Thats great. Micheal Jackson used to make hit records. That doesn't mean he can make a hit record next year. Bynum missed an entire season with bone bruises that turned into torn cartilage from bowling. The guy isn't even willing to workout for teams at this point. I'm sorry, but you're going to have a hard time convincing me that a center with the foot-speed of Bynum will ever recover from double-knee surgery. How many 7 footers have even had the knee issues of Bynum at such a young age, and ever recovered?
Considering Michael Jackson is dead, it would be slightly difficult for him to record an album. Last I checked, Andrew Bynum is alive and well. I hae no idea how many centers like Bynum have had these issues and recovered. And it doesn't really matter. We're not commiting long term to the guy. We're limited to offering him $3.2 million max. If it doesn't work then so be it.
No, he's not well. He is not even able to workout for teams. I understand the risk is minimal, but I'd rather use that $3.2M elsewhere, especially if its at the expense of Mike Miller.
Bynum is fool's gold. As the resident Lakers fan, I can tell you that the dude does not hustle and is extremely slow. And this was before his latest knee injuries. He does alter shots at the rim though, he has just ever committed to defense as he has always wanted to be the offensive man. If he goes to Miami, I assume he would know where his role is on offense there, but then again, he never did with Kobe, Pau and Odom, so who knows. Also, it is looking more and more likely that Howard remains with the Lakers. Which is great for me because regardless of how they perform, I can just pester Broussard until the end of time once he signs. That makes me happy.
Last seen being the key phrase. You have stated NUMEROUS times Amare was a mistake, but not nearly as much as Bynum was for Philly. What is it like 5m difference in contract? And Amare WHEN healthy has been a very good player. Bynum is thee most overhyped player I have seen in some time.
He will pay out something like 180 million in salary and luxury tax this year. I don't think he cares about the cap. The nets are taking the george steinbrenner approach.
IMO Bynum would be a decent gamble. My bet is largely based on Miami's culture. Some teams (in various sports) are able to achieve that chemistry where everybody who comes in seems to maximize their talent. They work hard or they don't last. Former problem children buy in and excel. I think Miami has that going right now. I am bothered that he's refusing to work out. I would need some straight answers from him on that note before I committed. But if he came in and bought in, I believe he'd be a great fit talent and style wise.
You dont understand how the salary cap works in the NBA do you? You cant sign players if youre over the cap unless its for the Mid level or vet minimum. All you can do is trade players. Who is going to want a 33 year old Joe Johnson making 25M? Maybe you find a taker for Deron making 21M if he stays healthy. So like I said, if brook opts in to that deal, youre watching from the sidelines in the summer of 15.
If Howard signs with the Lakers, I hope LA looks to move Gasol. I hated the pick/player at the time, and he did nothing to alter my opinion.
The Heat is trying to set some type of Summer League record for different coaches. This year..it's Dan Craig. In order the last 4 summer leagues: Keith Askins, Ron Roethstein, David Fizdale, now Dan Craig.
Per Marc Stein: Pacers rescind qualifying offer from Tyler Hansborough, making him an unrestricted free agent. I presume it's a luxury tax move with West getting $12 million per and George's extension coming up next year
Would have liked to see West in a Heat uniform. Give him the minimum, a Spalding shoe deal, and some dealership endorsements.
Tyler Hansborough is EXACTLY what the Knicks need. The Knicks should be using their 3.1M exception on Psycho T if possible. A 4/5 rotation of Bargnani/Tyson and Amare/Hansborugh makes the Knicks first and 2nd units good defensively in the middle. And when they need to be really good Hansborough/Tyson is as tough a 4/5 combo as there is.
In what parallel universe does Martell Webster deserve a 4 year/22M deal? Cause I want to go to that universe and see what im worth there.
He may be a better rebounder, but he is still pretty bad. A Good role playing rebounder is Udonis Haslem. He had a down year, and he still averaged almost 1.5 more Rebs per game per 36 vs. Hansborough, and averaged a couple more points in Reb%, both Off. and Def. I am just not a fan. I don't think there is a thing he does well except induce people into punching him in the face.
Woj twitter. .. Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler will go to the Suns, Jared Dudley and JJ Redick to the Clippers and 2 2nd-round picks to Bucks, sources tell Y5:55pm*- 2 Jul 13
Section this is kind of a dumb question but what is the max we can offer Oden and what is the max you think we should?
we can offer 3.2, but we would be galactically stupid to do so. We should offer the Vet Minimum, 1 year guarantee and that's it. (1.4 Million) For Bynum, I would offer a full guaranteed year and a player option.
Atleast your here, the OTHER Sixer fan was so emberessed about his bold talk of the team....he changed his name and doesn't come over here anymore.
Yeah, I'm still here. It is going to be a rough season for the Sixers. Pretty obvious that they are tanking, I just hope it pays off with next year's draft and free agency. Pipe dream of getting #1 and #6 in the draft, but it will probably be something more realistic like #4 and 12. At least this FO is finally realizing that, for the most part, you have to be bad in the NBA before you are good. It beats being stuck as the 7-10 seed in the East and getting no real impact draft picks or free agents.
