I wouldn't call them offensive fouls but it the refs are letting him and Parker be free and aggressive because they are calling tight on the Heat. On the other end the Heat are playing like they have straight jackets on because the refs are allowing the Spurs to hack.
You mean like the rule that you cant push off to gain separation or that the defensive player has a right to his ground? Or the rule of a charge that wasn't called earlier where Van Gundy "Loved the no-call" Maybe they should be consistent with what types of fouls they call or just maybe follow the rule book regardless.
I agree with that, but your anger is taking over and once again you refuse to give any credit to a team that's playing outstanding basketball.
I think the officiating has been poor for Miami but plain and simple San Antonio is just executing on offense at a ridiculous clip.
Tony Brothers officiating this game was a giant extension of the NBA's middle finger in Miami's direction, but the Heat have still had their chances and not sustained them.
They should be losing pretty badly why would I give thgem credit this game? And Im not mad. The NBA will give us game six. Maybe they will actually let these teams play game in game 7.
Van Gundy isnt an official so his opinion is just that. Push offs and defensive players having a right to their ground are judgement calls like Holding in the NFL. You can call them on practically every play. But when a player sets a pick out of bounds thats not a judgement call. You have to call that. Its the equivalent of an NFL player being the first one to touch the ball after being out of bounds or using the sidelines to run a player out of bounds. And before you complain about the moving screen on Lebron, remember they called the same on Splitter in the 3rd Quarter. Now like I said the spurs better keep playing if they they want to win this game.
No. Its setting the position as if youre going to pick the person. A pick doesnt have to have contact.
LeBron drive & no call followed by the Green 3 instead of running the clock down sums up the game very appropriately.
I actually don't need to argue with anyone here. I know what my eyes see. We should have about 15-20 more FT and they should have had 4-8 less. That is the game right there.
You could almost guarantee a Heat win for game 6 but how credible is a game 7/championship season. IMO This why I have been put off by the NBA after watching since the early nineties but at least the NFL tries to be consistent with the officiating.
Oh well. That was predictable. NBA will screw SA no matter what they do and give us game six. We'd have to completely not show up to lose. Game seven I imagine they will lean towards the Spurs but not to a degree where it will rule out a win by us.
you mean usa network the heat are heel and spurs are the baby face just look at how the announcers call the game
It's a competitive series no doubt. I think the decision to rest the Spurs stars during the season was a good one. If they win they deserve it. Bad officiating is part and parcel of the game but the Spurs are such a good team. I didn't even think the OKC had a chance. I actually wouldn't be upset if the Spurs won it all.
IMO, officiating has been bad on both sides. I don't see that as a legitimate reason for the Heat losing. They were simply out played and the Spurs were way too hot. They shot 60%!
Can't remember a time when the Heat couldn't finish simple layups. Contested or not, your the best in the world at finishing at the rim. Lots of reasons for this loss, but converting those opportunities puts us ahead tonight. Sent from my HTC ONE using Tapatalk 2
It is. Anyone who has refereed or played in organized basketball leagues past your local little league or CYA league should know this. Its doesnt require contact to be considered a pick. If you watched the play there was no mistaking the intention. With picks, contact with regards to a moving screen or where the player sets up (in this case out of bounds) is practically irrelevant. Miller was out of bounds, you cant set a screen there, plain and simple. Thats the same as me tackling a player well out of bounds in the NFL. Its not part of the playing field. So color yourself shocked.
Every starter for the Spurs scored 15+ points. They shot 60% from the field. You can't blame the refs for last nights loss.
I don't blame the refs on the Heats loss. I do however think I'm done with the NBA after this season. This is not about last night. I really want to enjoy this historic time for Miami Basketball but it's more aggravation than its worth. I can't enjoy it. The NBA is a soap opera and I'm tired of it. I won't accept a rigged game in favor of either team. I want fair play decided by the players. I can live with mistakes, but there are obvious agendas in the NBA. Momentum changing whistles, ticky tack foul calls that put teams over the limit or that handicap a certain player/team. The game needs a major change. I hate the fact people accept the ref situation.
The Heat just aren't a dynasty caliber team. If Lebron was half as good as what some people think he is they may be dynasty level.
In my opinion, Stern is the one person who has made the NBA a joke. I still think former NBA referee, Tim Donaghy when he publicly stated that Stern ordered the referees to manipulate games was telling the truth. Stern wants games to be extended because it fills seats and makes money for the league. The lottery being fixed is as obvious as ever. The NBA doesn't even deny it anymore. They just don't talk about it.
This and he is getting NO help from anyone else. Miami is trying to back-fill the roster with has-beens, while a team like SA is filling it with young hungry talent.
