Tuna's effect won't be in drafting individual players per se, what he does bring at first is the chop of credibility, once he reviews the season and the GM moves and the Coaching moves, if he decides to keep Cam or Randy, they will have fans confidence, if he decides to fire either one, then it's Bill Parcells, we have to take it on reputation that it is the right move.

I do think his philosophy on the #1 overall pick will win the day, whether we go need or bpa or try to trade back, it will require Tuna's chop on the move.

Let's face facts, Wayne H just doesn't have that credibility or clout with the fans...you know..us...

When I say people are nuts, I don't mean it in a serious or insulting manner. It's just something I say.

I'm sorry if I insulted and/or offended you.

Wow Omar we think a lot alike I can see from a few posts. Dorsey is a downhill 1 gap player IMHO, he could probably play a 2 gap system but not at the level he plays while going downhill penetrating at LSU. If he has one flaw and he is IMHO a VERY good player it is that he does not use his hands well and sometimes has trouble disengaging. This also hampers him protecting his leverage position when 2 gapping...IMHO. He is a hit the seam type DL.I like the Sapp comparision BTW.

Chris Long suddenly fits the new Phin mold a lot more ...again...IMHO only....Gholsten I need to go back and watch with a more jaundice eye. Off casual observation he certainly appears like a Parcells type player.....

Wayne didn't hire Parcels to rubber stamp anything Cam or Randy does.

I wonder a couple of things:
Will the O-Line get bigger? Will the Tuna make an effort to sign Julius Jones?

Whether people like it or not Parcells is the one running the show and will draft players to fit the system he likes and bring in the FA he feels are necessary to help the team win, if Mueller sticks around until draft time like most people think (I personally think he is a goner before then) he will pick who Parcells wants. NorFlaFin I doubt he goes after Julius Jones after what he said about him when he left.

Did you just say that the Colts aren't doing that well? They've 12-2 despite a several key injuries and could have easily won against both the Pats and Chargers.

Also, it's funny that you mention the Vikings, who are essentially a playoff team based almost exclusively on their running game (credit their two solid runners and tremendous offensive line) and their run defense (great tackle play).

Something to the effect the game may have passed him by and he didn't let him play to his full potential which is crap because he isn't even a starter this season.

I didn't mean Colts I meant Bolts, as in the Chargers. Also I am NOT the person saying this, It was Bill Parcells. I was posting this to show what I THINK he will do here, by showing things HE said in the past. And Mr. Parcells has a point, some teams with average backs can still have major success, and teams with backs that are making history can be average to bad. I'm not an NFL expert just digging up some stuff about Parcells that might effect the Dolphins.

This was a reply to Hugo Guzman, I didn't know how to quote him.

Ya know, at this point the issue is BS regardless. Bledsoe and Simms were very good QB's...pennington was servicable. I'm thinking if you are part of drafting those guys in whatever fashion you have no reason to have a "I don't draft a QB" philosophy because of your success.

Bledsoe was the first pick of the draft I believe.

And Parcells loves a good running game and guys with all type of skills like Dave Meggett was, so don't rule out McFadden so easily.

I hate posts like this. Name the 1st round busts that were lineman and linebackers because there are plenty (look at the Rams who now have just about all 1st round D linemen and they suck). And how did Daryl Gardner work out for us? Or Billy Milner? Tim Bowens an all time Dolphin great in your book?

We may have our Dave Megget in Lorenzo Booker.

And why can't we just stipulate that Tuna is flexiable enough to take, or suggest we take, virtually any position in the draft in 2008?

Past may be prolog, but it is not a death grip, Tuna has taken Qb's, De's, Olineman with #1 picks, for me, I hope we just take the best player for our team that we can draft, I like Gholston, or Claddy, won't break my heart if we take Dorsey, we have so many holes we can fill one with whomever we take, sort of like rolling out of bed, you will hit the floor one way or another..

On the Dorsey thing, these are from the NFL.com rosters

    Steelers
    Kirschke, Travis DT 6'3" 298
    Hampton, Casey NT 6'1" 325
    Hoke, Chris NT 6'2" 305

    Cowboys

Ferguson, Jason NT 6'3" 312 On IR
    Johnson, Tank DT 6'3" 300
    Ratliff, Jay NT 6'4" 298
    Chargers
    Bingham, Ryon DT 6'3" 303
    McKinney, Brandon DT 6'2" 324
    Williams, Jamal DT 6'3" 348
    Pats
    Moore, Rashad DT 6'3" 325
    Wilfork, Vince NT 6'2" 325
Smith, Le Kevin DT 6'1" 308
    Jets
    Brown, Kareem DT 6'4" 295
    Robertson, Dewayne NT 6'1" 310
    Mosley, C.J. DT 6'2" 314

So where does Dorsey Stand? Those that qoute the LSU site ( 6'2" 299)need to look again, those were his junior stats.

SI and ESPEN Have him at Height: 6'2" Weight: 303

Is he as heavy as most of those guys? No, but he isn't as light some of them either. If you think he doesn't have the experience at NT or would just be so much better in 4-3, fine make that argument. Just don't quote his hieght and wieght like they prove a point. He is 22, he can put wieght on. I think he will naturaly add some going from college to the NFL. I also think the Combine will really tell in his case.

Anyone know if Parcell's shares any history with Capers, or of any major differences in philosophy of their 3-4 schemes?

Having put together teams himself, Capers once revealed his own preferred design.

I heard Parcells say on ESPN that he as a coach only gives RB's a 4 year window. Sounds kind of short to me, but when I heard that he wasn't our VP yet. Now that he is, don't be surprised with a surprise McFadden top pick.

I agree that Chris Long could be our pick at 1 but then again I was hoping for that before we even got the tuna.

    Ozzy rules!!

You say Beck is not a Parcells guy, but I think its way to early to say that. To me Beck could easily work himself into a Phil Simms kind of QB, accurate and smart. Then again, if I knew this to be true, ol Wayne would have hired me instead of the Tuna. lol

Beck isn't his type of QB? How do you determine that?
