Yeah the WWE teased all week that Paul Heyman was scouting a "new talent" so people expected someone to interfere with the Triple H/Lesnar match. Good to see The Shield win all the belts but the Cena/Ryback match was cheap as hell but now you have the rematch at the next PPV where Ryback should absolutely go over or his character is killed. The rest of the card, besides a good Fandango/Jericho match, sounded boring.

    Nice guy.

As for RAW, I am encouraged by Joe Hennig getting the Heyman rub. He has the tools in the ring, here is hoping he can put it together long term. It will be fun to see Heyman work with a younger, lower card guy and build him up. I think it shows his standing within the WWE to give him even more guys to work with as Punk and Lesnar are on breaks. The name is...okay, Curtis Axel is better than Michael McGuilicutty, but its sort of odd that for a company that hates to crate confusion with characters, goes with Curt Axel which sounds like Kurt Angle...oh well. I still like "Hennig The III" for his name but I can understand not trading on Mr. Perfect's name.

Also, seeing The Shield with gold around their waists is awesome. I would still love for them to have a loose association with Heyman while doing their own thing. And after the rematch, it will be good to see Bryan out on his own again.

How long have you been watching wrestling? It's the Triple H show all the time when he's around.

I do like that Joe Hennig was Heyman's 3rd guy instead of an already established wrestler like RVD for example as those were the rumors all day today. I just wish they used his real name instead of Rocky Maivia Jr. His entrance music was kick *** too. I just wish he beat the crap out of Triple H once Triple H was doing his little concussion angle. It would have gotten Hennig over as a mega heel and could have set up a match between them at Summer Slam once Hennig went on a run.

I don't get where this whole Triple H angle is leading too, I pray its not for Triple H/Brock 4. I'm thinking either Triple H or Vince were watching old RAWs last week and saw HBK do it and decided it's been awhile since they did something like that so let's do it again!

And RAW was actually pretty good tonight. We got an awesome tag match, a surprisingly good Ryback promo, got to see Ryder's new wrestling gear and even the Sheamus and Orton matches were watchable. And no Cena too!

My thought is HHH retires again and the young in can claim that he retired him. Not sure where you go from there as at some point in tha scenario, you need HHH to comeback. Unless they pick a stand in for him or something. Either way, good to see Hennig get some run and to be honest, short of a clean pitfall, that was about as good as a re-debut that he can have.

I was in and out of the rest of the show as I was playing with my daughter but it didn't seem bad for a three hour Raw.

my six (soon to be seven) year old son watched his first WWE match last night on TV. He wants to know when it is on TV again, he must have liked it. At what point do I tell him it's fake? Do I let him figure that out for himself? I'm sure his "big" sister will ruin the fun at some point, probably don't need to worry about that.

He is getting older and near done. I thought he might start, you know..actually putting over the guys that are gonna make him money down the line?

    But I guess not.

I'd probably let it go until he starts doing actual moves on his friends/sister. At least that's what my parents did with me. I was told when I was around 7 or 8 myself and it really didn't ruin it for me.

See a normal person would think that. But again Triple H's ego is way too big. Remember this is the same guy that beat CM Punk in the summer of 2011 when Punk was the hottest act in the business in a meaningless throwaway PPV for no reason with no pay off.

Hell I'm shocked Triple H hasn't beaten all three members of The Shield yet in a handicap match.

But you're 100% right, at this point in his career Triple H is still a big name value where it would be beneficial to the company if he helped the younger future stars by making them look good by doing jobs and giving them the rub. It seems like the only guys Triple H loses to are other stars/legends. Makes zero sense.

I Love how they came up with Curtis Axel for his name. Curtis playing on his Father's name and Axel playing on his Grandfather who was Larry Axe Henning, Wonder how Long that meeting was to come up with that. Raw was a little better last night, Still won't be the same until Punk comes back.

I'd much rather like to hear the "rejected" names for Axel. Remember ths is the same company that pitched Steve Austin the nicknames Chill McFreezy, Ice Dagger or some whatever else before he/his wife came up with the Stone Cold nickname on his own.

I still wish they just called him Joe Hennig, but I get why they don't. Still don't love the name Curtis Axel either but it's better than his first name. I'd still prefer to call him Joe Hennig or Rocky Maivia Jr. though, then he could start calling himself "The Axel" in a few months.

  18. Samphin

Joe "The Axe" Curtis is pretty good.

And you guys realize that HHH is giving the kid a huge rub right now, right? He just went from being an unknown and possibly cut, to main eventing their flagship show again stone of the all-time greats who hasn't wrestled on that show for two years. Ad most likely gets to lay claim to retiring HHH, at least for a little while. It's a pretty good rub for a relatively unknown and clearly HHH is high on him to do this angle with him.

The angle was all about Triple H (like it usually is). If he really wanted to give him the rub why not lay down for him? A better way would have been if Hennig attacked him after the ref stopped the match or even a simple camera shot of Hennig smiling heelishly and celebrating at what he did to Triple H. Instead he and Heyman just disappeared.

Fact remains that Triple H never lays down for anyone that's not already established as a star.

I think the ending gives WWE options both short and long term whereas Hennig attacking him leaves them with one avenue to go.

The whole point of RAW was to push Hennig then the final minutes of RAW end up being about Triple H. Its about positioning. The WWE makes Shield come off as stars so the fans buy them as stars. The least they should have done was have the last shot be of Hennig smiling or celebrating. That would make him an even bigger heel and the WWE could show that one 10 second clip forever. Sometimes its the small stuff that makes the biggest impact. We got none of that. Hence why I don't think it did mich for Hennig.

  22. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

We will have to agree to disagree, I guess. I think Hennig got, and will get, a lot out of that match. Heyman doesn't usually attach himself to losing endeavors...at least not on the creative side.

Hennig is getting the rocket up his *** push no matter what, whether the match happened or not. Simply because he was giving Heyman and has tons of backstage fans including Triple H. I just think the WWE could have done a better job showcasing Hennig there. All I'm asking for was a simply shot of him smiling while walking to the back. Perfect old school heel move. Instead Hennig is the forgotten man, he wasn't even shown after Triple H threw him back in the ring.

I think whatever Hennig/Heyman do next will be more important than his match with Triple H, as he really didn't do anything in the match that stood out. They should have let him hit a big move in the middle of the match ala Owen Hart's enzuijiri on HBK to help get it over as a big time finisher/threat.

Instead I fear the WWE is going to use this as a lead in to Triple H/Brock 4, since it was strongly hinted during the RAW match that Triple H suffered major injury in his match with Brock when he took the sledgehammer shot to the face and probably shouldn't have been wrestling then. Wasn't there a backstage segment with a trainer telling Triple H he wasn't cleared to wrestle?

WWE officially released its WM buyrate which was 1,048,000. The WWE was expecting around 1.3 buys. So it's to be looked at as a bit of a disappointment. Maybe, just maybe people didn't want to pay $50 plus for rematches and matches they didn't care about.

The card this WM was terrible, and they relied on the Rock/Cena to draw which did not have as much interest as their first match. Not surprised tbh

RAW was ok last night. Still like them spotlighting Axel but he's going to have to start beating guys via pin/submission soon. A count out victory over Cena isn't going to do much in the long run, although I do like the WWE showed him celebrating in the ring with the victory.

Looks like CM Punk will be back for the PPV in Chicago against Jericho.

Bray Wyatt's vignette was awesome. Looks like he will be keeping that character in tact as he comes up. This is a good thing.

For those who don't know, Bray Wyatt is Husky Harris from the original NXT as well as Nexus. He is the son of Mike Rotunda (IRS) and the brother of Bo Dallas, who had a cup of coffee with WWE earlier this year (I suspect he will be drawn into this storyline).

The gimmick is similar to Waylon Mercy from yesteryear, but with more of a cultish vibe ala Raven. And Bray can GO in the ring. Should e interesting to see what they do with him. I really hope they don't drop the ball with him.

Didn't see the promo but read about the character and I am pretty excited about it. At least it's something newish and different from 95% of the current roster.

Wonder why the WWE stopped Bo Dallas' "push" earlier this year but I would love it if they gave Dallas a Stevie Richards type role, although not as dorky, with Wyatt.

Brodie Lee is the family member with dark hair. Good worker. Don't really know too much about the bald ginger, but from what I hear, he isn't very good. I suppose he has the rig look though and if used correctly, can be useful.

Yeah really good promo. Definitely reminds me of Waylon Mercy, which was such a good idea for a gimmick just too bad Mercy was already broken down by the time he started. This has a ton of potential.

I do like how the WWE is pushing Curtis Axel but sooner or later he's going to have to actually beat someone by pinfall. He's wrestled in the past 3 RAW main events yet hasn't been the focus as the show ended in any of them, he's almost the forgotten man between the angle with Triple H and the Cena/Ryback feud. It's all about positioning, like when you look at The Shield they're made to look like a big deal and the focus is always on them, but when Axel is around he's always there just to help push another angle. I kind of wish they stopped having him go up against the top guys and start him smaller with the Kofi Kingstons of the world first.

RAW was actually decent last night, good crowd, but I still can't believe the main event was a no DQ match but count outs were allowed. Just have freaking Cena job to him by pinfall with help from Ryback, it wouldn't hurt his character he's freaking superman here.

  32. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I am not sure if I have ever seen a No DQ, count out match. That was an odd stipulation, for sure.

Daniel Bryan wrestling twice in a night is great for a few levels. Obviously the fans get to see one of the best, and most popular workers do his thing twice (and both matches were good), but it shows that the WWE recognizes what they have in him and are investing in him. That, to me, is a very good thing.

The Shield were great as usual and I am really digging the bulldog driver that Ambrose is using. The Wyatt Family gets another promo tha shows they will be doing a lot of what the did in the minors (also a good thing).

Oddly enough, the Jericho-Punk matchup doesn't excite me much at all. Not sure if it is a lack of Punk on the show or if my souring of Jericho is finally reaching the point of bothersome, but it just seems tepid.

And I know they are down on him, but I would love to see Cesaro involved in the IC feud. I was actually thinking he could start a storyline about being the best Euro/foreigner on the roster which allows him to go up against Sheamus, Barrett, McIntyre (I. A squash), Santino, Khali, and eventually, Del Rio.

I honestly thought the ref was having a brain fart counting when Cena was on the floor earlier in the match but once the announcers started to talk it up the ending was obvious.

Apparently the Wyatt promo got big cheers from the crowd when it was shown. Definitely good to see/hear. After years of complaining the WWE is finally bringing in some good young talent again. Hopefully they are given a real chance.

And yes I'm not looking forward to the Jericho/Punk match either, simply because Jericho works so much better as a heel. His face stuff is kind of stale and boring. Plus it's nothing new match up wise either. Just last year they had a series of matches against each other. I'd rather see Jericho work a program with Ambrose, Bryan or Axel to help put them over.

Right now the plan is for Cena to beat Ryback at Payback and face off against Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at MiTB, so Bryan can put on a great match with him. The WWE isn't going to turn Bryan heel because MiTB is in Philly and they realize that the crowd will cheer the hell out of Bryan and boo Cena anyway. The WWE apparently wants to talk up the fact that John Cena is now a legend for beating The Rock, surviving Ryback and putting on a great match with Bryan.

Yes, the WWE wants to talk about Cena being a legend. And they wonder why the RAW ratings stink. Not that I'm complaining that Bryan is getting a main event push but they're also going to kill Ryback's character in the process by having him lose to Cena. Again I guess I shouldn't complain since The Shield is still getting a mega push and so is Bryan who absolutely deserves it after the year he had with the company. I just hope the WWE goes through with this and doesn't give the match to Big Show since he's due for his yearly WWE title match feuds.

Here's the better question: does anyone care?

As for where they are going with it? I'd guess since RAW ratings have been dropping it obviously means fans want, no need, more McMahons. So yeah we are probably headed to Triple H vs. Cince at Summer Slam in a Stephaine on a pole match. And when no one cares and buys are low it will be blamed on Bryan, Ziggler, Punk, Ryder and The Shield.

Anyone that actually pays money for the Payback PPV is an idiot.
