Sooo how good is this Wiggens kid going to be? Are we talking Lebron good, Kobe Good, Wade good, Harden good etc. I don't follow NBA prospects very much. Obviously he hasn't even played a college game yet but the overall consensus?

I kind of like the 76'ers as far as its possible to like other teams. I wanted Iverson to get that ring but it never happened unfortunately. Hopefully you guys can be relevant again soon in terms of playoff talk.

The one where bad teams have to over pay for decent players. Webster had a solid year and the Wizards need a role player like him, if you are not the Heat, Spurs or maybe 2 or 3 other teams you have to over pay for players, its where the NBA is right now. The Wizards are trying to push for the playoffs if overpaying a bit (its not like 5.5 mill a year is crazy money in the NBA, I mean every live human being over 7 foot can make 10 million a year in the NBA) for Webster gets them there its worth it. I think the Wizards are putting together a team that can be very good if Wall or Beal can reach that star caliber level, not a given for sure but its possible.

Having gone to many Sixers games, even a few playoff games, during his time, he was beloved by the fans. That guy left everything he had out on the court. I remember being at some games where he would go off for 40+ or even 50+. I still remember staying up real late for game of the 2001 Finals game where AI had a great game, and they actually beat the Lakers the one and only time in the series. I'll never forget him stepping over Lue. Classic Iverson.

It was nice having them in the playoffs for the last few years up until this past year, but it was pretty obvious it was going to be about it for them. They finally have a GM who's not content being a 7-8 seed and getting knocked out in the first round. Hopefully in a couple years they'll be a much more relevant team.

In an already watered down Eastern conference, I could definitely see the Wizards making the playoffs this season.

Howard is leaving Cali for a few days before announcing his intentions. I honestly do not care whether he stays or goes. The Lakers are going forward with their 2014 plan regardless of what Howard decides as they will have everyone off the books not named Nash. Either they add someone to go with Dwight next year, or they add two max players. Either route is fine with me.

What two max players will they be adding?

Kobe is still going to be trolling around for money as well.

I've heard, before I get flamed on here for mentioning it, I'm not as high on him. Anyways, I've heard he's the best prospect since LeBron. Also, this is supposed to be one of the deepest classes since the famous 2003 class.

Depending on who you ask you might be talking about the best prospect since Durant. Hes an explosive scorer and gets to basket like Kobe or Wade in their primes. 6'8"-200 and wingspan is 6'11"; very explosive...http://www.nbadraft.net/players/andrew-wiggins

Webster isnt decent. Hes smaller Steve Novak with slightly more defense. He averaged 11PPG on 28MPG and with Porter there and Beal healthy hes not getting 28MPG again imo. I know my Knicks make bad signings; imo this is a bad one by Washington. If it were my Knicks Id be very upset with this.

Funny these two random guys being mentioned within a couple posts, because AI had more of (this) than Dwight ever I imagined.

Loved Iverson, Dwight is honestly just a b---h.

Not doubting a kid I've never seen play, but is the talent level in Canada comparable to in the USA? Honest question. Obviously you can see athleticism without great competition. Just wondering about the skill level of his opposition.

-The Kings are a disaster. Apparently theyre mulling offering Igoduala max money and not matching a reasonable (by NBA standards) offer sheet for Evans (4 years and 44-48 depending on where you read it). The Nuggets reportedly offered Andre Iguodala a five-year, $63 million deal when they met on Monday. IDK what these guys are watching but hes not a better player then a motivated Tyreke Evans. Not even close at this stage. 3 years ago maybe.
-Wolves sign Kevin Martin 4/28M....OKC expected to pursue Dorrell Wright.
    - Indiana gave West 3/36M but finding no market for Granger or Gerlad Green as they want to get under the luxury tax threshold.

Its not, but we will find out if hes the real deal this year. hes attending Kansas. If he cant crack the rotation, theres a problem. If hes not playing well, then he simply may not be NBA ready at 18 (understandable)

They will get in with like 37-38 wins as long as Wall-Beal-Porter-Nene stay healthy and they can find some depth that doesnt suck. Then they will proceed to get wiped out unless they find another decent big.

Looks like the Suns and Clippers both did pretty well in that exchange.

The Bucks, on the other hand, essentially traded Tobias Harris for a half year rental of Redick with the false expectation of making a playoff run, and got back 2 2nd round picks in return. Yikes.

If this were a Knicks signing the deal would be for 3 more years and at least 3 million more a year. 5 million a year isn't crazy for a role player in the modern NBA, its not going to make or break the Wizards. And like I was saying before when you're at the bottom in the NBA you have to offer more its just the way that it is.

He was only with us one year but averaged almost a double double I think. Even as a Heat fan it was weird having him but the few years he spent in Charlotte after NY sorta made it a bit easier. We needed him badly with Zo & Brian Grant going down that season.

Yup. 2001 East All Stars. Here is a pic of the West... it was a great time for basketball.

Iverson always performed well because while the other guys were hee hee and haha, that dude (as long as it wasn't practice) never cheated anyone on the court.

my bad. 2015 is one year early. 2016 is when they no longer have Johnson's contract. They can sign two free agents to max contracts and sign lopez and deron under the bird rule to max contracts. i think that's the year durant becomes a free agent. super team two with one down year in between. i could be wrong on the rules and it would be an insane payroll but i believe something like that is the plan

One of my favorites of all time.

Check out the rising stars that year... Rookies: Cleaves, Stephen Jackson, K-Mart, El-Amin, Q-Rich, Mo Pete, Marc Jackson (the other one), Darius Miles, and Mike Miller

Sophomores: Dre Miller, Elton, Odom, Steve Franchise, the Matrix, Rip, the Jet, Boom Dizzle and Sczerbiak. What great rosters on both sides.

Also, because Steve Francis is mentioned here I feel it is my duty to include this gem.

Kobe won't get a max deal from the Lakers once his contract is up next year. Either he takes a reduced number to stay and they load up around him for one last ride, or he goes elsewhere and L.A. has even less money earmarked for a complete rebuild.

I will simply say that there are other players in the league besides LeBronze. L.A. fans, for the most part, don't want LeBron on the Lakers. Some of that may be posturing, but not by me. I prefer he stay out East for the remainder of his career. None of us want or think we are getting Bron-Bron, Fade, or Botch. Those are your toys to play with. :wink2:

Any Heat fan claiming Laker arrogance is laughable. You guys are a franchise that thrives on trying to prove that everyone else hates you while making martyrs of yourselves in the process. Fans out here just laugh and shake their heads at how much time you guys spend on trying to prove how much we all don't like you. It's probably time for you guys to come up with some new material, at this point.

As for Lakers fans being cocky...to a degree we are. I will grant you that.We have sort of earned that right given our team's place in NBA history, though. There isn't another franchise as storied as the Lakers (yes, this includes the green guys that both our fan bases mutually hate).

While you guys turn towards working on your fourth finger, the Lakers are working on filling out their fourth HAND. I don't say this to start a slap fight. Just to put it into perspective. The Heat could win the title for the next decade and still not be caught up. That is why Lakers fans are proud to fly their flags (and not the car window ones that Clipper fans ran out to find over the past three years).

And yet, despite all of L.A.'s success, the fan base is pretty realistic about the state of the team. None of us like Jim Buss or wanted D'Antoni. But we aren't going to stop rooting for them either. The culture runs too deep to do that.

Chances are that 2013-2014 won't be a championship one for us, but the 2014 plan (cap room) has been in the cards for awhile. It is probably the main reason we are annoyed that Nash's last year was guaranteed upon the trade since he will literally be the only one under contract then.

But that aside, yes, the Lakers WILL attract top free agents next year. To think anything different is foolish. It may be a rocky road in the meantime, but to think that superstar players won't want to pay for the premier team in the NBA and get paid millions of dollars to do so is, well...ignorant.
