For the record, I have a friend of a friend type account of AH (i live in CT). He's basically a typical meathead moron IRL. I've posted about it before (although it was said he wa a real nice guy otherwise). That said, I don't think failing drug tests makes someone an idiot. It's college... If there's a number of other issues involved, then add it up. If not, whatever. I'd say 80% of NFL stars smoke weed, most are probably decent enough.
Yup. I think the angle that the police are chasing now is about the people that Odin Lloyd was supposedly talking to at the club the night before. Hernandez said he's "had troubles with" those people and in pursuing that they may have found something that potentially linked him to an unsolved gang murder case. And it may be more evidence that the two guys Hernandez was with are cooperating fully with investigators. They're airing his dirty laundry.
I think the point is that it doesn't really matter if their philosophy changes. As long as they have Belichick and Brady, they will adapt.
NE also had the 1st, 2nd, and 4th ranked defenses the years in which they won those superbowls. Listen, I agree that NE is still dangerous with or without AH. But lets not muddy the waters, Brady's three rings came in the era of defense, for which he had great ones. This is no longer the case. Brady will get the best out of his weapons, but his offense is littered with issues and health concerns.
Nothing high about it when it comes to receiving. Hernandez stats the past 3 seasons. 51/483 for a whole 9.5 avg. On 84 (8.4) targets in 10 games. Or basically 1.4 more a game then Hartline. His career year with 910 yards? Deceiving a bit like Keller's best year because again he was targeted 113 times. His average was still a pedestrian 11.5. Basically 2 of his 3 years Hernandez didn't accomplish what Ballard did. Ballard pulled off a 15.9 avg while going over 600 yards while only being targeted roughly 4.3 times a game. Hernandez only came close to that his rookie year which had his best avg (12.5). Don't snooze on Ballard. He's a 275lb guy who can catch and is hard to bring down because he's physical. The Dolphins aren't even asking Dion Sims to play at that weight despite similar height. Just remember....275lbs.
I want to stress again, this isn't about smoking weed. Its about repeatedly getting busted. That's not typical college kid stuff. Most make out without multiple busts.
Interesting enough. People were worried about the people he associated himself with. Looks like it was all just him to begin with........
That's what I'm saying though. The Patriots had a top 10 defense last year and were 2nd in takeaways, also had a heck of a lot of scores off those takeaways. Rookies like Chandler Jones (who was already damn good as a rookie), Dont'a Hightower and Alfonzo Dennard get a year older and better. They add Adrian Wilson to the mix. Aqib Talib was a mid-year acquisition a year ago and now he'll have an actual training camp to learn the defense better. Defense was already good, didn't lose anything, especially in the takeaway department, and is on the uptrend. If you want to sit here and start cheering on the downfall of the Patriots, convince me that defense is going to fall on its face. Convince me the ground game will falter. Don't sit here and try and pretend one of the two or three best passers in the game is going to pass the ball inefficiently all the sudden.
Let us now read aherns scouting report with this news in mind: Strengths: Very good, smooth athlete (who will catch you if you try to run away from the murder scene) Nice hand-eye coordination(can shoot where he's looking) Consistent, soft hands (perfect for trigger pulling) Elusive with nice speed (will smash security system and cell phone to stay elusive) Great red-zone target (*enter prison joke here*) Weaknesses: Mediocre size (that's why he uses a gun) Poor hand use when asked to fight in booth Character concerns (you ain't kidding) http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010ahernandez.php
I'm surely not predicting their downfall, too good at coaching and qb'ing, but they have lost one excellent, and one very good football player, if healthy, amendola can be very good in that system, but not Welker good, they do not have a player replacing the caliber of talent and speed Hernandez brought to the table, I won't speculate on Gronk, but if he goes on the pup, then there is no replacing that talent, it just evens the playing field more..and to me it shows some questionable decision making in the front office. So hopefully that continues.
Not me. I'm happy with where our team is headed but I'm not going to say we will overtake the Pats no matter who they lose. As long as Brady and Bill are there, they will be the favorites and should be. Don't get me wrong, I think we can win the division, but I'm no way in hell guaranteeing it.
History also tells us that 35+ yr old QBs decline rapidly, that Amendola cannot take the punishment necessary to replace Welker's production, and that Gronk's injuries will continue to pile up. I respect Brady and Belicek but they've won because they've had good teams, better than their opponents, not b/c of some mythical powers. They both took that long walk to the locker room after the Ravens pasted them in January, and not much has gone right for them since. This aint the Life Time Achievement awards we're talking about, they are 0-0 just like everyone else and what they did however many years ago won't mean squat when they line up in September.
Their teams have been good because their teams have had great QBs and HCs. Sure, Brady can and will decline. Hopefully it is this year, but can't bank on that.
Reche Caldwell, Ben Watson, Troy Brown, Kevin Faulk, Doug Gabriel. His top 5 receivers from 2006 when they were pretty damn close to the Super Bowl. Beaten by Peyton Manning's only clutch drive of his career. Brady is older now, but I won't count him out until we see it.
I think he's in the Bristol Bloods. He's throwing up a B, which anyone who is around gangs know, only wannabes and young'ns actually throw up Bs and Cs (individual sets have their individual signs). At least since the 90s. Out here in CA. But seeing their name is Bristol, (B/B), I guess it makes sense.
yes and other right after says "sweat".....tears is probably on the other side....most members in gangs don't have the word of the actual gang tattoo on themselves.....like "blood" "crip" "Latin Kings" they are either symbols, numbers etc.....word keep coming out that he is in LK.....
I'm not banking on a physical decline for Brady. IMO they have other, more pressing issues. W/o Welker, Hernandez and probably Gronk too for at least a while, the quick pass game won't be nearly as effective as it has been in the past. They'll lean more on the run game and/or expose Brady to more hits b/c whoever the new targets might be, they won't be able to get open as quickly or do as much damage after the catch. Without the quick/easy completions and first downs the no huddle loses it's sting and NE becomes a more traditional offense. Their defense is pretty good at playing soft and waiting for mistakes as opposing teams play catchup. But if the offense isn't controlling the game or putting up big numbers and the defense has to man up, get multiple stops and hold the score down then the equation becomes entirely different. They're on a very slippery slope.
Right I saw that too, that was in high school.....things change, bloods and LK's aren't enemies in CT....bottom line is you will never know if he is or isnt unless he says he is or isnt and I doubt that happens anytime soon...
Also think we are finally taking the right approach to beat them. Objectively, they lost Welker and Hernandez, we added Wallace and Keller.
Outside gangs matter little once you are in. It's all about race inside. If AH is a part of the bloods, a black gang, as a hispanic/latino, it'll be interesting.
By the way.............. Isn't it great that for once it isn't Miami with the bs offseason drama. I swear this has been our quietest drama offseason in a LONG time.
Yeah, I felt like we'd match up well with them even before they lost those guys. It'll be interesting to see what they decide to do, I can't imagine they'll stick to last year's approach with this year's players.
depends really. Tango Blast for instance is mixed. Texas Syndicate at one time was mixed. It also depends on his set and their prescence in the prison he goes to. But, like I said, the bloods, crips, etc expelled a bunch of non blacks a few years ago. I think partly because they started building a prescence in the prison system.
It's pretty elementary, lesser talent at the skill positions, easier to stay close in route, easier to tackle, less explosive, Brady can only do so much, if Gronk is missing for any amount of time those teams will be able to match up man to man and bring more heat.
