Because the media knows more about the vulnerability of the Patriots then a player who has played on a team that beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

So what your saying is players from other teams don't take comments and spin them in their own direction to use for motivation..not true, they do all the time and they dont care of the context for which it was said.

You're so close to understanding this.

If someone is going to take something out of context to use it for motivation, then there's no point in censoring yourself, since it won't matter what you say.

I don't agree Fin, I think their perfectly capable of understanding what is said and whether or not it pisses them off..

In this case all they hear is another player calling them vulnerable because of some murderer.

All I'm doing in this case is the simple test of putting myself in someone else's shoes, if I was part of a team that continually beat the sh&$ out of one team, and I hear someone from that team calling my team weak, I'm gonna remember..

Well, the pats kept him on their roster even though he's on probation for punching a cop..

I really wish we could put an apb out in Heath Evans, that clown looks like such a fool for his conviction about the patriot way, they really have slacked in the character dept when aquiring payers..we need to tweet his punk ***, what's up man???yeah, thats what I thought..

Like to see a reporter with some guts go challenge that fallacy.

Philbin would of cut his *** after the found out he hit a cop..

Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for DUI. Could the Pats cut him or could he get suspended by the NFL? He was already on probation I believe. He wasn't a bad young CB, he had a few INT's including a pick 6. Either way its another dent in their armor.

Yes, they do it all the time regardless of what was said. Every team that wins the SB says, "everybody doubted us" even when they were the favorite before the season and in every game. It's a fiction they sell themselves. If the Pats need motivation they will say everybody thinks we're vulnerable whether or not Ellerbe says anything. Therefore the net effect of him making an obvious, innocuous statement is zero.

I understand that so much has been said that at the time of the game it might be all forgotten, but, maybe not..

Either way, losing Welker, Lloyd, and Hernandez, and now Denard will make them a weaker team regardless of their mentality to prove doubts wrong.

I forget what position Dennard was projected to play, nickel?

pretty much what I've been saying. If they use this for motivation, they were going to anyway no matter what was said.

Dennard was starting opposite Talib by years end......it would be a big blow to them, you have either Dowling or Arrington to replace them which IMO is a vast downgrade. Dennard played well last year...

What I'm saying is that it won't matter whether it's forgotten or not. If it's forgotten, they'd just make up some other reason to be insulted or motivated.

I don't recall what Dennard was projected to play.

The Patriot way was a compete scam of an image presented by former patriot players now with the media..

They kept Dennard on their roster after hitting a cop and resisting arrest.

This shi$s about to get even uglier, wonder if anyone will have the balls to challenge the patriot way for real..

Nah, Espn doesn't have the balls...

Het teddy bruschi, what say you?

Hey Heath , what say you?

Damien woody..( what a waste of air time that dude is.)

Ted Johnson did years ago AND he called Wilfork's wife a beast....

Maybe not the smartest of moves but I love that guy for it!!

Back to Dennard, they could slide McCourty from FS over to CB, but then who plays FS...one of those positions IF Dennard gets cut or suspended is going to have a huge hole...

but they are vulnerable, why do you think the team is working so hard to erase Hernandez from the team in as many ways as it can. this will be a distraction no matter how hard they try to make it not so. add on to that all the key loses they have this year with what they replaced them with and that offense to me is in as much flux as any other team in the East. having Brady and Belecheat usually means plug and play and move on but this is quite a lot to over come in my opinion. but I also agree with Ellerbe in his assessment of the team, they NEED to prove it on the field. not so inflammatory if you ask me.

that's fine, no need to talk about their vulnerability, as a player, it's really none of your business to declare who's vulnerable in a public forum, jmo.

Every team is vulnerable, Deej. Every team, ever. Even the undefeated team could have been beat and had weaknesses.

I don't think teams fear Brady but the guy is still a very, very, very damn good quarterback. He can make any receiver look good. He has perfected his system. When his offensive line fails him, which they will against us, he loses. But if you're going to let him rest 10 seconds after the snap and let him scan the field, you pretty much can call it a first down, or touch down.

To beat him you have to focus on his protection first. If we're going to be focusing on where he might throw it then we will lose.

are you speaking to me or referring to the player when you say that cuz I DO have every right to say so and unless the coach or organization comes out and corrects Ellerbe then in my opinion he certainly does too. as for smack talk or trash talk or posting crap on a bulletin board, well...there really isn't anything here that just jumps out and New England would really, really need to stretch this to make it worth something to rally around. I would imagine they already feel the pressure on them selves as their organization seemingly is crumbling around them. I think the more important thing he said was that as a team regardless of NE vulnerability THEY,the Phins, still needed to beat them on the field .

In breaking news Philbin stated that the Dolphins will try to beat their opponents obviously implying that he thinks they're beatable (gasp). The bulletin boards are being prepared as we speak!!! They'll remember that for sure!!! Maybe we could apologize to Brady so he won't be angry and motivated?
