So you like to insinuate and not take responsibility for then? You insinuated the people saying other people are fat or out of shape from their computers have no room to talk, right? Not true.

    Abracadabra

If you were attempting a diff point from that statement then I'm all ears, and lats.

At that size in those positions, it's pretty desirable.

Never heard that about Ronnie, though I always thought his musculature looked a bit smooth instead of defined. Ditto Channing Crowder.

Depending on how the players composition was when coming out of college, would determine how much weight the player should gain relative to that composition..You don't just have a guy get over three hundred lbs if his composition is on the poor side thinking that just because he's over three hundred lbs he's going to have leverage and be hard to move, it's a preposterous theory and a horrible way to head a strength and conditioning program.

I had my suspicions about brown (if you recall I claimed he came into camp "Fat") and everyone freaked out at me telling me I had no clue as to what I was talking about..Then later in that year the evidence came out.

Yeah. This fat dude needs to realize that NFL teams simply do not employ big guys. Ever. For any reason.

What's his problem anyway? I'm sure his college coaches begged him to diet and slim down instead of bulking up. Why didn't he listen? 300+ is just insane! Obviously he has issues. He needs to slim down a couple hundred pounds if ever wants to make a roster. He's got to be at least twice the size of any current NFL player.

    To AJ Francis!!!

From Geno Atkins, maybe someone you should look up to...25 years old.

    Nice tweet buddy.

That's what he's doing right now, two weeks before camp, what are you doing Francis, waiting in line at the 7/11 for the rerelease of the Twinkie?

I'm saying that we're never going to win a Super Bowl by having big guys on our team. We should just cut everyone over 200 pounds and replace them with lean running backs, or guys with 1% body fat.

I haven't looked into it or anything but I would assume that's how all these other teams like the Ravens and Packers are winning Super Bowls. No fatties.

Hah, man dj you don't miss a thing, huh? The article you pulled that Atkins quote from is a nice read, helps explain why the dude is such a monster player (benching 465 'with relative ease' at the end of a workout). Bengals are an interesting team this year after a few nice drafts and getting (or, robbing) those extra picks from Oakland. But yea, I found the Francis stuff pretty funny, tbh...imagining Wilfork doing a shoot like that.

I'm hard on any man who was born with certain lucky gifts, has the chance to be a a professional athlete, and doesn't take it seriously or do the necessary things to make sure he does everything possible to improve on those gifts..

I love athletes who don't take their natural born talents for granted..I despise ones that do..Atkins is a beast no doubt, 300 pounder by the way....not a 320 or 340 guy...

Side note...I went to Patriots training camp a couple times when I lived in the area. They do the usual sideline-to-sideline loosening stuff near the start of practice - jogs, skips, sprints, etc. Everyone goes the whole distance except Wilfork. He makes it about halfway, turns around, walks back, and all the fans cheer. There he was, best NT in the league.

Full disclosure...Part of the reason I had gone to Pats camp was actually to see Aaron Hernandez...who I went to high school with...:pity:

You really don't know how seriously Francis is taking his opportunity or how hard he trains. His Pro Day workout numbers would have stacked up pretty well with the DTs who worked out at the combine.

That is a ridiculous unfounded attack on Francis, based on nothing factual.

There is so much sad commentary here.

Everyone is born with innate talent (not necessarily physical talent), and most don't ever realize their potential. To single out a guy who has nearly reached the pinnacle of his chosen sport for not taking his craft seriously enough is absolutely insane when put into correct context. Furthermore, you're making the assumption that he is not a serious athlete because either he made a joke about being proud of his body, or because he's 300+ pounds, which is equally as insane considering the fact that NFL itself dictates a need for such body types and places a heavy emphasis on them.

You're essentially saying that anyone who doesn't have 1% body fat isn't an athlete, which is a joke. Or, even worse, you're suggesting that a guy who makes a joke about his OWN body somehow isn't serious about his profession despite the fact that he's competing to make an NFL roster.
