As I recall, Thomas was still part owner at least for the 1st season. When Joe Auer returned the first kickoff for a TD in the first game in 1966, Thomas was on the sidelines clapping and cheering as Auer crossed the goal line. Unless he still had a financial interest in the team there was no reason for him to be on the sidelines during a game. Also, without Joe Foss as commissioner of the AFL there would be no Dolphins, because Robbie initially wanted to put his expansion team in Philly. Foss talked him into Miami, because there was no NFL team there, and the population was growing pretty rapidly.
Well, to be fair, I only got to choose 4. I can think of another 20 to put up there in quick fashion...then find something to smash into them with. I decided to go with a Mt. CRUSHMORE theme instead.
If you truly believe in that list and it sounds right to you, then I have no ill will towards you for that. I'm not going to flame you for it. In fact I'm going to give you this package as a peace offering. P.S. Just go ahead and ignore the ticking sound coming from it.
My son, who is currently without computer communications piped in by phone: Shula Marino Griese and a blank face with the #17 on the forehead and a question mark beside it!
