There are a handful of decent rookie free agents still unsigned. Here is a short list: Miguel Maysonet - small school rb who was just cut by Eagles. Didn't get to participate in anything other than rookie camp. Coach simply said he wasn't a fit. Adrian Bushell, cb from Louisville - former Gator, had some history of "behavior" problems, but had draftable grade. Recently cut by Raiders after flashing a little in their rookie camp. Darrington Sentimore - DT from Tennessee - invited to Bengal camp; not offered a contract as of right now Corey Broomfield - talented db from Mississippi State, who was initially rumored to have signed with Dolphins. Recovering from injury. I am sure there may be a couple more.
Actually, from why I read about Broomfield he sounded like a decent fit for a zone coverage scheme... And doesn't he have a bit of length and ability to play some safety or am I thinking of another guy?
The Browns signed Maysonet right after the Eagles released him. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/21/browns-add-ex-eagles-rb-miguel-maysonet/
there is a rumor out there that says the front office wasn't very happy with chip kelly's decision to cut that RB Maysonet
I dunno but the Dolphins tried Clay Belton and immediately cut him, then they became like the third team this off season to try Aaron Corp and Barry Jackson said he looked bad. I am willing to bet Lalich would've looked better than either.
As you know I have a (rather limited) experience with QBs, and after your big write up love affair with the guy, I watched him and emailed him to one of my old guys that I assisted at FAU. He came back saying he saw incredibly raw but natural throwing ability. Said his shoulders and hips were phenomenal and that from the limited video he saw, had 2nd round accuracy/anticipation. I really think you spotted a gem. Why the hell isn't that guy getting recognition then? This guy is still a QB coach at FAU, so he's not in a position, so maybe he's just... wrong? Are guys not looking at him even?
Not sure bout anyone else but this statement begs for a little clarification for me, gotta give a little background c'mon man
Wasn't he an alcoholic or something like that? Tyler Bray put up really good numbers in the SEC and went undrafted for being a headcase. Lalich was getting a bunch of draftnik hype the last month or so before the draft, being called a passing "savant" or whatever... I don't know, I'm no expert but I didn't see it. Granted, all I ever saw of him was a few youtube videos so I didn't make a judgement one way or another but I didn't see what the fuss was about. Those videos were somewhat old though from Cal (Pa) IIRC. As far as available UDFAs, guys I think should have jobs right now and don't are DE/OLB Brandon Sharpe from Syracuse and OL Josh Dworaczyk from LSU. Those guys are serious players... I think 4th-5th round type talents and I don't think anyone picked Dworaczyk up. Sharpe was initially brought in by Washington but not signed. But then, what do I know?
all i came up with was,,, stupid really,,, let me know if i missed it huh edit: http://www.collegesportsfeed.com/the-curious-case-of-peter-lalich/
Here is another guy not signed, and who knows for what reason unless injury: Omoregie Uzzi, OG, Georgia Tech
OK, yeah, I don't see anything about him being an alcoholic per se, but he was arrested for alcohol-relating things twice in college... which is what my defective memory was sparking. http://articles.washingtonpost.com/...5_1_nfl-draft-party-nfl-player-russell-wilson
Yeah underage drinking which got him probation, and suspicion of drinking while boating, which was dismissed. It still strikes me as a frigging travesty that 20 year olds end up with arrest records for underage possession. Give me a break. Old enough to enlist, old enough to drink.
