able to become a good left tackle. If he doesn't than its going to be a tough year for Tannehill and right now we have no other options at left tackle.

McKinnie signed for 2 years, 7 mil....we couldn't give him that?

this is why the Ravens are the class of the league and one of the best organizations.

i don't know understand why we didn't sign him, we'll have like 20 mil in cap space

Next season cap room gets tight with the hike in Wallace's, Ellerbe's, and Wheeler's deals.

McKinnie is ****ing awful. Miami has better LT options than San Diego and they didnt make him a great offer either.

Bull crap. Including Wallace we are at 98 million in salary for the 2014 cap. Jeff was slow playing him, end of story. Besides, McKinnie was not the answer IMO. FYI, if they keep the cap at 123 mil in 2014 ( which they will not ) we already have, Wallace included, 25 million in cap space.

His name is Ozzie Newsome and his assistant, which we have a great one also, Eric DeCosta.

I think if they didn't have some confidence in him, they would have done more to get another LT in here.

Reminds me of the safeties last year after we let Yeremiah go. Reshad's play went unnoticed, even by most of the dolphins fanbase. They just spent soo much time doubting him, it was hard to accept he's a player for us. God forbid Martin improves, and man.... that guy will never get a break. 1 false start or sack and he's the goat. Guaranteed. He will always be the lard *** too, no matter how fat the guy next to him is.

that would be another vote of confidence the FO shows in Martin, no Tackle in the draft and after exploring a Free Agent, we decided we rather stay put than invest a 2 year 7 million deal to "upgrade"

Good point, plus the no-go on the Albert trade during the draft as well. We'll see if they were right in their confidence.
