How do you know half of those players are better? None are in the awkward position of Chalmers who is the 4th offensive option on his starting team and doesn't get to run the offense every play. When he has had the ability to run the offense and create his own shots he has generally flourished. Plays all phases of the game well and does his job. Its not his fault he plays with James-Wade-Bosh For what it's worth though I think Cole eventually surpasses Mario if he keeps working hard.
the tell tale win shares says that RIO actually destroyed Hill in 5 of the 7 games. and hell no...to Jennings (chuck and duck and nothing else), Felton (no defense, erratic shooter) and Vazquez (I actually like him, he just did it for 1 year though)
Mike Miller is one of my faves. Doesnt play for 82 games, nor the playoffs.....but he absolutley, comes to **** in the finals!!!
You know Miller is frustrating. All season long you think maybe its time for him to hang it up. The the Finals come around and he starts wrecking people's **** and you remember why they have him all that rest. Nice to have a team that can stash a guy in the finals time capsule for the entire year.
I think they make an excellent rotation. Miami has a team option to exend Chalmers another season. And Cole is still on his rookie contract. No need to get rid of either.
Anyone know what the series line had fallen to after the Game 1 loss? Do I want to know? Because I definitely had the urge to double down. But didn't.
I see that Game 3 is Spurs -2.5. That's interesting. Barry Jackson brought up that in the 2-3-2 format the home team in Game 3 after starting off 1-1 on the road is only 3-9.
Hill hit big shot after big shot. Win shares be damned, boxscores say otherwise. You barely knew Chalmers was even out there half the time. Felton actually played good defense much of the year. His numbers vs faster PG's dragged him down, guys like Lawson and Curry really hurt his metrics. The rest of the time he was solid. Vasquez was so much better it was a joke. 1 year or not, Im talking about players better then Chalmers right now. And Chalmers offense disappears for games at a time and youre going to criticize Jennings for being chuck and duck? Actually Mike Conley was in that position until the Rudy Gay deal. Kyle Lowry was in that position. Steve Nash has been in that position. Jrue Holiday was in that position at one time. Anyone who has been in that position elevated themselves. Chalmers hasnt done so to their level yet. Not saying he wont but it hasnt happened consistently.
Sounds like an arbitrage opportunity depending on what happens with the series line. I'm not seeing the series line on Bovada but if it goes back closer to what it was prior to Game 1, and yet the Game 3 line remains Spurs -2.5, seems like opportunities to be had.
I just checked. The series line is now Heat -175/Spurs +155, and the Game 3 line is Spurs -2.5. You could bet Heat +2.5 (-115) and also take the Spurs +175 for the series. Say you bet 115 to win 100 on the Heat +2.5, and bet 74 to win 115 on Spurs Series. The expected value of that series of bets would be about +9.81 if you assumed a 45% chance Heat win and cover, 5% chance they cover but don't win, and 90% chance that whoever wins Game 3 wins the series.
I have hated the props this year. the one I hit hard was Stephen Curry ovr. 22.9ppg vs. Denver for the series, and I then parlayed it into ovr. 21.5 vs. the Spurs. I usually bet a BUNCH more...not this year.
I'm running with the Game 3 angle. I think there's solid backing to the idea of Miami winning this series, as evidenced by the series line going back to -175. Miami winning the series would mean a strongly elevated chance they take Game 3. There's no moneyline on Game 3 at the moment so I guess I would take the points at +2.5.
If all you do is arbitrage and middling, you can grind out a steady rate of return. Its really boring, but still.

Charles Barkley picked the Spurs in 4 before the last game on the Dan Patrick show. The NBA media is an embarrassment.
Barkley has picked against the Heat in every playoff series they've appeared in since LeBron James and Chris Bosh signed.
I've seen Barkley pick the Heat plenty of times. But he usually steers toward the other side of the argument. For example most people picked the Heat to easily beat the Bucks but I think Barkley thought it will go to 6 games. I can't remember how many games he thought the Bulls series would go to but I believe he did pick the Heat. He's never really been a buyer that the Heat have a full team and not just Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. He's been absolutely effusive in his praise of Lebron James as the best player in the world, the past two years.
nah..he's a hater. he has picked against the Heat in these series: 2011 Celtics 2011 Bulls 2011 Mavs 2012 Pacers 2012 Celtics 2012 Thunder 2013 Pacers 2013 Spurs You can't pick against a team that is consistently favored that much and not be a hater. For him to be effusive and stating the obvious that Lebron is the best player in the world is not that impressive. I am impressed that water is wet.
In Chuck's defense, the Heat only win when the other team gets sloppy and turns the ball over more than four times. Just because they consistently dominate doesn't make them the better team. Sent from my phone using Fapatalk 2
I hope the Destroyer of Planets version of Lebron James was awoken with the block of Tiago Splitter. This would be a really nice win.
