Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

...and it's still an upgrade over any logo we've ever had and better than any of the other proposals that have been posted on this site.

 

I want to like the new logo. I really do. Just cant do it yet.
They should have taken the new colour scheme to the old logo, removed the helmet and called it a day. I also still wonder if Id like the new logo if it was in the classic pose. Can anyone with talent mock that up?

 

And its not even close. Just looking at the new logo next to the old one, its night and day IMO.

That has to be amongst the worst fan mockups I saw. It looks like it is trying too hard to be bad ***.
It looks like an Arena League logo.

I never understood the desire for the logo to look "mean" or "angry".

 

It's probably just the lighting and the photo itself, but if you enlarge the picture and look at the numbers it looks like water shimmering.

Coming from the manufacturer that has done minute patterns and gave Oregon iridescent numbers, I'm surprised they didn't think of something like this. Or perhaps they have.

I think the one everyone is hung up on is horrific. First, why does the sun have dark blue in it? awkward.

then imagine shrinking that down small like you see on the scrollers on the bottom of espn, it would just be a blob of colors.

that dolphin logo looks it belongs on a nascar, or a wwe t-shirt or something, it's mad for the sake of being mad. it's not classy, it's already outdated by like 10 years. it would be the worst possible choice for the fins to go in. I'm glad you all aren't in any decision making positions.

I don't agree. I like our old logo compared to the new one. The redpins logo is vastly superior too, IMO. The only real criticism I have for it is the flippers. They're too small.

The pose on the new logo is still ridiculous. I could live with it if they fixed it, but they won't.

 

Too funny. What exactly are flippers?

 

pectoral fins, according to google. flippers is slang, I suppose. I dunno, im not a marine biologist.

I agree. Not sure I will ever get past the stupid new pose.

 

The gloves and shoes should match the rest of the orange in the uniform.

 

I think they should be white.

 

But we already saw Hartline and Tannehill in uniform.

 

Agreed Gillisee should be redesigned to loolk larger and more aggressive.
Maybe he should be set on fire, and his teeth need to be sharpened to a point.

 

The old logo had that ridiculous special needs helmet and the redpins logo had that stupid tribal motif which already feels outdated. It also made the mistake of trying to make a dolphin look angry. The dolphin's predominant features are speed and intelligence not a fake tough guy grimace. They absolutely went the right way with the new logo.

 

Jesus, people are STILL complaining about the logo? August can't get here soon enough.

The new logo looks great in action. I hated it at first and then it started growing on me. Now that we've seen pics of it in practices, it looks awesome!

 

Logo positioning is so money when guys are in a 3 pt stance

I may do a mock of how the redpin logo would look on helmets but it won't look anywhere close to looking good how the new one looks. Idk why but it looks so awesome and so much better when you see multiple helmets at the same time. Like a pod of dolphins coming right at you. For that reason alone is a reason why I love the new pose. IMO if the new logo was in the old pose, it would be terrible. This pose makes that logo work and makes it look truly amazing on the field. It's a unique and one of a kind look the dolphins have.

I think we are going to go crazy when we see the helmets in the first game action. I think that's when we will REALLY begin to see the vision that the designers had.

Just like the endless complaining about the gm.... They don't have a valid reason to dislike the pose so strongly, they're just sticking with, " it's stupid, it sucks." The new pose is more standard than the old one. It's a dolphin moving quickly, instead of a dolphin playfully jumping. I think it's more a case that some cant wrap their head around how the new logo fills the helmet. * pun intended.

Almost as confusing as the whale comments. Same tail as before, they just moved it. Dolphins swim too.

 

You are right. I dont have a valid reason for not liking the new pose. Other than to say it is not pleasing to my eye and I like the old pose better.
But I certainly dont hate it as much I did at first. It does look much better on the helmet. And I think it helps that the uniforms are really nice.
As with anything new, I will learn to embrace it, but I doubt I will ever love it.

 

One of my favorite posters, the Docta, always said the dolphin logo should represent speed...I think that is the vision...

 

Now all it represents is Sea World.

 

Thanks Dr. Phil but I don't need your diagnosis on why I don't like the pose. Nor do I need an education on why the pose was chosen. I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. Nothing more or less. Is that valid enough for you?

Enough with this elitist attitude you and others have towards those of us who don't like it. Acting as if were too stupid, ignorant, afraid of change, etc... Now lumping us all in with Ireland bashers
as if ireland support and the logo are synonymous.

And the whale comments are perfectly valid. I don't see it or agree with it, but theres enough dolphin fans and non dolphin fans who've made that comment to me in person (not to mention all over the web) to make it legitimate enough.


JT- did you ever mock up our logo in the old jumping pose? You've been so awesome and some so many mocks, but I haven't seen it.
