Per the Miami Herald/Rotoworld... Personally, I think Miami better get ready to pay the man because no one is putting up great stats with Mark Sanchez as his QB. Still he managed a few good years under the Suckchez. Something in the range of 60 catches/800 yards and 5-7 TD's is definitely within reach for Keller. I think it could be over 1000 if Tannehill makes the jump that I think he can/will make.
It works for us. If he doesn't make strides over last season, we're off the hook. If he does, we'll have a relationship with him already.
You know what happens when a player gambles on himself?, they live in the gym, no suprise word is out he's put on some good weight, he should be a factor with his athleticism.
This is kinda old news, or at least we knew it when he signed. He's protecting himself because likely Irish wanted to pay him for 3 yrs like he was a risk coming off injury....if he comes back and is his old self again this season, his market will be more wide open to the big payday he's probably looking for... Any way, we'll have to wait and see how it pans out this year before any rash decisions are made on a multi-year high dollar contract....
We'll see, i suspect this pushes Gibson back in the receiver pecking order as Keller is a darn good move Te. If this works our offense will be multiple, it's up to THill now to make it work
We shall see. Problem is he was being targeted as much as Hartline was last year to put his best numbers. I don't think Miami fans would be in anyway satisfied with that. He's got to put up those kind of numbers while being targeted a good percentage left to get that extension.
He couldn't even get one in there since Keller ended the quote with, "this is where I want to be long-term." The one he had about Gibson being this big downgrade to Bess yesterday was priceless though.
Well dont you think theres a big difference between Tannehill throwing passes in mostly close games and Keller trying to catch passes from Sanchez down 2-3 scores? Just saying, Sanchez isnt exactly the model Qb for accuracy while Tannehill was fitting a lot of passes in tight windows due to the lack of receiver separation. Keller, mind you, has no problem separating. Sanchez cant hit the broad side of a barn.
tell me about it. seemed like every pass was stressful last season due to the small margin of error allowed for some of those passes. no surprise that Sanchez was completely lost with Keller out of the lineup last year.
After so many false starts with our offenses over the years...I am in "show me" mode before I'll believe it. The offense has a lot of potential...but that's it...potential. I want to see it realized.
Understandable. For me this is the first time in about 15 years Im legitimately excited about the players on our team. I thought Henne was the answer but I didnt think we had a team around him. I thought Parcells would be the answer...he wasnt. But this is the first time Ive felt good about the players on the field at just about every position. So while Im in wait and see mode too...Im in optimistic wait and see mode because I think we have a coach AND a Qb for the first time since Marino/Shula.
For the first time in a while, I watched football without fear of an INT on every pass though. With Henne, there was a chance on every snap that he could have thrown a pick.
Exactly how I felt, I felt comfortable with Tannehill back there despite his bad games, I never felt comfortable with Henne.
Obviously there was no team in the NFL willing to pay him the money he seems to think he is worth. The Dolphins were in need of a TE, since Fasano decided to go elsewhere. So the Dolphins overpaid Keller for one year and I expect they hope they can permanently upgrade the TE position during the 2014 free agency period or in the 2014 draft. Keller is a liability as a blocking TE and he is merely adequate as a pass catching TE. I think the Dolphins will be looking for a TE who can both block and catch passes in 2014 and that Keller will be playing for another NFL team after this coming season. It was lucky that the Dolphins only ended up signing him for one season, IMO.
I thought Henne made poor decision to often, and also took the safe play over the explosive plays. Keller comes back 100% and Grimes does as well, we are in a bad way in 2014's FA.
