But the Spanish discovered America. Being totally Anglo, I have no problem whatsoever blending in with the Hispanics or any other race. And there are plenty of white folk left....

I don't live there. But I love the spanish/Cubano vibe down there.

I wonder what some people think when they see "ALTO" signs.

    Here and there
I didn't say anything about being PC it's about being a mature adult and having a mature debate not calling people names because all that does is incite immature banter that doesn't get anyone anywhere. you wanna get through to people act like an adult.

And the same issues are in a lot of states. example California, Michigan, NY, up state or city. So don't act like its some big issue just in Florida. It's in how you deal with it.

So, evidently, there is a possibility of a stadium in Palm Beach:

Any thoughts on this possibility? Or the prospects? Where is this coming from? Have there been overtures?

A new, football only stadium (which included some of the renovation ideas - like an awning over the upper deck and seats much closer in to the field) would be awesome.

I also wonder if there might not be more fan support for the Dolphins further north of Miami ...

Not happening. Palm Beach is basically South New York, if you thought the stadium was empty before just wait until you make residents of Dade County drive 90 minutes to watch a mediocre team. Also the Palm Beach airport is too small and there are too few hotels in the area to host Super Bowls and such. Palm Beach is just too far away from everything.

"Dee said other people heard Weatherford make the statements the Dolphins contend he said. And I found one of those people on Thursday.

"I was in the room with Mike Dee and Steve Ross and did hear what they heard," South Florida Super Bowl bid committee chairman Rodney Barreto said. "And yes, I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that the people of Dade County were not given the opportunity to vote and that's a huge disappointment.

"This is a democratic process and [the legislators] were approving nothing more than allowing the people to vote. And I think that's lost in all this finger pointing, that we had an election going on and 40,000 people voted already and they should have had the opportunity to finish that vote."

Sources close to the discussions between the Dolphins and Weatherford say other people also heard Weatherford tell the Dolphins the bill would be heard. One of those persons, according to a source, is Turnberry Associates Principal Jeffrey Soffer.

Soffer, whose company owns portions of the Fountainbleau Hotel and Aventura Mall, was present when Weatherford and the Dolphins spoke on at least one occasion.

Messages left for Soffer at Turnberry Associates have not been returned.""

Dee and Ross might of been pissed off, but I don't think they have done anything since they took over that we shouldn't be able to trust them..

I support the movement to get these renovations done, and if the people of Miami have any common sense, you should support the owner and his vision, even if you can't see that far.

This is how naive the Florida sports fan is relative to our stadium situation, even the speaker of the house has no clue of its impact so he just blows it off, not even thinking twice what it could potentially cost his state.

No, no, Deej. Weatherford didn't dismiss it just because. He was bought and paid for by Brahman.

Norman Brahman stated that he would not push this issue with the public this time around. He said he was taking it to the polititians side of it and he did. He finally did his homework as to how to get his way. It's called a bribe....
