http://geoguessr.com/ Addictive little game of guessing where in the world you are from Google Streetview images. Some are tougher than others, and it certainly helps when you can see a nearby street sign. I've had a few occasions where I was pretty sure, then found out I was half a world away.

This is fun but some are REALLY hard. I've gotten a few that were just roads surrounded by trees and land. Could literally be anywhere. I picked Russia for one and it wound up being South Dakota lol.
No, that's the only way to get a decent score I think. First time I tried it I didn't even realise you were allowed to move along a road! Turning in circles and taking complete stabs in the dark about where I was wasn't getting me very far, unsurprisingly. Those are the one I just end up totally guessing, 5 minutes of clicking along a country road with not a sign in sight and only trees to be seen made them almost impossible. I kept on thinking "there must be a sign/clue around the next corner"

surprised by the amount of people here that haven't used google street view (or know how to use it). That is how I go on vacation!!
I've used it, I just didn't realise at first that the game also allowed you to move along the road, thought it was just a static screen-capture of Streetview until I clicked on a direction arrow!
