All true. He's guilty as hell but he's rich too so nothing would shock me.

And wth is going on in Boston? Do they have cameras on every street corner up there or something?

Shell casing, murder weapon, fingerprints...all circumstantial.

Video of AHern pulling the trigger would be direct and not circumstantial.

Dude is toast. He's got a bunch of weapons charges on top of the big murder one charge. Gonna be extremely difficult for him to get off without some jail.

Though if he can somehow beats the murder one, I'm sure the other charges will feel like a breeze in comparison.

    DA's words:

"Texts going back and forth from Hernandez to his friends to "get your asses up here". Hernandez says in the house that "he can't trust anyone anymore" shortly before they leave. Left the house, bought stuff at a gas station, arrived at Lloyd's home. Lloyd got in the car, proceeded down Fayston St(caught on video), tracks the car through the city of Boston, got on 95, went back to North Attleboro. Hernandez is upset with Lloyd after the previous night at the club, can't trust him, is mad at what Lloyd is telling people, Lloyd sends text to his mom and sister saying did you see who i am with after 3:22, sends another text to his mom saying Just so you know who I am with NFL, 3:22 am they go by Seekonk Supply, they go by Metal working near his home but they go a different way behind the industrial buildings. Car is down there at 3:23 AM. Between 3:23 and 3:27 AM people working in buildings hear gun shots approx. 5. 3:28 N Attleboro Electric Department picks up video of him. Distance of home to homicide site is 2 minutes. 5 shell casings recovered from scene. Rigor mortis and position of body found is consistent with this timeframe and nature of where the crime was committed. Dug under his body and found that he had been shot when he was down on the ground after initial gunshots. 45 caliber weapon casings found and matched to the gun. At 3:27 AM when Hernandez left, the direction he traveled was consistent to the direction he need to go in order to go home. Surveillance shows him and 2 associates leaving the vehicle upon arrival to home. Hernandez seen carrying the gun and goes to walk through home with it. All go down to basement and they shut off the surveillance. 5:30 pm they go to the car rental to return car and there is damage to car but was not damage earlier in the night. Denies all knowledge of damage. Trade in rental for Chrysler 300 and go home. 2 guys with him leave in that car. Found shell casing under the drivers seat and gum he offered rental attendant. They call cleaners over to clean house and car. Police seized dumpster where everything was thrown out and found a shell casing. Evidence shows Lloyd was killed right as he left the car. Tire marks match Nissan Altima Hernandez rented. His friends tried to get rid of the gun under a car."

It's all circumstantial evidence. However, circumstantial evidence, especially in the amount the DA seems to have (corroborating evidence), is way more than enough to find a person guilty.

Just saw on TV Hernandez's jersey isn't even for sale anymore on the NFL.com website. Kid is toast as far as the Pats/NFL is concerned. I hate to see this but selfishly can't help being glad the Pats should be just a little bit easier to beat this season, and Hernandez is young so Pats lost VERY good TE for many years to come, poor Billy B. and Mr. Kraft!

PhinsRock, I love ya man, but seriously? Your post is the answer to all the "Cue someone asking if we can get him in 3... 2... 1..." jokes that I've read.

Also, aside from Perry Mason, there probably isn't a lot of "proving someone not guilty" in a murder case such as this. He could be acquitted (and maybe against all logical signs at this point he could be innocent but more likely there could just be reasonable doubt if his lawyers work magic) or there could be a mistrial for some technical error, but really with what's going on here combined with the civil lawsuit where he shot a guy in the face combined with other events connected to this murder combined with drug allegations in college, would there ever be any reason for the Dolphins to touch this guy with a thirty foot pole? I don't think being a heckuva TE is in the vicinity.

The details in that story makes it sound like something some really dumb 16 year-olds would do.

I can't believe this guy was even smart enough to learn NE's playbook.

Matching shell casings are not circumstantial.

Proves he was therevwhen murder weapon was fired.

Did they shoot him once in the car? Or maybe one casing flew inside the car.

Either way looks like hernandez wants to be a boss but he's just too ****ing stupid. Surpriseed he wasn't hiding in his trunk

I'm gonna take the over. You gotta think he'll get transferred at least once in prison so that's two yards right there.

Wrong, matching shell casings is circumstantial. Almost ALL forensic evidence, from ballistics to fingerprints, is circumstantial evidence.

ONCE MORE...unless they have video of him shooting Odin, the evidence they have is circumstantial...as circumstantial evidence builds, it is then referred to as corroborating evidence. Also, if one of the guys with AHern testifies that they saw Ahern shoot Odin, and the jury believes it, then that is direct and not circumstantial.

Exactly, that evidence builds and supports a conclusion of guilt or innocence.

If he is in a gang, his life in jail just got a lot harder, b/c now not only is he famous he also has instant enemies.

He'll be put into segregated custody.

not really. Depends. He can't talk because his gang will go after him. If he stays quiet, he'll go to jail, but he'll have his gang to watch his back, he is famous after all. So, he'll have more enemies but also more backup. This depends on where he goes of course.

I think it depends on a) how much time is he willing to do and will do b) how big his gang is in the prison he'll go to. Seg unit isn't exactly where one wants to end up. They can still get got from there, and will be frequently targeted.

So much for Patriots fans/media saying how their organization & Belichick can reform and handle any player with past problems. They gave a gang member (now a murderer) a 40 million dollar contract a year ago. If any other organization did that it would've been "How stupid can they be?!?"

Well, anymore what happens is a single cell, lock down 23 hours, and 1 hr "excersize" time..alone.

This is why it is better not to do such things, that is no kind of life reallly.

This is interesting? Under a car, where ? How does that tie in with AH bringing gun into house ?? Wonder what the cleaners have to say ?? Still lots of questions, but case, even tho somewhat circumstantial seems fairly tight... They obviously have one of the two buddies singing to them...any way you look at it, he looks guilty as he!!...

Is it me or is ESPN not covering this story like they should or you would at least expect? I have had it on since 7:30 and they have barely touched this story and I remember some other people have touched on this as well. Keep wondering if the fact they are located in Bristol, the hometown of Hernandez, has anything to do with it?

I think it's just you, but I wouldn't be surprised.... ESPN News has been on this non-stop. They were even more definitive of the charges than NFL Network was. ( aka *1st degree, w/ multiple gun charges ) Your also tuning in at primetime when there's scheduled live programs.

I am actually watching Sports Center but I actually thought I deleted the ****ing post I changed my mind realizing I was working all day, the reason I'm pissed is I'm having one of those days where technology has failed me on ever damn turn day.

I am starting to loathe technology. The more advanced it gets the more complex it gets the more things that can go wrong. /rant
