Might be just me, but I just don't see it. If anything the shoulders on his jersey are better filled out now.
Egnew will be the player i will be watching AND rooting for. I've never dissed on him. Was disappointed he hardly suited up last season but lets see. He's got Keller and Sims infront of him. Going to be hard for him to shine this season imo. These pre-season games will make or break him unlike Martin who already has the reps. Egnew hasnt seen the field. I hope the kid proves the doubters wrong.
Here's another padless picture from 2012. This IMO makes it even more clear that there's a difference.
Agree. Hope whoever plays RG also brings some attitude. As for Martin, he just doesn't seem 'nasty'. When I met Incog last weekend I asked him to help Martin out this year, cuz he'll need his help. Richie was like "Oh absolutely". I hope that's just off the cuff "yeah sure" as opposed to "yeah that weirdo needs lots of help". Lol.
Hard to say if there's anything to this with Egnew's upper body hunched and compacted in about the least flattering pose possible. To me, he looks bigger than in the 2012 picture above it. Last year he looked a little soft. Now he looks more solid. Forearms, triceps, shoulders, chest, and traps all look a smidge bigger and harder while torso seems leander. JMO
This one's a tough comparison. It's from this year but he's in normal, baggy clothes. It makes for a tough comparison with in uniform pictures from either 2012 or 2013.
I think he looks more toned, though not as rocked up as he got for the Combine. But I definitely think he looks less bulky. And I should add, more flexible.
Shoulders were already broad. Can't shrink bones. Look at his mid section, his thighs and the flexibility of his torso and arms. There's less bulk, IMO.
Which is a good thing imo. From my understanding, Missouri is not known for utilizing their TE's much for blocking. I believe fans had unrealistic expectations of him for his rookie season more so then the FO did.
AdamHBeasley Dolphins have waived wide receiver Taylor Stockemer. Courtney Gardner impressing already.
I don't know if I'd say it has to do with Gardner. They waived Terrell Sinkfield in order to bring in Gardner. I'm guessing that waiving Stockemer will mean another receiver gets brought in.
Look who's back. Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero 2m The #Dolphins have signed second round pick CB Jamar Taylor to a four-year contract.
hmmm, well obviously you know where I'm at on Martin, we've discussed it, so that's a hard one for me, I also factored in a healthy Jake Long, he got hurt in preseason, played hurt, got cleaned up this offseason, so I was projecting a healthy jake considering he's on par to be 100%, also, I thought about settling that 3rd receiver thru the draft, so I could of saved the money on the Gibson contract..I guess if Clabo impresses and Martin gets to average, you would be correct..it's all moot, Jake wanted out..
How bad *** would the black visor on Ricky Williams look in our uni with the white helmet, white face mask..sheeee$
Pretty much. Knee, back, triceps, back to back to back. It's not like STL paid him ridiculous money so I doubt Irish let Jake walk for any other reason than he didn't believe he'd ever be the guy he was in 08-09. He's probably still better than Martin at this point, but not so much better that I'd want to pay him 6 times as much over the life of their respective contracts.
Well, that is what it is supposed to do. That and begin the process of opening your body, hips etc to begin to move. If the player steps short it doesn't allow for correct spacing and maybe getting stepped on, too far and the timing is now off. Not everyone teaches/uses it to be honest.
He was 27, you know he has great gym ethic, and they weren't severe injuries, at his age he can continue to develop his body, rehab his assignments, he's not even close to his peak body wise, agility is the question, we really don't know if these injuries will rob a 27 year old of his agility, not unless we had inside info and were able to work him out, but imo, he can get his body back at this stage, and I would bet I could get him to improve on it if the injuries aren't severe..who cares though right.
This is basically how I feel. The best case is that Jake Long regains his form...but it's also probably the least likely. Even at top form I'm not sure I want to pay my LT top tier money as I don't generally find it to be as important a position as it was say ten years ago. Not to say it isnt important...it obviously is. But when you weigh the possibilities I think we made the right choice...and it was the choice I pined for.
Even if Jake Long gets back to 100% I truly believe it is a bad idea to pay a LT top money in todays NFL. The position doesnt carry the same weight it once did at all.
