So you don't think a city getting the bid on a Super Bowl, is a big deal?

It's a very big deal, and incredibly valuable to the long term scope of your metropolitan.

But I ain't startin over again on this topic, we've already dispelled that false logic.

Even if they benefit 10% as much as the NFL claims, its still generating a lot of economic activity. Lack of renovations are not losing Ross money.

No, because the NFL is corrupt and bullying cities into funding stadiums. They use Super Bowls as a way to get cities to do it. You get a a few super bowls, then you go back to being obsolete as the NFL goes around the country sending the SB's to other brand new stadiums/renovations. New cities start renovating/building new stadiums, the NFL then "rewards" them with SB's, and now suddenly your 10-15 yr old stadium that got maybe 2 super bowls is obsolete again as the NFL makes its rounds to newer and better things.

Rinse and repeat this comedy forever? No thanks.

The NFL and their owners need to figure out how to fund their own stadiums in which THEIR teams play in.

It doesn't take a study. Local businesses know exactly how much they earned during event weeks in relationship to the same periods when there were no events over the past 10 years. The state also knows exactly how much sales tax was collected during those times. It's time for the two of them to sit down and determine if it's really worth charging a 1% bed tax to continue it or not. It's not rocket science.

The rub in your post is that the stadium isn't obsolete.

It's not just a simple private business. There is a reason why cities compete for these pro sports teams and stadiums, they're huge attractions that draw people to the area and add prestige. Dolphins stadium is the only venue that south florida really has to draw in these huge mega sports events which helps the area as a whole on many levels.

Also, you might want to relay that it's a myth these pro sports events help the community to the businesses that the tax actually affects. They seem to be welcoming the tax and the prospects that it brings.
