Glad Philbin let him go. No better then Chris Brown. Yet people hate Brown but love Chad

And some still endorse being able to do what you want in the offseason, I say BS, your employer is paying you millions, the offseason is your job to dedicate to your craft and getting better, not doing reality shows, or shut down your football training to become a qualifying us open golfer, see tony romo..

Chad showed piss poor judgement on two accounts, choosing to marry a gold diggin whore, and then hitting her..dumass.

I don't remember many people claiming he was innocent. A headbutt obviously happened. Just to play devil's advocate: It would be possible to do that kind of damage with the "accidental" head but he claimed it to have been. Unlikely, but possible.

I don't believe he ever said it was a true accident, he owned on it on several occasions that I saw, I think when it first happened he may of said that but after the fact I believe he didnt deny.

I don't think there is an issue with people wanting to believe Chad Johnson was innocent, but there's certainly a group of people who are more OK with domestic abuse than they should be. The Brandon Marshall thing was way worse than this go round, with one of our "esteemed" posters suggesting it was acceptable that Marshall hit his wife because she wasn't attractive.

That being said, I don't think Johnson is a bad guy. He is a flawed guy who has some issues, but he's also done some good things and is generally a good-natured entertainer rather than a malcontent.

Leonard Little and Donte Stallworth beg to differ. If Chad doesn't get a job, I think it's because they think he's got nothing to offer. This was the first time he's ever been in off-field trouble.

What reality stuff are you referring to? Chad had some of his best seasons with the Bengals when he was FAR more into reality shows, web shows, Twitter, etc. than he ever was during his brief tenure in Miami.

I don't advocate DV in any way, but that picture in no way proves his guilt. It proves she had an injury, but not how it happened. It may have been an accident or she could have head-butted him. There are multiple possibilities. IMO jumping to a conclusion either way is equally foolish.

The guy was a joke when he was here. He was a goof and he lost any talent he had. I don't even get into the domestic issues. We don't s--t about the truth of what happens in these situations, Marshall included. I actually think that was more overblown, but whatever. Chad's talents are gone and all he has to ride on is his colorful attitude. He completely avoided any contact when he was here and i remember the coaches getting annoyed with him about that issue. Adios ocho.

Chad wad great before he was exposed to twitter, when he used to sleep in the office chad, when he told his coach he wanted to be better than Jerry rice chad..the reality show happened when this woman that he hit was on her show, he reached out to her and started dating her.

that is true, we can see from the video that she has it in her to launch her head into his head to create a lawsuit, the problem I see is, he hasn't been coming out and saying he would never do that to a woman, I mean if a woman set me up like that I would be preaching about how she was a liar and that I would never do something like that...we have gotten nothing of the sort Rafs?...I've seen him say he knows he did something wrong and he accepts responsibility..

he was toast at his press conference where he displayed a complete lack of respect for the new coach, and the franchise, to think you can talk like he did in a public forum in such a vulgar way, shows he has no awareness of the situation..which was leaving a patriot organization quiet and humble and coming to us and thinking the opposite would be ok...dumass.

That's not what sealed his fate with Philbin. It was after the talk they had about language and then Chad acted like he couldn't talk to the media. That showed Coach that he didn't really understand their talk at all and that it would either be too much effort or just not possible to get through to him.

Essentially the approach he took coming into our franchise sealed his fate, and that approach was to go back to being chad even though he just displayed humility and a gag order at your last stop, and then used those reasons as to why he didn't play well, he made a critically bad professional decision by not giving our franchise the same respect as he showed the other, to me, that's a slap in the face to us..Philbin I guess gave him one more chance though and he isn't intelligent enough to understand how to just shutup and play the game..

Do you really believe that the butt slap was the only reason he went to jail? Do you believe that nothing led up to the judge finally getting fed up with his courtroom antics and his inability to take the situation seriously?

I used to work in the DV court in Dade County and when it comes to those relationships people rarely do what I think I would do in the same situation. I've seen people in those relationships accept blame for things I felt they were blameless for (other than not leaving the relationship earlier). I don't know what happened in this case, but I don't find any of the "reasons" people have given for assuming CJ's guilt or innocence convincing. They're all just facts that could have resulted from various actions by the couple.

Yes, because that's what happened. They had reached a plea deal that kept Johnson out of jail. The judge changed her mind about accepting it after the butt slap, so yeah he kind of fundamentally did go to jail because of that.

There's no evidence that Johnson did anything else in the court, either.

It was a female judge, and abuse can be a sensitive issue with women. Pure speculation on my part. But butt slapping your lawyer for doing his job, immature, but I doubt a male judge would hold him in contempt. Then again, the judges I know played football.
