No one will hear you. But don't let that stop you. Japanese bikes are inexpensive. Some are loud, some people rev them like d-bags. When I ordered my pipe kit, I simply told the sales rep, make sure a truck can hear me in traffic.

It's already been explained why the bikes are loud. I'd say on average the crotch rocket is going to be as loud as a Harley. And I'm not sure I believe that you go up to complete strangers and yell at them about their bikes. Unless it's a woman riding. I believe you may hassle them.

I didn't feel safe with stock pipes. otherwise, I'm not concerned about how you or others like you feel or judge me. There's nothing you can do about it, but gripe on a message board. So in that respect, you are entitled to your opinion. Gripe away. It's all you can do.

Didn't have to be that way, but when you try and say you modified your Harley to sound the way some do for just 'safety' ....that's just next level dumb. I have to deal with them anywhere from 6am in the morning to 2-3am at night all the time. and I live close to a ymca and a preschool ffs. Their instant response is "move". Rofl. So typical. It's one thing to have a bike with stock sound, its another to mod it and be in the closet about why.

I haven't eaten a burger at restaurant in so long I can't even remember how I used to get em. Anything aside from rare and well done is probably fine, lol. When I cook em they come out medium but she likes em medwell

Now that you mention it, it's been a long time since I ordered a burger in a restaurant. But I used to get them medium-well, then tried medium-rare once and never went back.

The whole chopped meat process scares me a tad, so I prefer to be cautious and go straight medium.

All cuts of steak are medium rare though. May as well eat a cheesesteak otherwise.

Yes. Almost nowhere cooks burgers accurately (consistently) IMO. If they actually do cook it medium rare, I have no problem eating it.

    Other things I hate:
-People who smoke near the entrance of a facility that doesn't allow smoking. I hate having to smell the smoke while I'm walking in.
-Women who complain about getting ogled by guys.... while dressed in clothing that accentuate their assets.
-Drivers who just cruise for a while, then decide to speed up when you drive to move into their lane.
-Drivers who hold up a whole lane to make a U-Turn despite the fact there's a no U-Turn sign.
-Couples who like to use a line of a store/restaurant/coffeehouse/etc. as a make out spot.
-Commercials that misrepresent the size of the food item they are advertising.
-Parking garages that only take cash. Because seriously, this it's not the turnpike.

Now that I've determined you're insecure I'll get serious with you for a minute. I’ll be the first to admit that the weekend warrior who revs his engine incessantly at a stoplight or blasts through downtown just to hear his exhaust note bounce off the buildings is an overgrown juvenile delinquent and should be fined immediately—not to mention required to seek professional psychiatric help. Also, these half-wits aren’t exclusively Harley-Davidson riders. There are any number of Harley imitators, and sport bike riders out there these days—from all the major manufacturers—whose exhaust note is almost indistinguishable from that of a Harley.
Trying to argue that loud pipes don’t save lives because they’re so annoying is ridiculous. Loud motorcycles can be annoying—that’s understood—but they only disrupt your reverie for a second or two; just like the siren we’re talking about safety here, which is more important than you being woken up from your slumber. Even if you do need more beauty sleep than the average person.

First part of your response is absolutely true, but I can't agree that people mod their bikes only for safety. Give me a break man. I know why bikes are loud at stock. I'm not even raging at the people that do it around my.neighborhood or bother me with it. now it is just solely the notion that someone would make their bike as absolutely loud as possible and try to justify it as solely personal safety and nothing else. That irks me.

Talk about misreading? I never said I want the world to hear me or I want it "as loud as possible." I said I want trucks and traffic to hear me.

If I did as you alluded, Id have gotten straight pipes. I have small kids. I'm not interested in ruining their naps or annoying my neighbors.

You can think what you want. But you are wrong to make these blanket assumptions. And some people do want to just be loud and annoying. I don't deny that.

Our default burger was medium if we were never giving a temp. Which was a little pink, but most times I see people get a burger they get it medium rare

You don't know me, I wouldn't do it out of respect, but i wouldn't not do it because i'm afraid. WTF are they going to do? kill me? gimme a f***in break, Owning a harley does not make me afraid of you. that is a stereotype that harley riders WSIH they had.

So you admit your friends modify their tail noise and say its for personal safety and nothing else, just making sure. That seems to be the consensus coming from the road scholar harley owners.
